After a couple of falls at home, dad made the decision it was safer for him to be in residential care. He was treated with dignity and compassion and always felt listened to. The wonderful staff always adhered to his wishes, and made him feel welcome. Dad loved the home cooked meals and was never left
hungry, there seemed to be food on offer any time of the day. Dad loved the outdoor area where they have a patio which is an absolute sun trap, where the residence that were able would meet outside and have ice cream and a chat with their friends listening to bird song. They have a wonderful doctor who pops in weekly and also on request will come in to treat residents. He was amazing with my father, and even gave me his phone number and said I could call him at any time with any concerns over dad's health. What makes the care home so special are the staff, they are so loving and went above and Beyond for dad also our family. Thank you Towyn Capel .

It is always a very difficult decision to admit an elderly parent into residential care, but due to the geographical location of close family together with Dad's frailty/domestic situation (coal fire heating/hot water), we had little option following a fall in September 2023 resulting in two months
at hospital.
As Dad and his late wife had spent 37 happy years in Trearddur Bay, Towyn Capel was the obvious choice. We initially visited ourselves to see what options were available. We were met and shown around by the Manager who, cheerfully showed us numerous rooms. We settled on Room 17 due to its amazing sea view, something Dad was always drawn towards.
Sadly Dad passed away on 31st October but the entire time of his stay he was VERY well cared for, was safe and regularly told me how much he "loved it".
The staff are amazing, the food excellent & the care superb.
Dad left this earth a very happy man and at peace. Thank you Towyn Capel for everything.

My Mother's dignity was taken away, by being told that she was mardy. Also mouse droppings in her bedroom!
The way that the care home chooses to change the rules and regulations to suit themselves at short notice is disgusting and also has a lot of disrespect to anybody that dares to question or complain
about how it is run!
Reply from Parthi Kandasamy, Director at Balmoral HouseThanks, we take these matters very seriously. Unfortunately, we have no record or recollection of your experience with us or can we verify anything about you. Furthermore, your mother has instructed us not to discuss or involve you in any aspect of her care. Her recent email in July 2023 said that she knows all the staff at Balmoral House did a fantastic job to make her comfortable, going above and beyond and thanking us from the bottom of her heart.

Our neighbour was transferred to this home. Excellent and friendly staff. Our neighbour appears to have settled in very well. He looks clean, well-dressed and generally well-cared for. Nothing but praise for this care home.

My mother is aged 92 and is suffering from a combination of health problems. She has been at Balmoral House for over 4 years. She is very happy there mainly due to the kindness and warmth of the staff. It is a very difficult task to care for my mother due to her problems making it difficult to keep
her comfortable and manage pain etc.
The home is kept clean and tidy and encourages the residents to attend get-togethers, although my mother is now bedridden.
She is very happy there and I am always made very welcome when I visit.
They managed exceptionally well throughout the critical stage of the Covid period, protecting both residents, staff and visitors.
Reply from Parthi Kandasamy, Director at Balmoral HouseWe are so grateful for your kind words. Thanks for sharing your review with us and the community.

I have been visiting Balmoral House and find it very welcoming. The staff
all work hard and the residents always look happy. If I was ever to need
care for a family member this would be the place, with always something
going on and a great homely atmosphere. The manager is professional and
friendly.

My father has been a resident at Balmoral House for over two months. I anticipated the home selection and onboarding process would be extremely stressful but the Balmoral management team were excellent throughout reducing anxiety for all the family. The full care team whilst very professional are extremely
friendly, kind, caring and nothing is too much trouble. This and the friendly, calm and homely atmosphere in the home has been very evident that visits have aided my fathers settling in. As there are less than 20 residents the care seems very personal and the staff have quickly built good relationships with my father. Covid has had an impact on the home over the Christmas period but they immediately implemented sensible processes to keep the residents and staff safe. Well done and Thank You to the whole of the Balmoral team.
Reply from Caroline Williams, Manager at Balmoral HouseThank you so much, I and the team see it as an honour to support all that live at Balmoral House, every day we continue to look for ways to keep improving our service, we value feedback from families, again thank you so much for your review.

My Mum has been in Balmoral House since May 2021 she is very happy and settled there. The staff are all wonderful with her and put my mind at ease that she is cared for properly. I would highly recommend the home to anyone looking for a care home for a family member or friend.

