I found the Care Manager extremely helpful, friendly and they spent a lot of time with us prior to my aunt and uncle moving into the home. Nothing was too much trouble and our minds were put at ease immediately. We were shown around safely and the house and grounds are beautiful. Over the last 2 months,
we have found the staff and manager so friendly, welcoming and they keep us fully informed about everything. We have seen great improvements with both my aunt and uncle and the transition from moving them was easier and less stressful than we ever imagined due to the helpfulness of the manager and all the staff. Thank you for making us feel so connected with our family, even during the pandemic. I also like the social media aspect and can see what different activities the residents are doing each week. Thank you.

After spending an hour talking to the care manager in a pre-admission chat...I knew that Warren Lodge was the place for us. His professionalism and obvious dedication made our minds up before we were shown round a lovely room where my sister-in-law and husband would call home. In just a matter of weeks,
the improvement shown by them both were beyond expectation. The staff are so friendly, and nothing is too much trouble..always going the extra mile. Highly recommended.

Myself and the rest of the family of my mother feel very fortunate to have been able to secure a placement at Warren House for her. The love and care I saw shown towards her was all I could have wished for during the last months of her life. Particularly as it was the time of the pandemic and we are
very grateful to the team for the way she was looked after during these difficult times. I would have no hesitation in recommending Warren Lodge care home to anyone in a similar situation.

Warren Lodge is the most welcoming home. The staff and management have been so helpful during these trying times of Covid19, looking after my wife and keeping her smiling, looking very well and entertained. Visiting in the lovely garden during the summer Warren Lodge supplying PPE. This has been a wonderful
decision for me and my family to move here since the last home closed down last year nothing is to much trouble for the staff, so relaxing. The manager has always had time to discuss any matters with you. Thanks very much to all the staff.

What a wonderful experience my visit was to see two of our members and friends from The Daffodil Club (for those living with dementia and their carers). With the Covid restrictions being extremely tight for care homes I hadn't expected my visit to be so relaxed and enjoyable, wearing a mask and keeping
the social distancing creates a barrier but for those living with dementia the barrier is extreme. However, the manager greeted me warmly and took me to my friends who were in a lovely bright garden area chatting with a carer. We were served refreshments and then spent a lovely time reminiscing. During my two visits, I saw residents planting autumn bedding with carers as well as other indoor activities going on through the windows. On my second visit to celebrate my friend's birthday I was amazed to see balloons around the gazebo where we were to sit and staff and residents joined us to sing happy birthday! Thank you to the manager and carers for giving us such a wonderful time.

It is my pleasure to review my wife’s in-house experience in Warren Lodge, Wokingham.
The Management Team under the Centre Manager are excellent and his staff benefit greatly from a continuous improvement daily programme which is also of great benefit to the residents.
The Care Team at Warren Lodge
go to great lengths to make their patients feel genuinely loved and this is often reciprocated, certainly in my wife’s case. She loves the food and she being a performer enjoys the freedom given by the nurses to express herself in song. Security is of a high standard without imposing too many restrictions.
I give Warren Lodge five stars.

The initial decision for Mum to move to care home, as her dementia was progressing rapidly, was incredibly hard. When we were advised that her care home was closing within only 9 months of her moving there, we went through another traumatic time, as a family. We finally found Warren Lodge, having visited
many care homes in the area. We felt that it was the only one that seemed more like a home, friendly and warm, clean but not too clinical, with a lovely garden. On the move day the staff immediately welcomed Mum, making a big fuss of her, whilst also ensuring Dad and I were looked after. She settled incredibly quickly and seemed very comfortable with the staff. The team are very kind and supportive and try to involve Mum in the activities, she prefers to watch but enjoys the liveliness. When we visit, Mum is nearly always smiling and happy, which is very reassuring. It has been great to be able to visit Mum in the garden during the COVID situation.

My husband and I were neighbours of a resident who has recently died at Warren Lodge. We became friends and met her every day after her husband died and with other neighbours ensured she was safe and well. When she was unable to cope we chose Warren Lodge for it's country house feel and welcome. Our
friend was a resident for 6 years and was extremely happy. Staff were kind, caring and professional. At first, she read and read and said she had never been happier "It's like a hotel. I have all my washing done, my food prepared, and have time to read"
Everything about the care at Warren Lodge was excellent. Staff laughed with her, celebrated birthdays and Christmases and made her very happy.
Our friend's room overlooked a field and she watched rabbits, deer, buzzards and foxes. It was perfect for her as she had lived all her life in a cottage in the country.
We felt secure in the knowledge that the staff had her best interests at heart. They were wonderful during her last months.

Our friend was a resident of Warren Lodge for six years and the staff were always extremely friendly and kind. Whenever we visited staff were often popping in to deliver water or tea etc. Our friend was very happy living in the home and enjoyed chatting with the staff who cared for her very well.
She was keen to stay in her room and they respected her wishes although we all often encouraged her to join in with all the lovely activities on offer! The staff took time to be with her and help her which was much appreciated. We thank everyone for looking after our friend so well.

