Weybourne care home, located in the leafy heart of Abbeywood in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, is a care facility providing residential care for older people living with dementia.

Weybourne provides a wealth of support services for people living with dementia, with the aim of not just providing care and comfort, but also a new, positive and more engaging stage in their lives. The team of qualified and attentive staff provides 24-hour person-centred dementia care.

The home provides a central courtyard garden that is safe and secure allowing residents to relax and enjoy outdoor activities.

At the heart of Weybourne is its philosophy of care, The Eden Alternative, where social interaction and engagement is encouraged and boredom is eradicated by addressing the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom within the home.

I would like to give a note of praise to the entertainment manager. His efforts to brighten up the home with Xmas decorations have made a big difference. Staff very friendly and will go beyond their job roles to make sure residents are well cared for and happy took Mum out and you could see from social media what a wonderful time she had she might not remember her outing but we certainly will. They had a wonderful Christmas party and took time to involve
all the residents could not speak more highly of the care Mum receives.

I am surprised at the level of care and love extended to residents my opinion is that Weybourne is more like a holiday camp. You hear so many bad things regarding care homes I don't know if this is an exception or the norm but very pleased. My mom is here and being looked after so well. Thank you Weybourne.

As requested I always notify the home of the day and time I will be visiting to take my aunt out for lunch. I ask them not to give her lunch that day and if possible have her ready at reception. Staff are meant to record the information in the notifications book. Unfortunately, the last 2 times I visited,
my aunt was eating lunch in the dining room. I still took her out, but it spoiled the lunch trip out.

My mother-in-law has settled in really well. She told me that she is very contented and feels safe. The gardens are lovely and calm to sit and chat. Your staff are all very welcoming and you can feel how much they care for all your residents.

Friendly, clean and caring is how I describe Weybourne. Most of the staff are absolutely lovely and are constantly busy. They cannot do enough for their residents. There are some fantastic ideas being talked about too, I just hope they are given the go-ahead and funding to complete them.
Quick mention
to one particular member for her all-round abilities in the care home, she seems to go the extra mile every day and to another for his enthusiasm and dedication to making sure there is constant entertainment so the residents don’t sit about doing nothing.
Well done and thank you team for giving these people some sense of worth and well-being.
