My father moved into Warren Lodge (WL) in January 2024 after a year of living at home with a live-in carer. I can honestly say that the staff at Warren Lodge could not have been more welcoming and sensitive. We were able to decorate his room with his own furniture and pictures on the walls. He stayed
at WL for just under two years with gradually declining cognitive ability. Again the WL staff were about as caring and sensitive as they could be - they not-only treated my father well, but also welcomed any visitors that came to see him at pretty much any time of the day. They were sensitive to his medical needs; arranging chiropody, doctors appointments even mental health specialists as necessary. I mean no disrespect to his live-in carers but the care he received at WL was streets ahead of the care he received at home. One always worries about "putting one's father in a home", but I really have no regrets on the decision we made, to entrust our father's final days to WL

From the moment we contacted Warren Lodge all staff were welcoming knowledgeable and helpful. After viewing some other care homes we knew that Warren Lodge was the right place for our mum.
It has a homely feeling and excellent staff who really care. The home is well managed and the care is modelled
from the top down. All staff are involved with each resident.
The activities are fantastic we go in and see my Mum smiling, joining in and thriving. There is always something to do
The care home has such a family feel, we always leave knowing my mum is safe; stimulated and respected.
My mum's overall well being has improved dramatically since moving to Warren Lodge and we are confident this was the best decision we could have made.
The team keep us up to date; communication is exceptional. Families are always welcome , without needing to arrange specific visits.
We highly recommend Warren Lodge and are grateful for their exceptional level of care.

Warren Lodge is not just a care home, it's a home that cares.
It was an emotional time when our family had to make the choice to admit dad to a home. We were all very sceptical and wondered how my mum would cope, however Warren Lodge and all of the staff exceeded our expectations. Dad only resided for
a month and within that time the care and emotional support we received was excellent. We were lucky enough to spend New Years Eve with dad and enjoyed singing and dancing to the dementia disco. 3 days before dad sadly passed away all our family celebrated his 90th birthday. The staff put on an amazing buffet and decorated the dining room to accommodate everyone. This was above and beyond expectations. They also arranged for a mention on the local radio. I can't praise the staff enough for all of their support and care throughout dads time with them.

I had to make a difficult decision for my mum due to myself becoming ill , Sadly she only stayed in Warren Lodge from August to November 2025 when she passed but I can honestly say even though it was hard to have her move out of her home I couldn't have asked for better care that the staff at Warren
Lodge gave to my mum, Goce the manager and all the staff was so understanding, kind and patient and also gave me a warm welcome whenever I visited , I couldn't have been happier to see my mum looking so good with the care they all provided to keep my mum looking clean and well presented, and how clean the home is and the meals looked very appetising , I thank you all so much for your dedication, I would recommend anyone to go to Warren Lodge and experience the wonderful care they provide and lovely atmosphere there, thank you all so very much .

My sister has been in Warren Lodge, Finchampstead for sometime now and at first I was nervous about visiting her but there was absolutely no need for me to be. My sister is very happy, and is very well cared for and she loves the staff. Her room is lovely and she has been able to have some of her favourite
things surround her. The staff are amazing, they are so welcoming each time I visit. As I live in Yorkshire my visits are infrequent nevertheless they always find us space to sit so we can visit and be with her for as long as we want. I would highly recommend you watch the videos they post, you get a real sense of the home and you can see how happy the residents are. It was her birthday at the beginning of January and it was lovely to see her birthday celebration video with all her family and staff singing to her.

My fantastic grandmother resided at Warren Lodge in the last year. We picked this home knowing it would very probably be her last after it was no longer possible for her to live independently. It is a great comfort to us that actually we had picked a truly excellent home with the most caring and expert
staff. They really could support her very well with her dementia needs and being part of a small community again with the activities, made her life a lot more interesting and enjoyable but crucially a lot safer than we could have managed caring for her at home. The visits we had could be enjoyed due to excellent situation. For the last weeks during end of life care she continued to receive the best care and support, and as a family visiting we were also greatly supported. Yet at the same time we could see staff making the Christmas season special for other residents, how they are able to switch mentally and handle all situations can't be easy.

We had to make the difficult decision that mum needed more care than we could offer at home last January. We chose Warren Lodge, after looking around a few. Mum settled within a couple of weeks and is now happier and healthier than she's been for a while.
Goce, the manager, and every member of his
team are wonderful. They're friendly, give a warm welcome and most importantly offer mum the best care we could have hoped for. They're supportive to us as well. The kindness and patience they've shown mum (and the family) is immeasurable.
Warren Lodge offer a variety of activities, outings and entertainment - all of which mum enjoys, especially the craft sessions and sing alongs. We can't thank Warren Lodge staff enough and would recommend anyone looking for care for a loved one, to go and visit. We have found the warm welcome starts the minute the door is opened.

