My mother was sent to Elizabeth House Care Home in April 2021 from hospital. She could no longer look after herself and to my family's relief, she was somewhere being looked after and monitored. She was there for exactly one year until she passed away recently and I can only thank the staff there for
everything they did for her, it is a difficult job with little reward and all done on a tight budget. So I thank them all from reception to the top for her care.

Very pleased with my sister's new life at the home. When I leave her she doesn't cry, which makes me happy, as this says she is very happy and she laughs a lot. Overall all round very good place to have your sister in.

My mum went into Elizabeth House for two weeks respite after suffering a nasty fall in her own home. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the hard-working, professional and caring staff who relentlessly did everything they possibly could to give my mum the care she needed and

The staff at Elizabeth House are helpful, friendly and supportive. The area I have seen (cos of Covid) are spotlessly clean. My father, I can see is well cared for. The staff were amazing when my father had Covid. I have not commented on food and drink and activities because I not no personal experience.
My father complains about the food not being very good - especially the fish and chips, soggy, overcooked veg. For the cost, I would like to think he's exaggerating, but as we have no knowledge of the quality of food as a visitor, this is difficult. I hope veg isn't overcooked as it's crucial to health. I can't comment on activities as Covid makes this difficult. I am only aware of quizzes taking place. My father stated that they are children's quizzes to cater to residents with dementia. I would like to know if this is true or not - my fathers not a reliable source of information! My father says they're too easy. I think it would be a good idea - post covid- if residents could invite a family/friend for lunch so we can see for ourselves what the food is like.

My mother moved into Elizabeth House in February 2020, just before lockdown. In her eighties with dementia and having just lost dad, her husband of 60 years. It was a huge decision to move her out of her home to full-time care. The staff are amazing, caring and mum is happy, which is all we can ask
for. Mum's room is bright, clean and homely and she is settled and content. Thank you so much!

During covid lockdowns, over the past year, this care home and its staff have gone above and beyond at all times. They have our thanks. My mother had dementia and it's hard for her without family contact. She tells me (staff) they sit and chat, and hold her hand. She is never left alone or wanting for
anything ever. She is very happy here, and they look after you, don't make you do anything.

I wish I could give this home a good review as it looks lovely from the outside but unfortunately, my mother just couldn't settle in as the night care was not sufficient for her needs. She fell twice while trying to get to the toilet, which led to her being taken to hospital with a fractured spine.
The food was not up to her standards and she complained many times that what she ordered was not what she received.

My friend has been at Elizabeth House for some time and lockdown has made it difficult for us all. He is very happy and the staff have made extra efforts with us during this time allowing us to visit at the window and in a sealed area at the conservatory so that has made a big difference. Elizabeth House has proved to be a godsend to our family. After our mum went into the home, my dad also has to go there two years later and we had every confidence they were being properly cared for. My dad sadly passed away in March 2020 and the staff have been amazing. Unfortunately, my mum is now
the end of life and every effort goes into giving her dignity at a traumatic time for our family. A big thank you for all the staff. Thank you.

Sadly my mother was in hospital in June 2020, my sister and I were caring for her before this. We made the decision that it would be best to look for a care home with a strong dementia caring attitude. I feel that we have made the right decision, even though we haven't been able to view Mum's room or
even look round the care home because of the Covid situation. We are able to make window visits, and the staff are always available to answer any concerns that we may have. We just hope we will be able to visit Mum very, very soon, because I know that with her dementia she might forget who we are. She had her 90th birthday last week and during our window visit her wonderful carer helped her open all her cards and presents. This lady was just so great, and Elizabeth House made Mum's birthday a special day, we even saw wonderful pictures on Facebook.

Unfortunately, care for my Mother in Law received was poor. We had moved her down from an excellent care home in Nottingham to be nearer family. We had thought advertised high rating CQC plus nice colour brochure indicated a good placement. We were unable to view Elizabeth House due to Covid restrictions.
We
had brought my Mother in Law down in a car with no problem and she could mobilise quite well with a walking aid. However, mobility deterioration in the next few months and she was extremely unhappy with general care and food offered. She had two falls and sustained back fracture and ended up in the hospital and died there this last Saturday on her birthday. We had arranged for her to return to the care home in Nottingham but sadly it was not to be.

Welcome to Elizabeth House, where you can find out all you need to know about our wonderful home. My name is Ade, and I am the Home Manager. We are a 108-bedroom, spacious, and newly furbished home located on Benfleet Road. The home consists of two units; Poppy and Bluebell. Each unit is set over two floors and is equipped with its own lounge and dining rooms.


We have so much to offer here at Elizabeth House, including an on-site hairdressing salon, a shop, the Garden Café, a bar, a library and a sports room. Some of our regular activities throughout the home include bingo, quizzes, karaoke, arts and crafts and more. Our chef creates very nutritious and appetising meals for residents.


We invite you to pop in and have a look around the home and ask any and all questions you have. We are always happy to help in any way we can. We are so proud of our home and look forward to sharing it with you.

I'm Karen Burrows; I'm the Lifestyle Coordinator. I have worked at Elizabeth House for 10 years. I organise and plan our activities in the home and trips out with our residents. I am a fun, entertaining lady; I'm always willing to take the lead, dress up, and join in to make the residents happy. I'm always cheerful and jolly and get the carers and other team members involved. I enjoy looking around the shops in her spare time for raffle prizes to raise money for our residents and the home. I also use my free time to search social media for any new ideas, new activities, or events we can hold for something different. I say that it makes me happy to go home of an evening knowing the residents have had fun and are happy and smiling.
