Kent House is a fantastic Residential Care Home specialising in Dementia care and is located in a quiet residential cul-de-sac in Harrow Weald off Long Elms Road.

There is always an event or an occasion to celebrate at Kent House, the staff make sure they hold many activities so that their residents are always on their toes with exciting things to do. Kent house always welcomes visiting families and friends to join in on the fun, no one is left to feel out of place or unwelcomed.

When Mum was transferred to a nursing home in December, men's clothing was included in the suitcase, half of her clothes had gone missing along with her watch. Also, her clock which has subsequently been found. Everything was creased and some items dirty in the suitcase, medication wasn’t ready along
with the balance of her sundries account and the staff all seemed to be avoiding us.

My dad recently moved into the care home as he was placed by social services. The care home is far from where I live, but the management has been very considerate with their visiting times to enable me to come and see my dad. The staff are nice and always helpful when I call and need information regarding
my dad. My dad says good things about the staff, and I always feel he is in a safe place and well looked after.

Avoid! On 13.10.22 my father was placed here by social services. A two-week placement became three months!
Poorly managed establishment.
Despite registering with Kent House's GP, still no regular diabetic checks three months on.
Medication: Out of stock on many occasions.
Food: Not nice. We spent
a lot of funds on external food delivery services.
Heating! Stopped working many times, October to December 2022.
Neglect! My father had diarrhoea and was not attended to until I demanded they call 911 due to bleeding.
Ignored - A official complaint against a senior staff member was ignored.
Smell - 1st floor is very bad, strong Urine and excrement smell.
Bedsheets - not changed regularly despite requests.
On 05/01/23, I moved my father to another home. Only two days' worth of meds was provided and some meds missing as confirmed by the new home manager.
Kent House and the new home are worlds apart! My father is very happy in his new home and my stress is 100% reduced.

Visited my father-in-law during his respite in Kent House, and the caring staff was very helpful. My father-in-law appeared well and happy in the care home.
My father-in-law speaks well about the home since he retuned back to his home.

I found Kent House care come to be a good place for my dad to be looked after. The care home is very secure and I felt my dad was safe and well looked after.
The team leader was helpful and always got back to me with replies to any queries I had.

A huge thank you to all members of staff for their hard work and care provided throughout the covid pandemic. My dad's care over the last few months appears to be excellent. I genuinely cannot praise the carers enough, their patience, kindness and affection is exemplary. The home is well run, spotlessly
clean and always welcoming. My dad is happy and content, whilst receiving the best care possible. Thank you all!

My mum went to Kent House in July 2020. From the manager onwards, the staff have been friendly, caring, sympathetic and flexible.
Mum settled well after a slow start, but has suffered a setback since a fall which has undermined her confidence and mobility. Staff have been encouraging and patient.
Food is good as is hygiene and suggestions have been taken on board when offered.
Response to the Covid pandemic has been thorough such that the number of positive cases has been minimal and all due to outside visits. It's frustrating that visits have been curtailed but safety first is right.
Overall, Mum is settled; as a family we are happy with the choice we made for her.

My mother has been in Kent House twice now. Both times for a month's respite due to health problems at home. Each time she has left Kent House, her health and well being have been much improved. In fact, this time she actually had mixed feelings about returning home as she had made friends whilst in

It was lovely seeing Mum today. My main worry was that she would not recognise me after a five month gap. Sadly she became upset. But pleased I came. Mum is well looked after and we have peace of mind. Well done Kent House.

Kent House staff have shown such care and professionalism that has been so reassuring to us. I am deeply grateful. My mother is treated with kindness and respect. Cleanliness and efficiency too. There has been good communication with the staff, especially during this sad and difficult pandemic period.
The home was very proactive to protect the residents.

I really appreciate the fact that the staff have kept the home Covid free.
The visit was well planned and organised. They were flexible with the length of stay, considering I had not seen my dad for three months.

Kent House, it's management and staff have all been magnificent throughout the COVID-19 lockdown. They have been well trained and executed social distancing really well throughout the last three months. Specifically, my mother has been extremely well looked after. The staff have managed to maintain
full service and have even managed to establish an entertainment and event programme despite the difficulties. Long may it continue and looking to a post lockdown party.

My father had a great amount of care for his 3 weeks of respite when my mother went away on a well-deserved break. During the COVID-19 outbreak, my father contracted the virus, but the care home was absolutely amazing in making sure he was comfortable during his symptoms and also his transition to the
hospital. We were kept informed all the way and the care home staff really made sure that my father's best care was put in place. Thank you.

New management has made a change. The staff, as always, are really helpful and kind to my mother. They are very attentive and know the particular foibles of each of their residents. Dementia care is particularly difficult & the patience of the staff is admirable. I know it is their job but it must get
very wearing sometimes with the pressures the staff are under.

Always find the staff very helpful. It's good to know my mom is being well looked after. She is always happy when I visit which is very reassuring. Always says the food is very good.

We cannot speak highly enough about Kent House. The staff are excellent, much of the reason for this is the example set by the managers, they are excellent. We are very grateful for the kindness and care they show to all of the residents, it's a joy to see.

Ebbie has worked within the health and social care sector since 2008. Before becoming a home manager, Ebbie's journey with Gold Care Homes began as a deputy home manager and a regional support manager. Ebbie's roles essentially entailed offering constant support and assistance to several homes within a specific region. Ebbie has obtained a qualification in Leadership and Management Level 5. He is very passionate about the quality of care provided within the homes and is a champion of staff progression within the company.