Sadly my Dad has just passed away at Warren Lodge after nearly two years of superb care. Right up to the end. He was looked after so well, from the moment he went in there in Jan 2024 - he didn't want to leave. He was very comfortable. Always washed, dressed and shaved. The house and grounds are so
large and beautiful. The events programme is fabulous - party's and singalongs and special themed events. I have just come back from the Christmas Lights switch on with a live singer. But it's the management and care staff that really make this a wonderful place to be in. A lot of the carers have been there for years and you can see are happy there. Which means that the residents are calm, content and well cared for. I really couldn't fault it and I'm so glad that my dad had such kind care in his last years. I will miss Warren Lodge and all the Angels that work there.

Everyone is really kind - to me but also to my wife. They explain how things are, they're very polite, everyone always greets you. Melody is always really chatty, I feel very welcome and at home when I come to visit. I've never felt restricted on when I can visit, they are always happy for you to pop
in without arranging it, you're never made to feel unwelcome. My wife is always well cared for, she looks neat and tidy and smells good! she can't do anything at all for herself, so you can see she's being looked after by everyone at Warren Lodge. The events are really lovely for all the family. My wife is at the stage that she can't appreciate them but we are always invited to join in, which gives us important family time that we wouldn't otherwise get. They do a great job including us all. The interior displays on the dementia unit are really good, fun to look at, even for me! Goce, Melissa, Kate, Edith, Charne and all the team are wonderful, thank you everyone for all you do.

I moved my mother to Warren Lodge from a care home in Devon where she had been placed by the local authority, because I was not happy with the care being provided there. The move to Warren Lodge was a transformative experience. She was very well cared for by the staff of Warren Lodge who were also always
very welcoming of me and other family members who visited my mother. The philosophy of Warren Lodge is to prioritise the needs of the residents, ensuring they are treated sensitively and with respect. In my experience, Warren Lodge delivered on these principles throughout the time that my mother was there. The staff group is stable and well led, the key ingredients for good quality care. The staff knew my mother well, and were very understanding of her needs. We got to know them well too. I and my family were extremely pleased and satisfied with the care given to my mother.

My husband and I have been residents in Warren Lodge for 2 1/2 years. All residents' bedrooms are comfortable with ensuites, which are thoroughly cleaned every day. Rooms can be furnished as personally as one wishes. All staff are kind, friendly and helpful, they try to fulfil one's every wish. We have
regular entertainment and activities. The gardens are extensive and beautifully kept. Rooms and building are very tastefully decorated and are continually being updated . Relatives are always kept well informed of activities etc. Having spoken to other residents we all feel lucky to be living in such a lovely home, no wonder it has a 10 out of 10 rating.

Earlier this year it became apparent that my father was no longer able to care for my stepmother following a stroke 2 years prior. She moved into a local care home but did not settle well.Having looked at alternative homes, none compared with the warmth and understanding shown to us by the manager and
staff at Warren Lodge. They took the time to listen and understand her needs, and the deputy manager spent much time liaising with medical staff to ensure that she settled better this time.Sadly, after only a few weeks, my stepmother had a sudden seizure from which she did not regain consciousness.During this time, the staff provided attentive, compassionate round the clock end of life care, always treating her with dignity and respect. They also gave incredible comfort and support to my father at her bedside, providing him with lunch, and even sandwiches to take home for his supper.
Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff and we cannot thank them enough. They are a first class team.

The whole idea of moving my Mum into a care home was daunting. We visited many and none felt right. From the moment we walked into Warren Lodge we knew we had found the right place. The warmth, professionalism and genuine compassion was evident immediately. My Mum was made to feel at home with staff
taking time to know her interests, routines and the little things that make her smile.

The care home manager is always welcoming, approachable, and attentive. He demands the highest standards of care. Warren Lodge is always spotless, well maintained, and welcoming. Mum enjoys the food every day.
There are lots of activities ensuring the residents are stimulated socially, mentally and physically. There are regular events where families can come along and join in. Warren Lodge has an atmosphere of genuine kindness. I know that Mum is very happy, and as a family, we have total peace of mind knowing she is safe, happy and very well cared for.

The staff at Warren Lodge were notable from the very first phone call; the time they gave us, their listening skills, their understanding and knowledge as well as their kind, supportive nature.
We were looking for residential care for my mum (Parkinson's) and my dad (Alzheimer's). The two members
of staff we met the most were outstanding in their care of us as a family. They were gentle with mum and dad (as were everyone) answered all of our questions, had thoughtful advice and showed kindness throughout.
We visited several times and were warmly welcomed every time. We visited many care homes but Warren Lodge shone out for us. We saw so much good practice and they had lovely ways to make it feel like a big family home, the room available was perfect for them.
Mum and dad were due to move this April but dad died unexpectedly. During this time the staff continued to be kind, supportive and helpful, they really go the extra mile. As a family we can't thank them enough.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.977)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.977) out of 10 for Warren Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 51 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.977 for Warren Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (591 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 605 Ratings = 4.977
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Warren Lodge is based on 51 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 51 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