My 86 year old mother was under Gwynfa care for two months. The service she endured was extremely poor, and two separate complaints were made to Gwynedd Council following serious failings by this care home. One of the incidents involved her not being able to see a doctor, where she had fallen on two
occasions and badly hit her head.
Every visit was without privacy and staff would constantly intervene talking about themselves and their interests, which was really annoying. During a short visit, I had two staff members interrupting our meeting. The girls were behaving as if they were social workers, where in reality they are employed as care workers. I had a support worker with me at the time who witnessed this and had to step in and tell them off.
This establishment is poorly managed.

I have nothing but praise for Balmoral House. It really is a home from home, with a lovely atmosphere. Mum has had excellent care for the last fifteen months. She has her own room or she can join the other residents in one of the two other lounges. She really enjoys the home-cooked food too. All diets
are catered for. Mum always said she would never go into a home but she was unable to look after herself even with carers. Now she tells us "I will spend the rest of my days here!". The staff are very kind and caring, they go to great lengths for the residents and families. The management and staff arranged a celebration for mum's 100th birthday. All the family appreciated the trouble they went to. Mum looks younger than ever with all the attention. Balmoral House has had a lot of challenges with Covid but they have kept everyone safe. Which is a credit to them. Thank you.

My mum has been with Balmoral House for 13 years. It is her home in every sense of the word. She has her own room and privacy to do her own thing or the opportunity to be with her friends and “neighbours “ that share with her Balmoral House.
She is now 86 and things for mum have changed health-wise
over the years but her happiness of being at Balmoral House hasn’t. The management and staff take particular care to ensure her changing needs are met and always in a kind and friendly way.
She enjoys the in-house entertainment games and music that is provided for all. The manager and staff help mum to listen to her own DVD player for her favourite music and TV shows in her room in private. They are helpful and accomodating to her changing needs all focused towards her happiness.
Mum enjoys the food provided in the dining room or occasionally evening meal in her room.
I particularly want to congratulate the manager and team for keeping mum and all safe during COVID19 Thank You.
Reply from James Williams, Manager at Balmoral HouseThank you for the lovely review Di. Mum's been residing at Balmoral House for just over a year now following 4 and half years being solely cared for by myself at home. I was dreading the time she needed more expert care and attention, but I need not to have worried at all. Mum settled in very quickly and has formed many lovely friendships
with both fellow residents and staff. The staff make Mum feel really special and loved and she's regained that sparkle in her eyes and enjoys lots of giggles. In fact, during the time she's spent there, the only thing she's mentioned she misses is my dog, and he is welcome to visit any time too. The food is always lovely and home-cooked with plenty of variety. The house itself is beautiful and very homely and has 2 TV lounges and a small quiet room too, and lovely tended gardens. It's like a home from home. Well done to management and all staff for making Balmoral House, a happy place to live.
Reply from James Williams, Manager at Balmoral HouseDear Joanne, thank you very much for the lovely review. Myself and the care team are pleased to hear, how happy you are with the care and support we are providing to mum. We are pleased you feel we have been able to bring that sparkle back into her eyes! I also can't disagree with you saying she loves a giggle!

It was rather a sad day today, clearing out her room at Towyn Capel. She had been residing there for over three and a half years. She was recently hospitalised and it has been decided that she will, in the future, require nursing care. Her next place of residence has yet to be decided, however her current
needs mean it will not be at Towyn Capel.
May I take this opportunity to thank the manager and all the staff, for their kindness, care and patience, while she resided at Towyn Capel. Whoever looks after her in the future will have a hard act to follow. In particular, I would like to thank the kitchen staff for the wonderful food they prepared for birthdays and other special occasions. The Christmas parties were always looked forward to, with all staff sparing no effort to make it a special occasion for the residents. I hope staff and residents remain safe and well in this difficult period, whilst looking ahead to less stressful times. Once again, thank you

We were extremely happy with all aspects of the care given to my mother in Towyn Capel.
The staff are highly trained, always friendly, cheerful and willing to help. They would
encourage Mum to move about, eat with other residents, and participate in events.
The leadership of this family run home is
strong and highly efficient. Medical issues
were dealt with effectively and fast. My mum came to feel that this was actually her
home, where she felt warm, comfortable and secure.
Thank you to all the staff for your warmth and friendship.
