My nan sadly was only there for 6 months after grandad passed away and I do not think the family could havd asked her to be in a nicer place.

They catered to her every need, put up with visits from someone every other if not every weekend.

Always got the vibe that they were not their just to do

a 9-5 job and go home the staff actually cared.

An amazing place for a loved one to call their home. Staff are so caring and helpful and the place is run by the manager who works from dusk till dawn making sure the staff and residents are really looked after. So happy my mother spent her last few years there loved and cared for.

We were extremely fortunate to find Hanwell House and get a room for my father. We are eternally grateful to the manager. The care my father received from the staff at Hanwell House was outstanding. Within a week, my father gained weight, his hair and beard and toenails were trimmed and he looked great.
My father had space and freedom to roam around and he had lots of lovely residents to sit with and talk to. He had been very lonely at home, the staff fussed over him 24/7 and encouraged him to join in with all the activities. He had wine with his home-cooked dinners every night (alcohol-free) and his room was personalised with all his pictures and artwork and he could listen to his jazz music and watch his movies. Hanwell House for us was outstanding.

The manager and the team at Hanwell House have looked after my brother, who had Alzheimer’s, for the past five years until his death this month. They have been very caring in all respects and the manager, is always there to talk to relatives, and the staff make everyone welcome at any time of day and
always with refreshments. There is nearly always some form of entertainment under way and lots of interaction with the staff. They could not have looked after my brother’s needs better.

I held PoA for a dear friend of 36 years who had always maintained he did not want to go into a care home. So it was with trepidation that I visited Hanwell House with a view to moving my friend there when his TBI and Dementia became too much for him to continue living without full-time care.
I can't
impress upon anyone how happy my friend was here. He spent every day downstairs in the main lounge, participating in the activities (he loved the sensory table) and dancing to the music.
It was clear to me when I visited that he was so very happy. He had something which had been missing for many years and that was a family.
When I hear some of the stories from friends with relatives in the care home setting, I can not believe our good fortune.
Hanwell was able to facilitate him passing in his own bed with the support of palliative care, which was important to him. I am extremely grateful and humbled by their love and care. Everyone who works there should be very proud.

My uncle became a resident at Hanwell House last March until he passed away after a stroke on 1st Jan 2018. I can not recommend Hanwell House and their wonderful caring and very professional staff highly enough.

My uncle was very happy and made to feel very welcome at Hanwell House and the staff

do go way above to make sure the residents are looked after so carefully and thoughtfully and all the staff are a credit. Thank you, Hanwell House.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.096)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.096) out of 10 for Hanwell House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Hanwell House is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.096 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hanwell House is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.096
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