This year has been especially challenging recognising that my mum needed to move into a fully supported setting in the midst of COVID lockdown. Thankfully my dad had previously viewed the setting so when the time came to make the difficult decision to ask for a place, the team at Warren Lodge made the
transition as easy as possible for both my mum and dad who was left at home. From the moment the team came out to see us at my parents' home, they exuded a warmth and that has continued throughout my mum's stay from the whole team. Everyone is always very welcoming and the regular visits have either taken place on the lovely large patio in the extensive gardens or inside when the weather has been less kind making use of one of the bedrooms with a conservatory attached to maintain social distancing. All the necessary procedures are in place in this regard and if you forget, they have PPE readily available for visitors. We cannot ask for more and would not hesitate in recommending.

I was very impressed with everything about Warren Lodge. The outstanding level of care that they gave to my mum, was so reassuring, and the staff so kind, welcoming and professional.
Mum was very happy there, and she was able to keep her dignity and comfort until the very end. If I could choose any
care home in the world, it would be Warren lodge.

Mother has been in residence at Warren Lodge for over 3 years. She has gone through many ups and downs whilst there.
I feel that she is well looked after by the staff and management. She doesn't like the food but I think it is because of her age { 89 } and her Parkinson's disease as whenever I have
sat with her during luncheon I can see that the food is well balanced, small enough for her to manage and looks very tasty. I think that the food is freshly made and served on time.
I am content with Mother's care at Warren Lodge.
The staff are always welcoming and happy to see me and will listen if I have any queries.
Overall I feel that all is well with her residing there and she is living in a clean and happy environment.

For over four years my mother had lived with us after the loss of my father. Sadly after a number of falls, Mum's mobility had become severely restricted and she had also been given a diagnosis of dementia. I was unable to care for her safely at home. The decision was made with Mum and the rest of our
family to find a care home for her.
She was admitted to Warren Lodge Care Home in February.
Mum settled well but had trouble sleeping and was very unsettled at night. The staff were great and spoke to me regularly about this and followed routines that we had at home. I can not thank the staff enough for their care and dedication in looking after my mum. She constantly tells me how happy she is and how lovely the staff are to her.
Throughout the current lockdown, I have been kept informed on how she is doing and am able to FaceTime regularly.
A safe system has been put in place so we can now visit her.
I cannot recommend Warren Lodge more highly.

From the moment my father moved into Warren Lodge, we as a family felt that he was in safe hands. Nothing was too much for the staff and carers, and they always made us feel welcome when we visited. His room was lovely and comfortable and although my father suffered from dementia we are sure he felt
happy and secure in his new surroundings.
Sadly my father passed away in May this year and although we were unable to visit him due to the restrictions in place, we can say without hesitation, that he was extremely well cared for, the staff could not have been kinder and his main carer insisted on staying with him through the night. We cannot thank all the staff enough and I am sure if he was here today he would want to do the same.

I would like to give a huge thank you to all the staff of Warren Lodge for the wonderful care they gave my dad who sadly passed away in May. The dedication and care shown by all was exemplary. My family and I are so very grateful that my dad was able to live out his days in such a caring and understanding
environment. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to see my Dad in his last days but the team were brilliant and we were kept informed at all times. My family and I will always be thankful to you all.

As restrictions are being lifted it was wonderful to see my mother and the other residents at Warren Lodge, yes I had to put on full PPE and carry out stringent rules but it was comforting to know how serious they take halting the spread of the virus.
During my visits the residents have been outside
enjoying the fine weather, again plenty of shade and drinks to keep them safe, I was again pleased to see how happy they were, chatting and happy which must have been difficult with the isolation of not having visitors, but I know the staff and management have looked after them very well given the circumstances.
My mother has been there nearly 5 years and I can honestly say she has been very happy and content, this has also made our life easier as when we go away on holiday I know my mother is well looked after, and if there are any issues I am quickly notified via a telephone call.

My mum has been a resident at Warren Lodge for around 2 years now. I moved her there from another care home where I had not been happy with the poor standard of care she received. I have no such worries at Warren Lodge. My mum is very well cared for by the kind and dedicated staff, who always have
a smile and who get to know you by name. During the recent Coronavirus pandemic, the home put 110% effort into making sure the home and its residents stayed safe. If you want expensive wallpaper, cinemas and deep pile carpets, it is not for you, but if you want a homely, friendly, welcoming place that is well-run, I highly recommend Warren Lodge.

My mother has been a resident since January 2018 and pre-coronavirus I visited her 2 or 3 times a week, so I have strong first-hand knowledge of the home and the staff. Since March 2020, my 'visits' have been made via FaceTime; something that the home has organised very well.
Warren Lodge is a very
caring and safe environment, with an excellent ambience. The manager and his staff do a wonderful job of caring for the residents; they are also very welcoming to visitors. The home is always clean and well presented. The bedrooms, with en suite facilities, are a good size and the large, bright, lounges and conservatories provide ample space for the wide range of activities that are scheduled on most days. The food is good quality and plentiful, with drinks, biscuits and other snacks provided on a regular basis. Extensive gardens provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to go outside in good weather.
Warren Lodge is now Mum's home and the staff are like an extended family.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.958)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.958) out of 10 for Warren Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.958 for Warren Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (566 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 591 Ratings = 4.958
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Warren Lodge is based on 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 50 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
