Icknield Court is a vibrant and friendly care home located within the town of Princes Risborough. Providing residential and dementia care, the home offers a comfortable environment with a strong sense of community.

The kind and experienced care team take the time to build relationships with residents and get to know each individual’s preferences, so that high quality person centred care can be delivered to all.

The home is split across six ‘houses’, all with communal spaces which are ideal for meeting up with friends and family. There are two lovely enclosed courtyard gardens, both designed to be dementia friendly, interactive and stimulating that everyone can enjoy at their leisure.

Activities are arranged by the enthusiastic co-ordinator to ensure a range of hobbies and interests are catered for including painting and reminiscence activities.

The staff at the care home are simply amazing, My Nan has been with them for nearly 2 years now. They are extremley helpful and have so much passion and care towards all the residents in the home.
They do an amazing job and I cannot thank them enough for what they do with my Nan.
We have been there
while they have entertainment on and the residents love it.
Very clean, nice meal choices for my Nan.

The majority of the carers are very caring, obviously, the odd one occasionally causes a bit of concern. Mum has a bit of a concern when other residents come into her room, she's had experiences in the past when things have gone missing from her room.

My mother, who has dementia, was on day one of a respite visit and was found wandering miles away from the home, several hours after we left her.


The home didn’t even know she was missing until we informed them. She had managed to pack up all her belongings and leave with a suitcase, without being

noticed.


The administration was also chaotic and we were left waiting for ages to complete paperwork and mum wasn’t kept busy (as was promised) but just left on her own, hence being able to escape.


We have removed her and sadly I would not recommend this home to anyone.

Found the care home well maintained and clean. Staff were wonderful and very efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. Our uncle was receiving end of life care which was his choice. All the care staff, nursing staff NHS district nurses were wonderful.

My mum moved in at the beginning of August. She has never wanted to go into any kind of home, but within two weeks has changed her mind and was saying she would prefer to stay at Icknield Court. From my point of view, I feel mum and her dog are definitely in the best place. All the staff in House 2
have been really kind and welcoming. Mum is not an easy lady to care for but they are very patient and help her in every way they can. I am kept very informed as to how she is mentally and physically. Keep up your excellent work, you are doing a fantastic job. I wouldn't change anything. I can have a laugh with mum again which I love.

I have been extremely satisfied with the high level of care she has received. I have also been impressed by the effective channels of communication which has meant we have been kept well informed of her situation, staff have been courteous and friendly and my mother-in-law has nothing but praise for

My father-in-law became a resident of Icknield Court 6 weeks ago after deciding that he no longer wanted to live independently. We thought that it would be a difficult transition for him but due to the diligence of the care home, this has not been the case. He loves it!
The staff are marvellous and
he loves the interaction and genuine care shown by them. I could not wish for more for my much-loved father-in-law.

My sister is very content and happy to be in the home. All the staff know her by name and are very friendly. I think it is a wonderful idea to have the home divided into separate houses so there are not too many people in one place at any time.


I think the hairdresser is wonderful. They all come

out looking beautiful and happy!
Finally, the gardens are kept well and my sister loves walking in them.

Mother is contented and happy in this home. She feels cared for and secure. The staff are friendly, attentive and caring under the direction of their excellent, proactive manager who welcomes visitors with sincerity. He is always watching out for the needs of the residents and treats them like family.

My partner moved into Icknield Court on March 13th. She is 69 and suffers with dementia. She is very active and needs lots of stimulation which the staff provide. She is very happy there, which is a great relief for me as I was stressed out before. They have regular open days and events and two
friends and I went to the BBQ on 22nd July and although it was raining, the staff were so cheerful and helpful and we enjoyed the food, drink and music.

Emma Fielder

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I began my career in Health and Social Care back in 2002 in my hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was there that I discovered my passion for supporting others. In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and in 2015, I completed a master’s degree in management.


Over the years, I’ve worked in Nursing and Dementia care environments, and I genuinely love what I do. Caring for others is such a privilege—being a part of someone’s life is incredibly special and something I value deeply.


What inspired me to work in the care sector


For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, “I want to be a nurse!” My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for overseeing high-quality care have always been a source of motivation for me.


My passions outside of work


When I’m not at work, I love spending time outdoors, especially on long walks in the countryside or visiting new places with my family. I also enjoy tending to my garden, which is filled with a variety of flowers and even includes a large grapevine—I take great pride in it!


What makes me proud of Icknield Court


I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Icknield Court team. We have a “home from home” approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents.


Even though we’re a large team, we’ve managed to build a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. Our well-being programme is full and varied, involving our residents in meaningful activities and staying connected to the local community.


It’s the little things—watching the team make a real difference, seeing residents smile, and having fun together—that make me so proud to lead here at Icknield Court.
