I would like to give a huge thank you to all the staff of Warren Lodge for the wonderful care they gave my dad who sadly passed away in May. The dedication and care shown by all was exemplary. My family and I are so very grateful that my dad was able to live out his days in such a caring and understanding
environment. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to see my Dad in his last days but the team were brilliant and we were kept informed at all times. My family and I will always be thankful to you all.

As restrictions are being lifted it was wonderful to see my mother and the other residents at Warren Lodge, yes I had to put on full PPE and carry out stringent rules but it was comforting to know how serious they take halting the spread of the virus.
During my visits the residents have been outside
enjoying the fine weather, again plenty of shade and drinks to keep them safe, I was again pleased to see how happy they were, chatting and happy which must have been difficult with the isolation of not having visitors, but I know the staff and management have looked after them very well given the circumstances.
My mother has been there nearly 5 years and I can honestly say she has been very happy and content, this has also made our life easier as when we go away on holiday I know my mother is well looked after, and if there are any issues I am quickly notified via a telephone call.

My mum has been a resident at Warren Lodge for around 2 years now. I moved her there from another care home where I had not been happy with the poor standard of care she received. I have no such worries at Warren Lodge. My mum is very well cared for by the kind and dedicated staff, who always have
a smile and who get to know you by name. During the recent Coronavirus pandemic, the home put 110% effort into making sure the home and its residents stayed safe. If you want expensive wallpaper, cinemas and deep pile carpets, it is not for you, but if you want a homely, friendly, welcoming place that is well-run, I highly recommend Warren Lodge.

My mother has been a resident since January 2018 and pre-coronavirus I visited her 2 or 3 times a week, so I have strong first-hand knowledge of the home and the staff. Since March 2020, my 'visits' have been made via FaceTime; something that the home has organised very well.
Warren Lodge is a very
caring and safe environment, with an excellent ambience. The manager and his staff do a wonderful job of caring for the residents; they are also very welcoming to visitors. The home is always clean and well presented. The bedrooms, with en suite facilities, are a good size and the large, bright, lounges and conservatories provide ample space for the wide range of activities that are scheduled on most days. The food is good quality and plentiful, with drinks, biscuits and other snacks provided on a regular basis. Extensive gardens provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to go outside in good weather.
Warren Lodge is now Mum's home and the staff are like an extended family.

My mother who suffered from small vascular dementia died just over a week ago after several years of the debilitating disease. The care she was given, especially in the last year has been exceptionally good. The staff and her key worker understood her personality, character and dealt well with understanding
her needs. My mother was very close to them and enjoyed their company. I live in North Devon and it was not always possible to visit Mum as much as I would have liked to but during the last few weeks of her life, I was kept up to date with everything that was going on with her decline. The manager phoned me several times to relay her condition and gave me every faith that they were doing the best to keep Mum comfortable and calm. I am very grateful to them and the care they gave her. The home has a welcoming atmosphere and is clean, calm and efficient. I think everyone did the best they could to make my mum’s life the best it could be. Thank you!

When my brothers and I realised that the time had come to move Mum into a care home due to her dementia, we reviewed over 25 different providers. We gathered information on fees, CQC rating, location (convenience for family), number of rooms (not too many not too few), dementia care registration and
speciality, ability to manage end of life care and read reviews on Carehome.co.uk. Some were like five-star hotels but who wants to live in a hotel, Mum needed a home. As the family, we felt totally supported by the Warren Lodge team, nothing was too much for them and they were patient and very helpful. This was the place for Mum. When we arrived, they came out to meet Mum and welcome her, she lit up and every time we see her she looks so happy. The care team are amazing and we are so relieved that Mum is now in their care, we made the right choice. If you are going through this difficult decision, we would highly recommend Warren Lodge and their excellent team.

A very well decorated property. As a regular visitor, a friend of a resident, I am always made most welcome by the staff, whatever their position in the hierarchy of the home. Any concerns I have had on the odd occasion have been dealt with quickly and effectively by the manager etc.

Since my wife has been in the care of Warren Lodge I have been more than pleased with everything and everybody who is looking after my wife, and to me what is best is that my wife is pleased and happy with everybody who looks after her. One member of staff said "we want you to feel that this is your
home and we want you to be happy". Well, I can honestly say that I am both pleased and happy.

