My brother has been a full time resident of Esther Care Homes since May 2011.
The care, support and attention he receives from staff is excellent.
He has become a much happier and healthier person since living there.
The staff are always pleasant and look after all his needs in a respectful and timely
manner.
They regularly take him out and every year he goes on holiday with the other residents and staff.
I am so pleased he is there and wouldn't want him to go anywhere else.

I have found the Owner, the Manager and all the staff very helpful and supportive of all requests from myself about my brother's health, finances, activities and interests; in the home. Holidays and outings are arranged.
Their care, respect and understanding is impressive; celebrating birthdays and
special occasions for all of the service users. This makes for a family atmosphere with the option to be quiet or to do their own activity in their own room if preferred.
The home, my brother's room and clothes are always clean and fresh. Personal care is given when needed but with encouragement to know what to do himself, with respect and guidance as appropriate.
He is escorted to any medical appointments and I am kept up to date when necessary of any issues. Healthy meals are served to the service users in the communal dining area.
My brother has his own room with an on-suite shower room, he is happy and enjoys his life.

I have been visiting the home for several years and find the staff and management to be very welcoming and accommodating. I have observed staff with very good professional relationships with the service users. I get regular feedback of trips, events and health monitoring. The staff to service user
ratio is consistent and the ability to share time alone with my brother is accommodated and he is always well dressed and kept. He is aware of his surroundings and his right to ask for amenities etc. There is also a lovely garden and setting of the home. During COVID the home addressed all health and safety issues whilst accommodating family visits. I highly recommend this home to any prospective service users and their families

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
