Greenhive

The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming and my dad has felt relaxed and at home from the very beginning. The restrictions, due to Covid, have made visiting slightly more complicated but nevertheless, staff have done everything they can to make the process as easy as possible.

I have only visited three times so far but I have found the staff to be very helpful and cooperative. My uncle has expressed nothing but very positive views about his care. He is happy here. The physical environment is excellent, warm and clean,

Very helpful and caring staff, if I have concerns about my mum they will (depending) find out information for me or give information to contact department, hospital or doctors myself. Mum is happy here although it's taken a while for her to settle.

Greenhive care home is lovely and clean, the carers are friendly and helpful. I am very happy with the care they give my nan. The rooms are nice and have been decorated recently. The catering is good with lots of variety.

My concerns about my mother entering full-time care have been completely removed by the Greenhive team. They have shown consistent and wonderful levels of care and compassion for my mother and her family. Always professional and efficient when they need to be and friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Great place - thank you!

Greenhive was recommended to us by a trusted colleague who, having been a nurse in an earlier career, prioritised quality of care when looking for a home for her parent. My mother presented the staff with many challenges during her trial period. She is now, in her own words, “settled” and “at home” - a testament to their kindness, patience, and understanding of how advancing dementia can affect behaviour. Her physical ailments are monitored thoroughly (in one case, even rectified) and the extent to which we are kept informed of developments has allowed us to remain actively involved in her medical care. The decision to put a loved one into a home is not easy, and particularly so if you have spent many years delivering hands-on care yourself. Much like sending a child to school, you are entrusting the welfare of a precious person to someone else. Thank you, Greenhive, for stepping up to that responsibility so well. The phones are still a bit shonky, though.

My husband has reached the point in life where he needs 24-hour medical care which I'm unable to give. This means he now resides at Greenhive care home where it is clean and staff are very welcoming. Each visit they are all friendly to me and loving despite my husband's behaviour due to his choice of words. He can also use hurtful words at times but they understand and it does not stop any carers from doing their job. I have nothing but good words to say about Greenhive care home especially as it was a great pleasure to be asked to accompany my husband to visit the doctor. I hope they continue with their good work and faith.

My Mum has been a resident at Greenhive for a number of years. We visited numerous homes and came up with a top 3 list of which Greenhive was one. Fortunately, there was a vacancy when Mum needed it. Prior to the pandemic, we were able to visit for lengthy periods, so were able to engage with staff and were always welcomed. Throughout the pandemic, we have been able to communicate with Mum via the Greenhive Whatsapp and window visits and finally bookable visits to see her. The staff work hard to accommodate our requests for visits and make them go smoothly. I am looking forward to being able to have lunch alongside my Mum at some point in the future.

I have found the care, compassion and respect shown by the staff towards my dad to be exemplary. They show infinite patience and enthusiasm in looking after the residents. Very importantly, they are always happy, positive and upbeat.

At a time when Covid 19 has made life difficult for everyone and access to the home is limited forming an opinion of Greenhive is also difficult. In general, though my experience is good. The staff are very kind, caring and cheerful which I value above all else. The training appears to vary from highly trained to needing more training. For example, Dad has had his hearing aids put in the wrong ear several times while I was there and so with this painful experience he now won't let anyone put them in and therefore can't hear. Putting in hearing aids should be a basic part of training for working with the elderly. Also, the level of communication could be improved. Sometimes my emails are left unanswered and I am not sure that all staff are in communication with each other? So I am not sure they are aware of Dad's condition - this is a worry I have not a fact, but it is also the impression I have formed over the weeks. Also, the phone used by the carehome for residents to speak to their loved one has a problem with the volume - which does not work properly. So they need a new phone or loved ones cannot hear what you are saying and neither can the carers. I hope you find the above helpful and constructive.

Despite the Covid situation preventing me from contact with my dad, I am happy with the overall care he is having from the friendly staff. We understand the situation and look forward to seeing him in person in due course when the pandemic is over.

My friend is new to this home and care setting. So far, I am very happy to see her settled and being cared for 24-hours. The carers and receptionists I've met so far have been wonderful, especially when asking specific questions! Would recommend this home to others.

My mother, who has Alzheimer's, recently moved into Greenhive. She has been a very challenging resident and it will take some time for her to settle in, but the staff have been very kind, caring, professional and understanding - they always keep me informed of developments. I have visited Greenhive a few times to drop off belongings for my mother and have had the opportunity to speak with staff in person and over the phone. The staff I have spoken with are always thoughtful, diligent and willing to go that extra mile. I would definitely recommend Greenhive to friends and family based on my interactions with the staff.

I have only had garden visits with my sister due to restrictions. I can not say much about the inside of the home because I have not been allowed to go in. My sister tells me how nice it is and what activities they have been doing and she seems quite happy to be there.

I am very happy with the service provided to my mother at Greenhive. The staff are honest about things and do not hide anything, they keep me updated. The manager holds Zoom meetings with family members and updates us on any progress in the organisation which is reassuring at this time at this scary time.

I would highly recommend Greenhive to anyone looking for a care home for a relative. The care provided, in my opinion, is excellent and the carers are so kind and loving to all residents.

The staff have been very caring and helpful at this difficult time. I would like to express my grateful thanks for their support. One small matter, he always needs plenty of stimulation - the quiz from the internet was a good idea, and I hope there will be more occasions. Also, the visit to the garden was good. Any opportunity for music or signing would be appreciated.
