Mother is well looked after, she has been resident for about 4 years and has made friends with other residents and staff. Facilities and rooms are well designed and after current upgrading will be excellent. Care is improving with the current new manager and staff.

Although dad did not want to be in care, he is slowly accepting that this is the only option. The care he receives is very good which is improving now there is new management and have a more stable staff.

Our cousin lived in Kent House for several years. She was very content and made many friends. The staff were supportive and caring and coped as her health deteriorated. She felt that Kent House was her home.

An overall good standard of care. My uncle is looked after well by the staff and treated with care and dignity. His room is kept clean and tidy and he is always dressed smartly by the carers and helped to shower and keep good levels of personal hygiene. He takes part in a wide and varied range of activities which are laid on by the activities organiser. These are something he enjoys doing on a daily basis.

My father was transferred directly from the hospital to Kent House after illness made it unsafe to return home. At first, he was unsure and confused but with care and attention from the staff at Kent House he has settled in as is improving all the time. He is eating better and has made friends with some of the residents. Our main concern for him is that he is well cared for 24 hours a day. He is clean, well fed and has a lovely room and is free to move around at his own pace. I am so pleased with the care he is receiving at Kent house.

There was disruption from about the end of October to the beginning part of the year. Whatever happened, the good staff left, one after the other. The home now have a good team again - the girls are very kind, but there has always been a lack of troops on the ground. I am not blind and stupid, I go in daily, and although 'the powers' like to deny it, that is the plain truth.

These residents need a one to one at times - the girls are willing, but they have a hard job and it's over-hot in the summer and the same in winter, unbearable. On the positive side, the girls are kind and the home is not depressing. An excellent office person leaving knows her stuff, but instead of valuing an experienced staff member and getting her maybe part-time help, you'll replace and then the next person will have the same problem. That's stupid.

My father-in-law was here in August for a few months and he had the best care we could have ever wanted. The senior carer was very helpful and one of the carers in particular who was with my father-in-law was so lovely. Couldn't fault the staff. Lovely place.

My mother moved into Kent House two weeks ago and has already made friends with other residents. Her room has been recently updated and provides excellent accommodation. The staff are helpful, friendly and polite and the food is freshly prepared, attractively presented and varied. She has used the hairdressing facility and also has daily newspaper and weekly magazine delivered. She looks forward to any forthcoming entertainment and activities which may be organised in the future.

I call in to see my mum once or twice a week usually in the afternoons but sometimes in the mornings. She is always clean and dressed appropriately. She has put on weight since being here (June of this year) she likes the food and is always being offered a hot or cold drink with biscuits and cakes. The home is clean and well ordered. The staff are the best bit though without exception they are caring and kind, patient to the end and very considerate to the needs of their ladies and gents. They all deserve a medal. The only criticism I have is that on the odd occasion the staff all seemed to be tied up in one room and that can leave another room unsupervised although never for very long.
