My uncle became a resident in ashwood court, he didn't settle at first due to his dementia, still has odd bad days but overall we have seen a huge improvement in him. We put this down to all the staff who do a sterling job. They are friendly, professional and very caring not just for the residents but
for visiting families also.

I can not fault the care my mom got in home but the day she died there was horrific we got a phone call to say you need to get here so we did we travelled from lichfield as fast as we could on arrival we pressed the bell to get in but had to wait 20 minutes for some one to open door we went to
my moms room and it was obviouse to me my mom had died she was not breathing the nurse involved was vile no empathy said she could not declare moms death for 30 minutes but after 10 minutes said my mom had passed she then said My mom had to be removed off the premises within the hour and was very rude asking what funeral director i was using at the time it was was a shock my mom had died but cannot get over the total lack of empathy or compassion that my mom had died I did speak to someone from home who said they would look into this but no one has been in touch.

care home is a lovely place, very well decorated always clean and tidy. bedrooms are amazing size and most bedrooms have their own bathrooms. garden is well looked after and the handyman is always doing jobs that need doing. few nit pick problems with some of the staff and their attitudes on how they
respond to concerns some think you know nothing about how care work is suppose to be run. overall, food is a great choice, but unfortunately my nan has dementia and when asked 'what would you like for dinner' she repeated the same food for several weeks, nothing was added onto her plate for her to try even if she left it. provided meals and got told it was a silly idea as they would cook anything that the residents want but on many occasions i was their and my nan was asked what would you like and she said the same food over again. my nan was left in her bedroom 24:7 unless going outside for a cigarette. manager made multiple people feel very uncomfortable and spoke down to family members.

I have visited many Homes which my Mother-in Law resided for differing periods of time. I thought all were helpful and good, but I wouldn't like to reside in them.. I was only aware of short term accommodation... so reviewing the Priory is elite in room size and decor. To continue with entire Home's
vista and and rooms whether public or private, all lovely.
The entire place has been redecorated to a very high standard and taste. I doubt many of the residents will have experienced such quality in their own homes..
Wonderful wide corridors filled with natural light..clean and cozy cushioned for day time sitting.
Catering I have received NO complaints from her, or about the staff, the cleanliness all is good, from serial grumbler this is something.
Personally I have found the staff to be welcoming helpful and efficient..this includes the office staff, catering ,maintenance crew, cleaners/carers ...nurses and entertainment providers.
When I require this assistance .it'd be my choice.

My mother was taken ill in January and we needed to find a suitable care home for her recovery. A list of names were provided by the NHS and having viewed we found nothing compared to Hawksyard.
Mum was slowly slipping away with all that accompanies the Frailty at 96 but the care given by the staff
was beyond the call of duty, nothing was too much trouble.
The senior staff who supervised the medication always offered news and updated daily on mums condition which was a great comfort to us as family and they offered guidance when the end finally approached
Altogether nothing could have been done better, and as far as other residents and facilities go there was an overall feeling that everyone was happy, lots going on with a full programme of activities and facilities for those who chose to join in.The building was a Priory and as such was well laid out with individual rooms and wonderful cloister corridor for exercise and security all set in landscape woodlands and is highly recommended

St Thomas Priory is currently undergoing a refurbishment and it is very impressive. There has been big improvements here with the new owners. Mom's room is very bright and we have been able to take alot of her belongings to make her room feel more like 'home'. There is a lovely outlook over trees and
fields. We are very pleased with the care Mom is receiving and we are so greatful how she has been made to feel like part of the family. Staff and Management have recognised her individual care needs and as difficult as mom can be at times, the staff always try their best for her, keeping us informed along the way. Mom is encouraged by staff to join in the daily varied activities and entertainment. We can also join in with this too. We feel that Mom is safe and comfortable and we can call and visit whenever we want to.

