Review of Kingsley Court from Katherine E (Mother of Resident) published on 26 January 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I couldn't be happier with the care my son receives at Kingsley Court. The manager and staff have strived to ensure they understand his complex needs and he has built up a really good relationship with them. He has a comprehensive care and behavioural plan which ensures his daily routines are appropriate and tailored to his needs. This has resulted in a significant reduction in his anxiety and associated self injurious behaviours. Covid has put a huge strain on the care staff at Kingsley and I can't thank them enough for keeping my son safe and stimulated during long periods when external activities had ceased. Thankfully, these activities are slowly coming back now and the staff are ensuring my son is taken to activities he enjoys such as swimming, trampolining, bowling and regular drives out. Soon he'll also be able to access horse riding, an evening disco and music therapy sessions which I know he will love. I truly believe my son has never been happier. Thank you Kingsley Court!

Overall Experience

My son loves living here. The house has a really homely atmosphere and the four residents are happy and content. They are given plenty of opportunities to take part in lots of different activities which my son really enjoys. He is fully supported by staff which enables him to live life to the full. He has made really strong relationships with staff which has helped his confidence and behavioural issues. The staff are kind and genuine and put the residents first above everything. All staff have worked extremely hard to ensure that my son can have access to activities such as horse riding, swimming, sports, social clubs, shopping etc. Staff are always available to speak to me and reassure me and I am completely confident with the care and support they give. Kingsley Court is fantastic. I couldn’t have found a better place for my son. It ticks all the boxes and I can’t believe how lucky we have been to find this wonderful place.

Review of Bainbridge Court from Andrew R (Father of Resident) published on 9 April 2018 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My son has been a resident at Bainbridge Court for four years, during which time he has been well cared for and treated with dignity. The staff are excellent, well meaning, caring and diligent on safety matters. A switch in leadership during 2017 went extremely well with no deterioration in support provided.
Good two way contact and regular updates from the Bainbridge team.

Accommodation standards i.e. bedroom, did deteriorate over the past couple of years but this has now been rectified. Overall I feel confident that my son is in a secure and safe environment where his needs are understood and supported.

Overall Experience

My son is 19 years old and has been a resident of Kingsley Court for 4 months. The staff are fantastic and very caring, although my son has only been there a short time, he has settled brilliantly thanks to the excellent support of all staff. He has a very active timetable and enjoys swimming, horse riding, eating out, trampolining, and attends a local Youth club and country walks. He is making such great progress in all areas of his life. I am so glad I picked Kingsley Court and seeing my son so happy and enjoying life and reaching his full potential.

My 21 year old son has been resident at Bainbridge Court for almost 4 years - I can't speak highly enough of the the amazing staff there who truly care ....he is happy, active busy and very much part of the community. He has a full curriculum and enjoys swimming, gardening, trampolining and youth clubs to name just a few of the activities on offer. Am so glad I chose Bainbridge for my son - he is thriving there - and living a life I always wished for him.

Review of Magellan House from Trudy B (Grandmother of Resident) published on 20 February 2018 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I have had a lot of dealing with the care industry over many years. Not just through the care needed for my granddaughter but through my work.
I can honestly say that I am extremely impressed with the way the staff care for the residents here. I always say that a good care team stems from good management and that is certainly true here.
The residents are thought of and entertained as individuals and their personal interests developed where possible.
So much care is put into special days like Valentine’s Day etc and especially birthdays.

My gram daughter is a changed person since she has lived here. She is blossoming and so happy. Which of course In turn makes is all happy.

Review of Magellan House from Julia H (Mother of Resident) published on 12 October 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our son moved into Magellan House at the beginning of July. To say we were apprehensive about the move was an understatement, however, all our worries soon disappeared as he settled in very quickly enjoying the company of the other residents, staff and management. Everybody involved in his care has worked so hard to help him adjust to his new setting, he loves all the activities and outings and is having a blast.
Magellan House has a lovely warm, homely feel and the care is outstanding.

Thank you so much to the manager and all your team.

Review of Magellan House from Liz S (Mother of Resident) published on 22 July 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My daughter moved to Magellan House in June. It is a new, refurbished house and much to her delight, she was able to choose the decoration in her room. The staff are friendly, approachable, compassionate and caring. There are lots of interesting activities going on all the time and are chosen with all of the young people's interests in mind. The manager's enthusiasm and empathy are amazing and this is reflected throughout Magellan House. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Overall Experience

When I first went to visit Magellan House I knew that I had to get my Daughter there. The vibrancy, positivity and overall feeling of the House was extremely impressive.

The balance of the clients, staff and management has been thoroughly thought through and the focus is on the client which is extremely refreshing.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this service provision.

Overall Experience

My daughter enjoys living at Magellan and despite only being there a short time is very happy. Lots of activities have been organised and my daughter has made friends with the staff who have plenty of energy and patience. Other residents are of a similar age and a good mix of abilities. Staff are always welcoming and open to visits from family. Thank you to staff at Magellan.

Review of Cabot House from Amanda K (Mother of Resident) published on 21 July 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Both my sons are extremely happy and settled at Cabot House. It has no "institution" feel about it. When you are there it feels very welcoming and like a family home. I love the way the staff and residents all sit down together and eat, just like a traditional family. I cannot praise the manager enough. She is very proactive and we have a very good relationship, a partnership with always the boys best interests at heart. The staff are excellent, very caring to both my sons and always giving that little bit extra.

I cannot fault the activities and outings arranged at Cabot. Always very varied programs, swimming, horse riding, visiting different places in cars, on trains and buses and tailored to the individual e.g. My elder son loves going to a certain town so that is often scheduled into his timetable. I cannot rate this home highly enough and it gives me great peace of mind knowing my sons are happy there and being so well cared for.
