My husband moved into Warren Lodge in November 2022, suffering from dementia. We were very concerned about the care he would receive but it very quickly became obvious that we had made the right choice. Every member of staff there goes above and beyond their duty of care not only to my husband but to
the rest of the family as well, including the dog.
The staff know their residents' likes and dislikes so although there were activities happening in the lounge my husband was always taken back to his room if there was a football match on television.
There are no words I can say to express the appreciation my family and I feel towards all the staff at Warren Lodge. They are simply amazing.

Like many people, making the decision to move a family member into a care home is incredibly difficult. But what made the experience at Warren Lodge exemplary is the care and attention they gave to my father and to our family to make this as comfortable as possible. My father spent his final 1.5 years
at Warren Lodge, having battled Alzheimer's for several years. Immediately, I could see how happy he was, often commenting on the kind staff and the delicious food he encountered. I would regularly visit with my 2 young children, who referred to Warren Lodge as 'Grandad's holiday house'. They weren't far off - the staff were so welcoming, offering them ample snacks and things to keep them entertained (they especially enjoyed the vast garden area). What makes WL so special - the staff! They're incredibly caring and committed individuals, ensuring residents and their families are well cared for. Communication is brilliant and I urge anyone considering a care home to visit the WL team.

My Mum has now been at Warren Lodge for approx. 2.5 years. Initially very reluctant to leave her home, she soon adapted to her new life and is very happy - particularly enjoying the meals and attention of those caring for her.
I am relieved that she is safe and being cared for 24 hours a day and that
any issues are immediately advised to the family and are dealt with quickly.
The care she is receiving is kind and attentive.
My interactions with carers etc have been friendly, informative and explanatory when necessary.
I am very pleased that Warren Lodge was chosen for my Mother.

Mum has been at Warren Lodge since December and we feel so lucky to have found a space for Mum here. Every single member of staff has been absolutely amazing with settling in and looking after Mum and also looking after all of us during the time Mum has been there. Every time we visit we know we have
made the right choice moving Mum to Warren Lodge, we cannot express how thankful we are for everyone there.

My Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and became unable to care for herself, myself and family tried our best to home care for her needs. Unfortunately, this became increasingly difficult and we decided the best way for Mum was to go into a care home where they could meet her needs.
We were recommended
Warren Lodge so after taking Mum for a visit and meeting the staff, seeing the lovely house and gardens we knew Mum would be happy there.
Mum soon settled into her new home and got to know the staff. I must say I cannot fault the staff, my Mother could be quite a challenge at times but they cared for her with kindness, very caring, and understanding her needs.
I felt a great relief that I found Warren Lodge and I no longer had concerns about her not getting the right care she needed. I just knew the staff would look after my Mum.
Myself and family soon became friends with the staff and enjoyed our visits.
Sadly, aged 91, my Mother passed away. I will always be so grateful to Warren Lodge!

My aunt has now been at this care home for 18 months since she came for respite care. We were initially visited by the home manager and I immediately warmed to his manner and ethos. My aunt could stay for just the week or as long as needed but she has not left. She has Alzheimer's and it did take a
while for her to settle but we worked through this time - it is to be expected that she would ask 'to go home'. Now she just says it is lovely there and wants to be reassured that she can stay. The staff have always been so supportive to both of us. They are friendly and welcoming and there is always a cup of tea and biscuit awaiting. The food is excellent, provided by the amazing chef. She spends the day with others in the lounge/dining area so there is plenty of conversation, care and also activities from the wonderful life enrichment team, including events to which we are all invited. To conclude, I and, more importantly, my aunt, are very happy with this 'home from home'.

Following a fall in the kitchen, fracturing a bone in my white elbow and being right-handed, my ability to carry out the usual household chores was severely restricted. Whilst my husband endeavoured to assist in every aspect clearly it was an impossible task. The home manager visited me at very short
notice, making arrangements for me to enter the home the next day. His kindness and wanting to assist in every way possible can only be described as perfection. Apart from the home manager the staff at the home also showed me compassion and provided excellent care during my two-week stay at the home.

My wife and I are both in our 80s. My wife had a chronic lower back pain condition, but following a fall in the kitchen fracturing a bone in her right elbow made her feel considerably unwell. In the circumstances, I held the view that I was unable to provide the nursing and care my wife deserved. Having
approached the home on a Saturday evening, I was grateful the home manager visited us in our home the next day, Sunday, and my wife was safely admitted to the home on the following day Monday. Apart from expressing my sincere thanks to the home manager I also thank the staff at the home who showed compassion and provided excellent care during my wife's two week stay at the home.