After visiting the home a number of times for my grandmother, the number of concerns I have are frankly rising. The home is seriously understaffed, but purely due to the fact that NO senior staff will assist the hardworking care assistants. This was evident when my family were stuck in the garden with
another resident, and due to the staffing a senior member of staff was asked to assist and their response was "is there not an assistant you can ask?" All senior staff sit in offices discussing plans outside of work and ignore all visitors. Depending on the day of the week the food leaves a lot to be desired! For the cost per week a hot meals in the evening should be offered, but due to chefs leaving at lunch time only sandwiches offered. Weekends are even worse for staffing! Serious improvements are required and that starts with sufficient staffing or even senior staff assisting their team rather than chatting about TV and going out! Care assistants are the only positive here!
Reply from Sarah Edwards, Home Manager at Chasewater MewsThank you for taking the time to leave a review following your visit to Chasewater Mews. We genuinely appreciate feedback from family members and visitors, as it gives us the opportunity to reflect and continuously improve the care we provide.
We are sorry to hear that your recent experience did not meet your expectations.
1. Staffing and Support from Nursing Staff
We operate a collaborative team environment where nursing and care staff work closely together. It is not accurate that our senior staff do not support the care team—nurses regularly assist with day-to-day care where required. On the date in question, our nurses on duty do not recall the specific situation described regarding any refusal to assist. We have spoken with the staff members on duty at the time of your visit, and they do not recall any instance of inappropriate conversations .
Our Staffing Levels and Dependency are calculated using a dependency tool as set out by the County Council. This ensures our team is appropriately resourced based on the assessed needs of our residents. Management are available at a weekend in an emergency or prior appointments.
2. Resident Meal Choices , we are pleased to clarify that hot meals are available throughout the day including breakfast, lunch, tea, and supper. Our daily menu is displayed in the dining area, with a selection of alternatives always offered. Each resident is supported to make their own food choices, and the resident you mention is known to prefer options not listed on the standard menu. Our team gladly accommodates her preferences.
3. Access to the Garden and Resident Mobility, we were concerned to read your comment about a family member being “stuck” in the garden. This is not consistent with our environment or procedures. The conservatory door remains open during visiting hours, and staff are available in the lounge and communal areas to assist anyone who may need help moving between spaces. We have spoken with the staff members on duty at the time of your visit, and they do not recall any instance of inappropriate conversations .
We encourage all families and visitors to speak with a staff member during their visit if they have concerns, so we can address them promptly. A clear complaints procedure is displayed at the main reception area. We value your input and hope this response offers reassurance about the level of care and attention provided at Chasewater Mews.

After first setting foot inside St Thomas Priory we knew that this was the right place. It is currently undergoing a refurbishment and it is very impressive. There has been vast improvements here with the new owners in all aspects. Mom's room is very bright and spacious and we were able to take alot
of Mom's belongings and furniture to make her room feel more like 'home'. She has a lovely outlook over trees and fields. The home is in a beautiful setting surrounded by countryside with a lovely grassed courtyard. We are very pleased and satisfied with the care Mom is receiving. Staff and Management have recognised her individual care needs and acted upon them keeping us informed along the way. Mom is encouraged by staff to join in the daily varied activities and entertainment. The plentiful food is excellent and she can eat in the dining room or in her room. We feel that Mom is safe and comfortable and we can call and visit whenever we want to.
We would 100% recommend St Thomas Priory.

My 90-year-old aunt who suffers from dementia and severely restricted mobility, presents some quite challenging behaviour at times. She can be obstinate, cantankerous and verbally aggressive. She can also be fearful and anxious. In spite of this, the staff at Lytham Grange have always treated her with
respect, compassion and understanding. The atmosphere in this home is relaxed and cheerful. There are activities for those who enjoy them and more restful areas for those who are not so enthusiastic. Unfortunately, my aunt now requires more intensive nursing care and is to be moved, but we wish she could stay at Lytham Grange. We have nothing but praise for the care she has received. Thank you to all the team.

My parents were put in here as unable to fend for themselves at home, unable to stand or walk etc. I live in Australia so I had a month's stay and visited them most weekdays, very pleased with the care they are receiving of all staff from upper management to the cleaner ladies and lovely lady gardener.
There have been vast improvements here with new owners in all aspects. The meals are 5 stars, and personal care 5 stars, I'm very pleased they are well cared for as I live far away.

I would like to warn people thinking of putting people in this home, mostly the staff are cold and impatient, especially with needy patients, and its management thinks there is a law unto themselves and the power vacuum which covid brought to them, last Xmas which now turns out to be my mother's last.
Again never mind care, that's what they have said all along but considering we didn't see loved ones for two years, this place didn't think that was enough. Now considering I'd already experienced at my mother's previous home, with lockdowns and being in touch with public health England this is after all rules were finished, they told me that even if homes still decided to lockdown lately, they couldn't deny access or to take out a relative by their number one carer, so this they did last Xmas and there wasn't much I could do. Social services were closed. I told them this over and over but they still kept us apart the whole of Xmas, and I thought and said at the time with my mum's age 82, and as it turned out it was our last Xmas, my mother died recently.
