I accompanied my mother on annual outing to a wildlife park. A well planned and stimulating day for the residents and carers.
A very enjoyable experience for all.
Thank you.

Aubrey Ward carers have looked after my Aunt for 8 years since she started early dementia, she has always received the best care with her meals and encouraged to participate in activities. The past 2 years my Aunt has needed more help and this has been carried out with dignity. She has had 3 visits
to the hospital when we thought she would not pull through but she rallied and continued to care for her. We are very grateful to them for continued care and respect.

From the first week, my mother seemed happy to be at Sir Aubrey Ward House. She found the staff kind and all her needs were met. My mother was allowed to make her room by bringing in the furniture she wanted from her house.
She likes her food so to find she is eating well is a bonus.
It is quite
common if there is a member of staff my mother does not get on with, it is swiftly dealt with and she has a change of carer.

My mum is happy and well looked after. The care she received is given cheerfully and takes into account my mum's "little ways".
There are trips out and in-house activities which my mum takes part in and enjoys.
My dad is here too. It is harder to make him happy but he says he feels safe and cared
for.
Thank you very much to all the staff and managers.

All staff all very helpful and very attentive to their clients at all times. Entertainment coordinator does a great job in getting the clients to participate in many of the activities during the week but could do more if she had more equipment to help her.

I was so grateful, after his stroke, for my father to be looked after with care and love in Sir Aubrey House.
Now we return monthly to take a church service. We are always made welcome and so good to see the same friendly staff who were there in 2012 when he first moved in.

As a visitor, I have always found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The activities are excellent as is the activity co-ordinator who is extremely dedicated to the clients.
Activities do need better equipment to help clients to be more involved in the singing.
The home has always been clean
when I have visited.

Sir Aubrey Ward house has a welcoming atmosphere and a light airy atmosphere. My Father in Law seems well cared for and he is mostly cheerful. Any medical problems have been dealt with promptly. The staff have a calm and friendly approach and we appreciate their care.

Overall was very happy with the care, cleanliness and group activities, good level of care, and staff were most kind and compassionate. The gardens were lovely and well kept which was a pleasure to my father. We liked that we could pop in at any time of the day or evening,

My father was looked after by this care home over the last two and a half years. During this time my sisters and I were pleased with the level of care provided. The management team were very approachable and always available to talk to. The office staff were always polite and informed us if my father
was unwell. The entertainment when my father was well enough to take part was excellent. His room was always kept clean and he certainly never complained about the food. The carers on the ward were kind and helpful some went over and above with the level of care which was appreciated greatly. I would recommend this home.

My 86 year old mother has been a resident since December 2016.
It has taken her some time to settle and come to terms with her new 'home'.
There are staff shortages, both cleaners and carers. I think being in an affluent town means carers working on low hourly rates are hard to find.
Reply from Stuart Robb, Business Development Executive at Sir Aubrey Ward House“We continually recruit to fill any vacant posts. The home has the recommended staffing ratio and when necessary vacant shifts are covered by regular agency workers.” Karen Kelly, home manager - Sir Aubrey Ward House

Since my mother has been at Sir Aubrey Ward, she has blossomed. No longer alone or frightened, she takes part in activities, has made friends and enjoys playing the piano for the other residents. The staff have been exceptional in looking after her needs but more than this they have given her back her
confidence and her sense of fun. The manager has always been very kind and supportive and her influence over her staff shows in the well organised happy relaxed atmosphere in Sir Aubrey Ward.

From the moment you enter Sir Aubrey Ward House, you are greeted with the friendliest of welcomes. There is an air of tranquillity and every thing is spotlessly clean. The garden, rooms and overall condition of the property is excellent. I could not think of a better home for my aunt.

My mother has been at Sir Aubrey Ward House at Marlow for over a year. A very caring ethos pervades the place with a lovely atmosphere existing between staff and residents. A goodly selection of laid on activities and a genuinely friendly attitude from all the staff mean we have great confidence in
Mum's level of care. Many congratulations to the manager and all her team and our sincere thanks for a difficult job well done. All Care Homes should be like this - and having experienced others close by, we know Sir Aubrey Ward House stands out as a role model to emulate.

I am very pleased with every aspect of my mothers care.
When faced with the task of finding a care home for my mother, I made ten visits to potentially suitable sites.
Sir Aubrey Ward and another Fremantle home at Farnham Common were leaders after my initial research. Four years later, I find it very
difficult to criticise the level of care. The staff at all levels are very accessible and through their efforts create a good atmosphere throughout the home. This is complemented by the high standards of décor and cleanliness. I continue to recommend Sir Aubrey Ward.

My mother moved to Sir Aubrey Ward in December 2016 after three months in hospital having broken both hips.

She was a reluctant resident, but the care and empathy shown by the staff on Elm over the last months has helped her to adjust and settle. In particular, her key workers have shown great

care, compassion and humour and we all now feel that Mum is in the best place possible, receiving great kindness and support.

My mother was a resident of Sir Aubrey Ward House from February 2014 until May 2017, when she died there, peacefully and in her own bed with two of the carers she loved best at her side. All my family are extremely grateful to the staff and wonderful carers there who looked after my mother's every need
throughout the past three years and kept her fit and alert both mentally and physically for as long as they could. She settled in well and was happy there, surrounded by exceptionally kind and thoughtful staff, who arranged daily activities and outings which she greatly enjoyed when she was fit enough to take part. It is worth mentioning that most of the staff were there when she arrived and still there when she passed away, which is a great tribute to the management. We highly recommend Sir Aubrey Ward House.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.692)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.692) out of 10 for Sir Aubrey Ward House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.692 for Sir Aubrey Ward House is calculated as follows: ( (289 Excellents x 5) + (67 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 377 Ratings = 4.692
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sir Aubrey Ward House is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
