Icknield Court is a vibrant and friendly care home located within the town of Princes Risborough. Providing residential and dementia care, the home offers a comfortable environment with a strong sense of community.

The kind and experienced care team take the time to build relationships with residents and get to know each individual’s preferences, so that high quality person centred care can be delivered to all.

The home is split across six ‘houses’, all with communal spaces which are ideal for meeting up with friends and family. There are two lovely enclosed courtyard gardens, both designed to be dementia friendly, interactive and stimulating that everyone can enjoy at their leisure.

Activities are arranged by the enthusiastic co-ordinator to ensure a range of hobbies and interests are catered for including painting and reminiscence activities.

I attended a strawberry and pimm's day at Icknield Court with my family. We were all very impressed with how the management and staff put time and effort into a fantastic day of entertainment for their residents and families. It was wonderful to see the residents happy enjoying themselves and joining
in, many who were capable were encouraged to get up and dance to the music, those who were unable joined in with the singing. I feel very happy that my father in law is at this home.

Since my Dad moved to Icknield Court 3 months ago it is a relief to me and Mum to see how calm and smiling he still is. It is a very comfortable place to visit as all the staff are so friendly and they are happy to see us whatever time of day we turn up. The Manager is also very pleasant and has got
to recognise us already. The entertainment team work hard and it is good to see the smile they bring to Dad's face.

My dad has been a resident at Ickneild Court since November 2015, he is very happy there.
He suffers dementia and is 91 years old, he has been out on 2 trips on a steam train with staff and really enjoyed it.
The home provides good quality food, is clean, the staff are very friendly and hard working.

Find Icknield Court to be very clean, excellent individual patients/person friendly, attentive care staff. The dining area is light and airy and so far as I know the food is very good, served hot and nice variety. I believe that in the mornings there may be "group" activities but I am not sure if this
is so. Altogether I am pleased my wife resides here though I eternally wish she could still be at home.

Everything seems clean, friendly, warm, good environment, activities, caring. My elderly friend, although still a bit confused as to why she's there is content, healthy and active. Her room was decorated to her taste and she has some of her own furniture, which helps her a lot.

As soon as we visited the home we knew it would be great for Dad.
The staff were very interested in finding out all about him and the layout was welcoming.
The rooms were a very good size and well furnished.
But above all, the care Dad received was over and above what we expected.
They bonded with
Dad and cared about him which was fantastic for the family.
The most amazing thing was their care for him in his final days, we could not have wished for anything better. They were very involved and this made Dad's passing so much easier.
We will always be grateful to you for making his passing peaceful.

Our aunt has lived at Icknield Court for several years. Both management and staff have been very proactive and supportive of her changing needs as her health has deteriorated. The high standards, in all aspects of her care, ensure we are informed of any situation that may be of concern, involving us
as needed.


We have been fortunate to find a warm, caring and stimulating environment for our aunt. It gives us peace of mind knowing she is in a safe and secure home with her personal, medical and dietary support needs being met by a team of experienced and professional carers 24/7.

Both my grandparents live in Icknield Court. The staff are very caring and look after my grandparents well. The manager is very approachable and I feel confident to ask him any questions with regards to my grandparents care. The atmosphere is "homely" and my family enjoy attending the events organised
by the home, which I feel makes the care home an extra special family experience.

I spend about two hours each week at Icknield supporting residents with activities.
We regularly play scrabble, dominoes and cards.
I assist with creative activities, which are often themed according to what is happening, e.g. Queen's 90th birthday, Christmas, Easter, gardening.
I am extremely impressed
with the variety of activities the residents are able to engage in. They find this very stimulating and it encourages them to chat.

I visit my wife three times a week so I see quite well how things are for her and see too that she is happy. The staff are good with her and also kind to me when I visit, including usually staying for lunch. My only gripe is that enough care wasn't taken to see that she wore her glasses all day, and
in fact have lost her glasses which I have now replaced. The new greek manager seems to have shaped things if that were necessary and is most attentive. Thank you for all your help.

We really appreciate the way the carers looked after my mum over the last five years but especially the last year as she deteriorated. Particularly I would like to commend one of the carers she was always cheerful and very caring.

My mother had lived in Icknield Court for five and a half years and in that time she was treated with great respect and care from all the staff. The home is kept well and is very welcoming to visitors. I visited mum often and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful to me as well. We really did
appreciate everything. My only negative thing to say is about the laundry.

Generally "mum" has been cared for exceptionally throughout her five years or so at Icknield Court. All services and needs were met and rendered graciously during her slide into dementia and ultimately her death recently. People still recognised that she was the gracious lady we have always known her
to be and we so appreciated that too.
Her "Nurses, Carers" on the whole have all been exceptional.

Generally very good but open communication between staff and management is lacking. A current resident is violent and has caused serious injuries to two residents as well as striking my mother in the face twice leaving a bruise. In my opinion, this man is not receiving the care he needs and other residents
and visitors are not being safeguarded under the Fremantle Trust Policy. Staff are also at risk daily. Management did not tell my mother's keyworker or other staff about the incidents.

My mother became a resident at Icknield Court three years ago in that time she has had exemplary care. I cannot speak more highly fo the staff who have ensured that these yers have been happy and comfortable. She particularly likes the variety of activities and enjoyed the range of services provided.
Needing to be encouraged to the hairdresser but always liking the result.
Thes staff are not only caring and professional but are genuinely kind of the residents in their care.

Emma Fielder

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I began my career in Health and Social Care back in 2002 in my hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was there that I discovered my passion for supporting others. In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and in 2015, I completed a master’s degree in management.


Over the years, I’ve worked in Nursing and Dementia care environments, and I genuinely love what I do. Caring for others is such a privilege—being a part of someone’s life is incredibly special and something I value deeply.


What inspired me to work in the care sector


For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, “I want to be a nurse!” My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for overseeing high-quality care have always been a source of motivation for me.


My passions outside of work


When I’m not at work, I love spending time outdoors, especially on long walks in the countryside or visiting new places with my family. I also enjoy tending to my garden, which is filled with a variety of flowers and even includes a large grapevine—I take great pride in it!


What makes me proud of Icknield Court


I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Icknield Court team. We have a “home from home” approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents.


Even though we’re a large team, we’ve managed to build a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. Our well-being programme is full and varied, involving our residents in meaningful activities and staying connected to the local community.


It’s the little things—watching the team make a real difference, seeing residents smile, and having fun together—that make me so proud to lead here at Icknield Court.
