I am extremely happy with the experience my mum had in Elizabeth House. The staff was very kind and understanding, and also very patient with Mum as she was very confused when she first moved in. When Mum became poorly the staff could not have acted faster to get her the help she needed. Overall I think

Would recommend this care home. The carer is always polite and helpful when getting Mum ready for us to take out. Mum has dementia and requires help getting dressed etc. The lady on reception is excellent. The lady in admin has been very helpful to us as a family. Thank you.

My husband has lived in Elizabeth House for the past year, as he has Dementia and I could no longer care for him at home. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are kept clean and residents are well cared for.

Mum moved into Elizabeth House in February 2022. Her mobility and dementia declined over time, and she sadly passed away on 2nd December 2023. You hear a lot about care homes, and generally, you only hear negative news as not a lot of people shout about the positive things.
The facilities are always
clean, Mum was looked after well and other than some minor gripes occasionally, the emotional and physical care that she received was amazing.
What was absolutely exceptional was the team in ‘downstairs Poppy’, who, towards the end of Mum's time, were absolutely amazing. We could not fault the care and attention that they gave to Mum and also the support they gave to us as a family.
We will never forget her last few days and how wonderfully peaceful they were made for her. The loss was clearly evident on her carer's faces too; they made time at the end of every shift to come in and see how she was and also wanted some time with her when she passed to say their goodbyes.

Dad is now 101 and resident 16 months. Elizabeth House is warm, welcoming, caring, fresh and clean. Lots of activities and a cheerful, friendly staff, always ready to listen. food good and a wide choice. Highly recommended.

An outstanding place for my aunt to be in. All the staff treat all residents like their own family. There is nothing I can say wrong about this place. From the moment I enter the building to the time I leave, I see only helpful staff making sure residents are relaxed rested and well looked after. The
social media page also helps wonders, as we get to see a more in-depth side to the care and laughs given. I could go on and on.

My mother moved to Elizabeth House in May 2023. She has dementia and zero mobility. Since moving to Elizabeth House, her eating and drinking have improved. She is also happy and seems well cared for. Elizabeth House is always clean and tidy, and all staff are welcoming and caring. Other than meal times,
there are no restrictions on visiting. This is a massive benefit, as I am able to visit in the evening after work. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth House.

My mother, despite being at end of life, was treated with utmost care and attention.
Staff are very professional and kind.

Mum has been with Elizabeth House for a year now, her anniversary was this week. She did take a while to settle but we feel as a family more than happy with the care and consideration she is shown. Mum says the staff are lovely. The Home regularly run day trips or gets entertainers in for the benefit
of the residents. One of the highlights for us was the photo on social media of a miniature pony in Mum's room (which she loved!). If we have had any concerns with Mum's well-being we have been listened to and solutions are found to make Mum as comfortable as possible. One criticism if any is the laundry system - we do Mum's laundry rather than listen to the problems of things going missing or wrong clothes returned. We are comfortable with our decision to choose Elizabeth House and actually recommend this Home. Thank you to all the staff for the care you give Mum.

I would just like to say that after my previous review stating that Mum's room was very basic, her lovely carer has been on the cars to get her a better room! No sooner said than done Mum has been moved into a lovely bright room and just to see a smile on her face is priceless. They really do care and
want their residents to be happy. A special thank you to the bluebell team!

The staff at the home are welcoming, friendly, and very caring.
They are helpful when specific needs are raised.
Some basic care, e.g. changing our resident's clothes regularly, cutting fingernails, and ensuring teeth are cleaned, could be improved.

My sister has been in Elizabeth House for the last four years and settled into her situation very well. I am very pleased with the way she is treated and cared for. There has never been any issue presented itself that has caused any problem for my sister or myself. The staff that I have encountered
in any position are very pleasant, helpful, competent and professional. The home is modern, bright, warm, comfortable and very well-maintained. Therefore, I can easily recommend the Elizabeth House care home for anyone looking for good treatment and peace of mind for themselves or a family member.

The staff team are working very hard to do their best for the residents. I was also impressed on a previous visit this week to see staff training taking place in the cafe area. Staff have been very good in their communication whenever anything needs to be reported about our mum, and they do as much
as possible to understand her needs and requirements. They have been excellent.

The staff are very friendly and very helpful. They really do care for the residents. My mum is very happy in the home and all staff are very friendly and helpful to her as well as caring. She has some special friends in there.

Welcome to Elizabeth House, where you can find out all you need to know about our wonderful home. My name is Ade, and I am the Home Manager. We are a 108-bedroom, spacious, and newly furbished home located on Benfleet Road. The home consists of two units; Poppy and Bluebell. Each unit is set over two floors and is equipped with its own lounge and dining rooms.


We have so much to offer here at Elizabeth House, including an on-site hairdressing salon, a shop, the Garden Café, a bar, a library and a sports room. Some of our regular activities throughout the home include bingo, quizzes, karaoke, arts and crafts and more. Our chef creates very nutritious and appetising meals for residents.


We invite you to pop in and have a look around the home and ask any and all questions you have. We are always happy to help in any way we can. We are so proud of our home and look forward to sharing it with you.

I'm Karen Burrows; I'm the Lifestyle Coordinator. I have worked at Elizabeth House for 10 years. I organise and plan our activities in the home and trips out with our residents. I am a fun, entertaining lady; I'm always willing to take the lead, dress up, and join in to make the residents happy. I'm always cheerful and jolly and get the carers and other team members involved. I enjoy looking around the shops in her spare time for raffle prizes to raise money for our residents and the home. I also use my free time to search social media for any new ideas, new activities, or events we can hold for something different. I say that it makes me happy to go home of an evening knowing the residents have had fun and are happy and smiling.

Hi, I’m Tracey Lennette, and I’ve been the Head Cook at Elizabeth House for 2 years. I take great pride in creating nutritious, well-balanced meals that cater to the individual dietary needs and preferences of our residents.


I lead a team of kitchen staff, ensuring that food is prepared and served to the highest standards of hygiene, taste, and presentation. I work closely with my team, carers, and residents to accommodate any special dietary or allergy requirements. It’s important to me that every meal not only nourishes our residents but also brings them enjoyment and comfort.
