We moved our mother who has dementia into Warren Lodge for respite care whilst our father underwent major surgery for a 6 week period. We had visited some other homes but we had an immediate feeling that this was like home from home from the moment we stepped in. Sadly our father passed away and during
this very difficult time the Manager and staff have been incredibly supportive not only to our mother but to us as a family. Nothing has been too much trouble and the level of care for her has been excellent both physically and in particular emotionally; so much so that we are now hoping to make Warren Lodge her permanent home as she seems so settled.

Warren Lodge has looked after my father-in-law for 18 months until his death this month. It was a very difficult time during the Covid pandemic, but the care and attention he received were simply excellent. It is a very well managed home and all of the staff have been wonderful and have shown such care
and attention at all times, especially during his final weeks. The attention to detail has extended to supporting us through hard times and nothing has been too much trouble. It really does feel like an extended home. My mother-in-law has now moved in and is receiving the same excellent care. Thank you all very much!

My Dad was admitted to Warren Lodge when his wife was taken terminally ill. He had Alzheimer's.
From the very start, the manager and carers were very attentive to his needs. He didn't really understand that his wife was poorly and the team were very sensitive to the difficulty of the situation and
when his wife died, worked very closely with the rest of the family to help him through.
The team at Warren Lodge are very caring, sensitive, communicative and following the lead of an inspiring manager ensured that residents are treated as if Warren Lodge is their own home.
Dad sadly passed away at Warren Lodge but the care he received, particularly in those last few days was second to none. As a family, we also felt cared for and supported and we will be forever grateful for that.
If you are thinking of placing a loved one in the care of Warren Lodge then please accept this review as a recommendation

Warren Lodge is an attractive building setting with fine grounds in the countryside near Wokingham. The move here on account of our age is somewhat unsettling from our home of many years, not helped by Covid. However, the care and attention of all the staff have convinced us that this move is right
and we can live here happily for our remaining years.

My wife has been in care at Warren Lodge for four-plus years, at no time have I had any complaints to make. The management listens to you and keep you well informed. The staff at all levels, I can only say what a grand crowd they are. They make me feel like one of the family. Patience and service could
not be bettered anywhere. Thank you all.

My aunt has been a resident of Warren Lodge since October 2021.
She has mixed dementia and is no longer able to live independently.
The manager and staff are always very helpful and cheerful. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is always very clean and tidy. My aunt always looks very presentable
and is very happy. The staff keep me informed of any changes to my aunt. I cannot thank them enough.

After a long stay in the hospital, my auntie moved into Warren Lodge last year in the middle of the pandemic. After coming to the care home unfortunately my auntie contracted Covid. We couldn’t visit her due to restrictions but the staff of Warren lodge took excellent care of her and she recovered from
Covid. My auntie never had any plans to move into a care home but after coming to Warren Lodge she has decided to stay there. My auntie suffers from bipolar and because of this her behaviour can be very challenging sometimes but the staff and management have kept me fully informed on how she’s doing and have understood my auntie well. I have no hesitation to recommend Warren Lodge to anyone.

I am so happy with the care my mum is receiving at Warren Lodge. She did recently have an unwitnessed fall, which is, unfortunately, a risk with her worsening dementia. The team took excellent care of her, with the paramedic remarking that Mum was very well cleaned up when she arrived and that her care
plan was exemplary - she said that Warren Lodge is now her favourite care home, given the level of care she saw in action. That was so reassuring to me as Mum is a fairly new resident. The home then sent a member of staff with Mum to the hospital where she was cared for one-on-one during a very long and distressing day. I was so happy she was being looked after.
We have a great relationship with the staff, who are communicative, responsive, and friendly. I feel very happy that Mum is in their care.
I can't ask Mum if she is happy or well taken care of, but I can see that she is relaxed and in a good mood when I come in for a visit and that she and her room are clean. I'm very pleased.

This review is based on one-hour visits in July and November. On both occasions, we were greeted in a friendly and welcoming way by the manager. Other staff with whom we came into contact were helpful and friendly. Our relative said she was content with arrangements there. Her room appeared clean and
orderly. We are unable to access some of the ratings mentioned as we have no visibility.

