My mum has only been going a short while for one day a week, but all the staff there are really lovely people who genuinely seem to care about the service users. They have always been friendly, helpful and welcoming so I have no issue with leaving my mum there for the day as I know she will be looked after.
Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review for Goldenley. We are so happy you feel confident to leave Mum in our care. I will share your review with our team.

I have visited many times and always find my friend clean and relaxed.
Thankyou for taking the time to leave us a review. We are happy you are impressed with the level of care your friend receives and I will share this with the team.
My mum sadly only spent a short time here before she passed away. She was initially very resistant to staying as she has been in other day centres. However, the team were incredibly patient, considerate, and accommodating. They took the time to understand her worries. Over time, she was happy to stay, mum began to feel comfortable and was socialising with the other ladies. My last conversation with her before she passed away was her describing her positive interactions with people at the day centre. It made a very difficult time a little lighter for our family, and we will always be grateful.
Thankyou for taking time to review Goldenley. I am so glad to hear that your dear Mums experience here was positive. I will ensure this is shared with the team .
The team provided a safe and supportive place for me to leave mum for 5 hours where I knew she would be treated with dignity and respect. Mum always enjoyed her meals at the day care and always came out happy and smiling.
Mum has since passed away but I would absolutely recommend the Day Care Centre at Goldenley.
Thankyou for taking time to review Goldenley and for your kind words. I will ensure I share this with the team .
When the dementia team first suggested that mum attended Goldenley once a week, we felt very anxious as a family. We really needn't have worried. The staff are so kind and welcoming, and mum enjoyed the club so much that we've now increased her attendance to two days a week.
Thankyou so much for the lovely review . We are so pleased to hear Mum is enjoying it. I will ensure this is shared with the team.

Goldenley is staffed and managed by such amazing people. The care, love and kindness they show my dad is incredible. It was so hard for my mum reaching the decision that he needed to go into a care home. From the first visit we felt the warmth and kindness within Goldenley! Nothing is too much trouble! We feel part of a community and so supported in every way. Endless activities provide fantastic stimulation for dad - especially anything music related which he loves. He has settled in so well. It gives us peace knowing he is safe, warm, well fed and cared for by angels!

Thankyou for the lovely review for Goldenley. We are so happy at how well Mum has settled in her short time with us.
My Mum has been a resident at Goldenley for nearly 4 years. Personally I think it is such a kind, caring and thoughtful home. All the staff are lovely, totally admire their dedication and empathy they show not just my Mum, but all the residents, in such a difficult environment. With me living abroad it is a comfort to know she is safe and in extremely good hands. Thank you.

My mother in law needed urgent residential care after suffering from a stroke had increased her dementia suddenly. Staff were very helpful, understanding and compassionate and within a week we could get some sort of normality back in our lives and the knowledge that she was being fully cared for. Any concerns I have initiated re health have been brought to the GPs attention who visits the care home regularly. Food is absolutely outstanding. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are numerous lounges and residents are encouraged to sit in the main lounges and join in with the activities on a daily basis, be it singers visiting, craft activities, farm visitors and celebrating special occasions, a cake is always supplied by the chefs on a birthday. It feels like home and after having lots of doubts over whether she needed to be in care we are now happy she is being cared for so well, much better than we could have managed. No hesitation recommending this care home.
Thankyou for leaving this lovely review. We are so happy that your experience has been a positive one and that Mum has settled well and has become part of our Excelcare family.

I cannot fault Goldenley'. My mother has been a resident for over 7 years and the care she has received has kept her well and stimulated. The staff are amazing, the activities truly engaging and creative, especially the musical ones. They make it feel like one big family. The home and her room are always clean and tidy and there are always staff available for the residents and families.

Our Mum is a full-time resident at Goldenley Care Home and has been living there for just over three years. The Goldenley staff are friendly, professional and caring and they keep us involved of her care and medical needs. And we find that the staff make us feel very welcome when we go to visit her each week. She is cared for and looked after well, and we appreciate all the staff members who have her wellbeing at heart. Thank you all so much.

The cooks produce a varied menu using fresh food and served in the dining room at tables, or individually if the client needs assistance.
We are very lucky to have this facility close to home, which relieves a lot of our worries about Mum.
Thankyou for leaving this positive review for Goldenley. We are delighted that you have been having a positive experience and we feel lucky to have your Mum as part of our Goldenley family
My partner became a resident of Goldenley Care Home in October 2024. I was her full-time carer at home for 5 years after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in January 2020, following an early-stage dementia assessment in 2019.
She had been attending the Daycare centre at Goldenley, so it became an easier transition for her to become a full-time resident, which was arranged by her son, whilst I was recovering in the hospital.
I believe Goldenley is an excellent Care Home, and the staff do a very difficult job with professionalism, dedication and empathy, working hard to ensure that my partner receives the best quality care. I greatly admire their work ethic and dedication. Any minor issues are dealt with promptly, and they advise and inform about any health issues, such as weight loss or having a fall.Although it breaks my heart not being with my partner, I know she is in safe and in good hands with Goldenley.
Thankyou for leaving the lovely review for Goldenley. I am so happy that you feel your loved one is safe and well cared for and this will delight the team at Goldenley knowing that you put your trust in them.