Warren Lodge can only be described as outstanding from the time we met the team, tasted the food and experienced the many parts of the home. We felt our father was treated like a member of a large family with love, compassion and care. The whole family felt reassured and were always warmly welcomed
at any time. If you are considering care for a loved one wthn we would highly recommend a visit to Warren Lodge.

Warren Lodge is in my opinion, the best care home in the area. I looked at 40, it was really important to find Dad, a dementia sufferer, ground floor accommodation where he could walk outside in the garden.
The most important is the manager, who is professional, caring, compassionate and a great team
leader.
His team is very special, well trained, stable, sympathetic to their individual residents' needs, flexible, thoughtful and full of empathy to their residents, but also, to the families involved in this journey.
At 90, sadly my dad passed away recently. The care that they gave Dad and our family during this time was exemplary, so gentle, thoughtful and caring.
I can highly recommend Warren Lodge, it is always kept very clean, my dad was extremely well looked after there, the wonderful chef cooks excellent, home-prepared and nourishing food.
Dad was treated by everyone as a member of this family, it has been an honour and a pleasure to be part of the extended Warren Lodge family.

Care, compassion, patience, kindness but most of all with dignity and respect, these are some of the words I would use to describe how all the staff care for the residents at Warren Lodge.
As a daughter of a resident who lives half way around the world from the home the level they go to in keeping
me connected to my mother, who is in the late stages of dementia, has been second to none.
I Facetime weekly sometimes successful on first attempt, sometimes it takes 3 tries as she often knocks the screen over, turns it off or sadly isn't in the right "mood" but they patiently reconnect us or we try another day.

Mum always looks clean, well dressed and well looked after whether it's over the line or on the couple of times I have been back to visit. When I have been back there is a real warmth to the Home and nothing ever seems too much. I couldn't ask for anything more so thank you all for all you do.

My husband has been at Warren Lodge since February 2021 and I can honestly say his care has been so much better than my expectations.
The staff are caring always kind and very patient, even when he has not been easy to manage.
My husband is always cleanly shaven, and washed, hair brushed with clean
clothes on daily. I visit on different days and the staff don’t always know when I am visiting, so this is not just for my benefit. The dignity the carers show is exceptional.
Another really important aspect of good care is that I have never turned up to find my husband sat in soiled clothes or wet.
In fact, I have never walked into the care home and smelled the unpleasant odour of residents who are sat in soiled clothing.
Finally, my husband is very much in the last stage of dementia and the care and patience taken in feeding him with liquid food is outstanding- if it takes an hour -it takes an hour there is no rushing they are courageous and wait until he is ready to drink.

Mum has been in Warren Lodge for over a year now. Although she managed in her own flat for many years, after the Covid pandemic it became apparent that she needed more support. Initially, it did take Mum a few weeks to settle in, but the manager and staff made her feel welcome and were very patient
and supportive. Having some familiar furniture, photos and paintings in her room helped. If I phone Warren Lodge the staff always know about Mum and can help with my questions. Mum enjoys the various activities and sometimes remembers them when chatting with me. Mum had a lovely birthday party in the garden with members of her family. The staff had decorated an area for her and the chef made a lovely cake. I was very touched that a member of staff came in on her day off to check that everything went well. I think that this shows that the staff do really care about their residents. The environment and grounds of Warren Lodge seem almost timeless and provide a sense of peace.

Warren Lodge is a fabulous care home. I looked at five local homes and this one stood out way in front of the others straight away. The friendliness of the manager and all the staff is particularly good. The setting is lovely. There are daily activities and special events for families to join in. Most
importantly I know that my father is being well looked after and is very happy there. I could not recommend it enough.

Warren Lodge Care Home is a lovely place. The staff are really friendly and welcoming always ready with the offer of a cup of tea or coffee. The home although not the most modern I have seen makes up for that with the cheerful atmosphere, the carers and residents are often seen having a dance and
a singalong. My brother came to the home for respite suffering from dementia and a fall and was cared for with compassion and dignity until he sadly passed away.

My Mother was a resident of Warren Lodge for only 5 months before her sudden and unexpected passing. We were faced with the difficult decision of placing her into care due to signs of the onset of dementia. I viewed many local care homes and Warren Lodge easily stood head and shoulders above the others.
'Mum' found it quite difficult to adapt to her new surroundings at first but, through the love, care and compassionate support shown by the Manager and his wonderful team, she quickly became settled and happy in the home with her new found friends. It was very reassuring to us that Mum was being looked after so well and it was clear that we had made a good decision in Warren Lodge. Throughout, we were always made to feel so genuinely welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. If you are facing a difficult decision to place a loved one in care then look no further than Warren Lodge. The Manager, his lovely staff and the home are outstanding. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.958)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.958) out of 10 for Warren Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.958 for Warren Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (566 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 591 Ratings = 4.958
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Warren Lodge is based on 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 50 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
