We have been fortunate to find a warm, caring and stimulating environment for our aunt. It gives us peace of mind knowing she is in a safe and secure home with her personal, medical and dietary support needs being met by a team of experienced and professional carers 24/7.
We accept that there were issues with regards to the challenging behaviour of one of our residents within a designated Dementia area of our Home. "We are pleased to say that all the incidents identified and their causes have now been resolved following involvement of the appropriate social and healthcare professionals working in conjunction with our own teams. All our residents continue to enjoy a caring and safe environment at Icknield Court, while extra provision has been made to those who needed further specialist care". - Antonios Loumousiotis - Home manager Icknield Court.

I began my career in Health and Social Care back in 2002 in my hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was there that I discovered my passion for supporting others. In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and in 2015, I completed a master’s degree in management.
Over the years, I’ve worked in Nursing and Dementia care environments, and I genuinely love what I do. Caring for others is such a privilege—being a part of someone’s life is incredibly special and something I value deeply.
What inspired me to work in the care sector
For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, “I want to be a nurse!” My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for overseeing high-quality care have always been a source of motivation for me.
My passions outside of work
When I’m not at work, I love spending time outdoors, especially on long walks in the countryside or visiting new places with my family. I also enjoy tending to my garden, which is filled with a variety of flowers and even includes a large grapevine—I take great pride in it!
What makes me proud of Icknield Court
I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Icknield Court team. We have a “home from home” approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents.
Even though we’re a large team, we’ve managed to build a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. Our well-being programme is full and varied, involving our residents in meaningful activities and staying connected to the local community.
It’s the little things—watching the team make a real difference, seeing residents smile, and having fun together—that make me so proud to lead here at Icknield Court.
