So how does that square with the CQC report? I think as an adapted building it has more challenges, but the corridors are great for wandering, keeping my mother super fit! We have experienced some deficits in administrative and logistical aspects, but we recognise the hard work to improve in every area.

My father has been a resident of Belmont Lodge for 18 months now and has advanced Alzheimer’s. When he first arrived he was very confused, upset and angry, unable to recognise or make sense of most things. The staff have gone above and beyond their roles in making him part of the Belmont family, the patience and love they have given to him is outstanding. The care they give offers our family great comfort and they are always commenting on how much respect and interest they have in Dad's history. The staff always remember that every resident has a past and a youth, children, grandchildren and stories of amazing achievements, they work patiently to try and unlock these memories and get a glimmer of the old person again. The communication has been faultless, especially as my brother does not live in this country. We are kept informed of weight, mood, eating progress and anything that they think we would like to hear. Belmont Lodge, on behalf of my brother and I, we thank you.

I have visited Belmont Lodge many times prior to March this year (closed for covid) unfortunately, with a mask etc, it was not easy for your residents to recognise me which I found difficult! He was well cared for and smiley for some of my visit but "distancing" was not easy but made bearable by the carers and staff, who are excellent. He appears to be well and capable.

First visit to see mum in 3 months due to Corona. Staff were very professional and concise in their instruction to put on PPE. Very organised visit. Mum looks well and healthy. A good visit.

I am very pleased with the care home and the positive changes they have made. My mother has been looked after well and I am happy with the carers who go above and beyond to keep her happy.

The team at Belmont Lodge have done a fantastic job in the most challenging environment possible. I’ve been really impressed at how they have looked after my uncle, the other residents and their staff. The atmosphere in the home is really positive, the big smiles on the faces of the staff is testament to that. It’s also a result of the hard work and importance Forest Healthcare place on making people happy. They’ve created a very family orientated culture in the home.

As I'm only visiting for a couple of weeks, I'm trying to spend as much time with my grandmother, and as my third visit here so far, from what I have experienced; the staff are very kind, not only to my grandmother but also the other residents of the home. Everyone from my experience is loving, affectionate and sweet!

My grandmother has been at Belmont Lodge for 22 years. This is her home. She enjoys living here. We are always made welcome when we visit.

My husband is very happy here. The food is very acceptable to him. Never misses food times.

My brother is content living here. He loves the food and the staff.

The home has a very homely feel. My Mum is well looked after with love and kindness.

Excellent care for my mother who now has severe dementia. All the staff have been very caring and have supported me during some difficult decision making. My mother has been here 6 years and due to their loving care has always been happy there. Thank you to all staff, including excellent cleaners and cooks.

I enjoy visiting Belmont where my brother is happy and well looked after. I feel welcome.

When I visit my friend, the staff are always welcoming and helpful. The facilities in general and my friend's room are always clean and tidy. Staff are helpful when enquiring about various issues.

The staff at Belmont Lodge Care Centre are so friendly and welcoming. When we visit Mum it's like visiting a large family. Mum is well looked after and cared for. She is well fed and she loves her food. There is often entertainment to which we are invited too. All in all, we are very happy with Belmont Lodge Care Centre.

I have lived in this home for 22years and I can recommend this home to anyone. I'm very happy, the staff that work here are very kind and good. My room is lovely.

To the activities coordinator, I am writing this to you with thanks for your efforts to entertain the people who are staying at Belmont Lodge, Chigwell whilst they slowly recover from different illnesses. Your efforts to give residents so much comfort and enjoyment by all your kindness and patience to help us get better and pass the morning time, making the residents feel good. My friend has been at Belmont Lodge since October 2014. She is always well looked after. Belmont is a home from home for all the residents. We are always made to feel very welcome.
