Overall Experience
My mother has been a resident at Warren Lodge for the past 4.5 years. She suffers from Alzheimer’s but has been very well cared for, both physically and mentally. The staff treat her with respect and dignity at all times no matter how difficult the situation. Her room is always clean and tidy and her meals are prepared according to her needs. She is allowed as much time as she needs to eat her meals, drink her tea etc.
My aunt also was a resident at Warren Lodge for 2 years. Most of this time she was bed bound and needed turning regularly. Although unable to go downstairs to the lounge the staff ensured she was still included as much as possible. A good example is when a small donkey visited one Christmas and was taken up in the lift to my aunt's room. Such a kind gesture.
My mother in law also spent a weeks respite care at the home.

We have nothing but praise for all the staff at Warren Lodge and would recommend it to anyone looking for care for an elderly relative.

After a sudden illness mum moved into Warren Lodge just 12 months ago, mum sadly passed away there last month.
Mum's health proved to be a bit of a challenge the first few months but with the new manager onboard we felt things changed for the better.
We would like to thank the manager and the staff at Warren Lodge for being kind, caring and compassionate, especially at the time we needed it most. Mums last few months were made comfortable and she was looked after well. Nothing was a problem, our requests and wishes were met, management and staff listened and mum's needs were looked after well.
Warren Lodge is a bright, clean environment, good selection of food, nothing is a problem if something special is requested. Mum loved getting her hair done and the hairdresser was there right to the end, even coming to mum's room to brush her hair when she became bedridden.

Quality of life is important right up to the end, mum received that at Warren Lodge. Thank you.

My mother and late aunt have been residents for several years. They could not have had more love and care anywhere else. All the staff are wonderful and treat them with dignity and compassion. We couldn't have coped with my mother's dementia without their support to our family.

My mother entered Warren Lodge in October 2012. As she has become increasingly dependent due to dementia and osteoporosis, as well as her advancing years, (she is 94) the staff have not failed to give her the care she needs at each stage. She is treated with respect, even at her most awkward, and the staff will visit her room for a chat frequently when she is confined to bed, although every effort is being made to get her up to join in the entertainment each day.

The rooms are individual with pleasant decor, the food is excellent and varied, but the best recommendation for Warren Lodge is its caring staff overseen by the extremely capable but with humour the manager.

My mother entered Warren Lodge in June 2016. She has settled in very well, which is something I did not expect because she was reluctant to go into a home. She has dementia and needed somewhere safe and secure to live and where she would still feel fairly independent. Having a nice room of her own has given her this. She enjoys the company she now has as well. She can choose when and if she wants to join in the daily activities. She looks more relaxed and her sense of humour has returned. I am able to approach a member of staff if there is anything that I am concerned about.

After visiting various care homes for Mum, we felt Warren Lodge to be the best place for her. The staff were so helpful in securing a place very quickly for us as the situation of looking after her at home had become untenable. The Courtyard is a safe and secure environment for her as she suffers from Alzheimer's. It's lovely to see all the staff interact with the resents regardless of their positions there. I am so grateful to Warren Lodge for the care and support not only Mum receives but also myself when needed. The residents are all treated with the care and dignity they deserve. Without Warren Lodge, I don't know where I'd be. So, thank you, Warren Lodge.

My father had recently undergone a bereavement and found himself in a care home in the North East. They advised me of 4 weeks notice of closure over Christmas and Warren Lodge bent over backwards to help me find a new home for my dad without putting me under any pressure to choose them. I was impressed with the light, airy and comfortable feel of the home, combined with the beautiful setting, as well as with the Manager's ethos that all staff are asked to engage all the time with residents. Dad became a resident in January and enjoys good meals and friendly care. I am very grateful to Warren Lodge and am sure that my dad is well cared for.

My husband suffers from dementia and until last year was living at home. He stayed at Warren Lodge for periods of respite care to give me a break and each time he went was quite reluctant to come home as he was enjoying himself so much. When the time came for him to need full-time care there was no doubt in my mind to where he should live.

Warren Lodge is a happy well led home that provides my husband with the care he needs. I am happy in the knowledge of knowing he is safe and treated with dignity. When I ask him if he is happy he tells me 'I love it here'
