There has been a recent change in management, however, the standard of care has remained the same. There appears to be a consistent staff team, both permanent and agency which is good. My mother is not an easy resident when it comes to personal care. I would be pleased to see a more proactive approach
to regular staff dealing with this. I feel this needs to come from management supporting staff to tackle this. Overall I am so, so happy this is where my mother is living. Thank you.

Mum has been with you since February 2023. She calls Sir Aubrey Ward home. She is very happy, loves the staff, food and is very happy with her room. She's made friends and enjoys the activities. It is a pleasure to visit her and know she is settled, safe and happy.

The rooms for residents are large and airy, with enough room for occupants to bring their own chairs, rugs, pictures and personal odds and ends to make them feel at home.
The first thing I noticed on my first (and subsequent) visit was the total lack of urine and cooking smells. The air is clean and
pleasant. The home is well-maintained and decorated (painted surfaces, general cleaning, etc). There is a happy atmosphere, and the Friday morning "choir" is well attended by residents and visitors. The staff are friendly and always willing to help or chat with residents.

We have been so impressed with the staff and how welcoming they are and make a lovely, lively environment for the residents. Lots of entertainment and activities are available if my mother wants to join in. The care is lovely, and Mum feels well cared for and comfortable with the staff.

The dining room needs urgent attention.
Food very poor, cold and too much on plates. All need to be of a better standard. A fully trained chef is needed - (do kitchen staff taste the food - I don't think so - marks out of ten (3).
Also, more interaction is required with residents.
This has been
mentioned to all staff, but nothing has changed in months.

Really quite outstanding experiences in recent weeks since my mother's move to Sir Aubrey Ward. Staff are clearly focused on good resident-centred care. They show confidence and are friendly, caring and respectful. I've seen staff in difficult circumstances dealing with challenging situations with patience,
good humour and care. There is lots of evidence of commitment to good supervision and training, clear communication and openness to feedback and learning from experience. The environment is bright and clean and is well maintained inside and out. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and appreciated.
I'm so pleased to have found such a great place for Mum to live.

We visited on 20th August 2022 for a BBQ. The manager was giving a talk, which was very informative. The staff couldn't do enough for everyone - all very professional, helpful and caring. Best experience ever.

The manager gave an excellent speech regarding the situation at Sir Aubrey Ward when he took over less than a year ago. He outlines what is needed to be done and what had been done. We were served with excellent food and drink and were well looked after. I heartly recommend this care facility.

It's easy to put into words what makes Sir Aubrey Ward special, and that is the people; from the managers to the carers to the unsung heroes such as the activities team, kitchen staff and admin - all lovely. The carers treat my grandmother with care and respect. The manager is a very visible manager,
always available to speak and is an excellent communicator with both residents and families.

From the minute I walked in, I felt very accommodated. The staff were very smiley and friendly. We had several drinks brought to us during the visit. It's really lovely to see the residents so happy!

Made to feel very welcome upon arrival, and the staff were extremely accommodating. I was offered drinks very frequently, which was very generous, and felt that the staff expressed a great deal of care for my grandmother from what I saw during my visit.

We felt extremely welcome when we arrived. We all sat in the beautiful garden and were very well looked after. Drinks were brought to us, and sun hats were very well received! My mother is very happy here and thinks a lot of the care she is given. Overall, very impressed with the care home. Mum loves

Staff generally appear friendly and caring towards residents and visitors.
Manager is visible and approachable.
Disappointing to see the general inability of staff to pick up litter around the garden area (discarded Jubilee flags, masks, tissues) and to clear crockery.
Reception staff are reluctant
to take phone messages for residents.