The staff are very caring and attentive to my mother and know her needs extremely well. The home has implemented many new improvements. I would like to see a self-service coffee/tea area for relatives set up. I would also like it if residents were able to be taken out occasionally. Overall very happy.

The new manager has settled in well and all is running smoothly. I visit the home quite frequently and have not found any problems. Difficult persons are dealt with quickly and helped. Not easy when you consider the obvious problems. Lots of freedom for people to wonder about which is very good. I could
have seen worse places. I think it's very good.

My dad entered Warren Lodge in October 19 and from the very first visit I was extremely confident that the management and staff were going to help, support and care for my dad in the way that I would hope for. This has continued in the 2 months he's been there. I would highly recommend Warren Lodge
for any family needing to make an extremely difficult decision easier.

I can only refer to non-medical care of our dear lady friend, who has been a resident for a few years. Even during the recent difficult times whenever I visit (every 2 weeks) I am warmly welcomed by the staff from the moment I arrive. The home is well decorated and always, I see light and airy. It is
always clean and smells refreshing. I stay usually from about 10am till mid-afternoon and am always offered midmorning refreshments and lunch, which is always of a high standard. The staff are invariably kind and attentive, whether they be cleaners, carers or management. The very occasional maintenance task is always carried out promptly. Our friend is grateful for the way staff, if they have time, are happy to chat and solve the problems of the world! The rear garden is well maintained with lawn and flowers and is used and appreciated by our friend. Overall a warm atmosphere.

My mother has been a resident at Warren Lodge for the past 4.5 years. She suffers from Alzheimer’s but has been very well cared for, both physically and mentally. The staff treat her with respect and dignity at all times no matter how difficult the situation. Her room is always clean and tidy and her
meals are prepared according to her needs. She is allowed as much time as she needs to eat her meals, drink her tea etc.
My aunt also was a resident at Warren Lodge for 2 years. Most of this time she was bed bound and needed turning regularly. Although unable to go downstairs to the lounge the staff ensured she was still included as much as possible. A good example is when a small donkey visited one Christmas and was taken up in the lift to my aunt's room. Such a kind gesture.
My mother in law also spent a weeks respite care at the home.
We have nothing but praise for all the staff at Warren Lodge and would recommend it to anyone looking for care for an elderly relative.

After a sudden illness mum moved into Warren Lodge just 12 months ago, mum sadly passed away there last month.
Mum's health proved to be a bit of a challenge the first few months but with the new manager onboard we felt things changed for the better.
We would like to thank the manager and the staff
at Warren Lodge for being kind, caring and compassionate, especially at the time we needed it most. Mums last few months were made comfortable and she was looked after well. Nothing was a problem, our requests and wishes were met, management and staff listened and mum's needs were looked after well.
Warren Lodge is a bright, clean environment, good selection of food, nothing is a problem if something special is requested. Mum loved getting her hair done and the hairdresser was there right to the end, even coming to mum's room to brush her hair when she became bedridden.
Quality of life is important right up to the end, mum received that at Warren Lodge. Thank you.

My mother entered Warren Lodge in October 2012. As she has become increasingly dependent due to dementia and osteoporosis, as well as her advancing years, (she is 94) the staff have not failed to give her the care she needs at each stage. She is treated with respect, even at her most awkward, and the
staff will visit her room for a chat frequently when she is confined to bed, although every effort is being made to get her up to join in the entertainment each day.
The rooms are individual with pleasant decor, the food is excellent and varied, but the best recommendation for Warren Lodge is its caring staff overseen by the extremely capable but with humour the manager.

My mother entered Warren Lodge in June 2016. She has settled in very well, which is something I did not expect because she was reluctant to go into a home. She has dementia and needed somewhere safe and secure to live and where she would still feel fairly independent. Having a nice room of her own has
given her this. She enjoys the company she now has as well. She can choose when and if she wants to join in the daily activities. She looks more relaxed and her sense of humour has returned. I am able to approach a member of staff if there is anything that I am concerned about.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.975)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.975) out of 10 for Warren Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.975 for Warren Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (579 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 594 Ratings = 4.975
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Warren Lodge is based on 50 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 50 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