October 2020 my father entered Warren Lodge. The decision to move from independent living into residential care could never be easy and the transition into adapting and settling into an unknown environment, now to be your home, takes time. However, with the incredible support from everyone at Warren
Lodge, the physical and mental health of my father has shown incredible improvement, since he moved there. He laughs more, smiles a lot and jokes as he used to. He's come back to us from wherever he was going! He has a renewed interest in life.

My husband was always well cared for and clean and suitably dressed.
Although caring can be very taxing and frustrating I did not ever see this in any of the staff.
He seemed content and comfortable in his years at Warren Lodge.

When my mother needed a home it was a no brainer for us, my Grandmother too had used the home and it's specializing in dementia.
Everyone at the home is very caring and supportive of my mother and give me no doubt she is in the best place. They always have time for us and her when visiting and they
care for her like she was one of their own.

My mother has been a resident at Warren Lodge for nearly two years. Pre COVID I was able to visit freely, so I got to know the staff and the running of the care home very well.
Throughout the difficult times, the staff have been fantastic in caring for our loved ones.
I now visit in the beautiful
garden, which has paths around it, where my mother and I enjoy walking together and then we can rest in her room and spend quality time with each other.
We are always supplied with the required PPE equipment and the staff are thorough at checking our test results.
Her dementia has naturally progressed but I am confident when I go home that she is happy and looked after, and that her individual needs are catered for.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Warren Lodge.

My husband has had a year in Warren Lodge and his condition was extremely challenging. He needed 24-hour watching due to never keeping still so was prone to falls. He had already been to hospital before he went into Warren Lodge with a hip fracture. I cannot praise the staff enough. He died a few days
ago and they made him so comfortable and treated him with so much kindness and respect, I cannot thank them enough.

My mother has been a resident at Warren Lodge for well over a year now. From the very beginning, she has been very happy there and is always telling me how well looked after she is. Having to place a loved one into a care home is never an easy or straightforward decision, and a lot of time and consideration
is needed when selecting the one that most meets their needs. My sister and I did a lot of research and took a lot of information into consideration before deciding what would suit mum best. Ultimately we decided on Warren Lodge and I have to say that at no point have we regretted the decision to put her in their care. Mum's needs and requirements are always well met or exceeded and we have had very good support throughout especially given the ongoing situation with COVID. At no point in the past year have I had to worry about whether mum was being looked after. All my calls are greeted with a happy voice telling me how happy and well looked after she is.

I would like to say that after living at Warren Lodge for a few months now, I am happy to say that I am making the decision to stay permanently. My reasons are that the staff are very nice and look after me very well. They are friendly, happy and they make me happy and smile every day. Before coming
to Warren Lodge, I lived at my own home for many years, and I don't think I ever wanted to leave my home. However, when the time came for me to need more help and support, I am glad I came to Warren Lodge. I have everything here now, and this is my home.

Warren Lodge is bright and airy and the gardens are lovely to look out upon and walk around at any time of the year but especially in the warmer months when they come into their own. Mum has been a resident since December 2017 and all the team know her well. Her advanced dementia means active communication
is very difficult, however, the carers understand her needs and always treat her with love, dignity and a great deal of patience. This has always been a great comfort to her family but particularly in the past year, when we have been unable to see her as often as we would hope. As a visitor, I have always found staff and residents alike to be friendly and welcoming and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Warren Lodge to anybody seeking care provision.

I had to make the very difficult decision to move my beloved Godmother from her long-time home in Essex in 2016 as her dementia had worsened and she needed full-time care. How lucky we were to find Warren Lodge. Not only was it very local, meaning I could visit often, but it gave her a new lease of
life where she enjoyed the socialising, the company of other residents, trips out, activities and entertainment. She settled in very quickly and had made a new best friend within a few weeks. She loved having her hair done, her nails painted and generally being pampered. She regained her appetite and enjoyed the excellent meals prepared by the catering team and I was welcome to join her for meals. I cannot praise the Manager and his team highly enough for their wonderful care of my Godmother throughout the five years when Warren Lodge was her home. She was always treated with love, kindness, dignity, and respect. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.975)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.975) out of 10 for Warren Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.975 for Warren Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (579 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 594 Ratings = 4.975
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Warren Lodge is based on 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 50 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
