My name is Nicole Smith, and I am honoured to serve as the Senior Lead Nurse at Waterside Care Home. I joined the team in 2023 to support the launch of the Avon Unit, bringing with me over seven years of nursing experience spanning acute hospital care, care homes, and specialist palliative care within the community. Being part of the Avon Unit’s development from the ground up has been both a rewarding and professionally enriching experience.
Throughout my career, I have developed a deep passion for caring for others—particularly those with complex needs and at vulnerable stages of life. Hello My Name is Theresa, the Resident Ambassador here at Waterside. Having worked in the NHS for many years, campaigned with Friends Of The Earth, and worked as a Medical Secretary, I have the experience of getting to the bottom of what people need.
It is my pleasure to be a voice for the residents here at our home, and personally I believe that discussions are important for everyone. I endeavour to take into account the cost of things that we may want, whilst being reasonable and considering, will it be really useful, and is it worth it, as being organic, and fair trade is of interest to me.
I am proud to be a resident here at Waterside, and look forward to welcoming future residents to our home, whilst being committed to helping shape activities, and experiences for current and future residents.
