Excelcare Goldenley

My mother in law has been resident at Goldenley since May 2023. Care is exceptional with a real family feel. There is a low turnover of staff which allows for excellent continuity of care. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and so kind to the residents.

A comprehensive programme of activities and entertainment caters to all tastes, adding to the community feel of the home.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Goldenly care home in Benfleet isn't like every other care home. The moment you walk in you realise it's special. The home is very stylishly decorated and feels so homely. The staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble, everyone smiles . My father is five weeks in to his stay and he has got happier and happier every day. The rooms are very well decorated , the residents are encouraged to make their rooms homely. The staff have worked so hard getting to know him , they know what he likes and what he doesn't. This is so good because having to move somewhere different and settling in is harder the older you get. My father has a production line of tea delivered to him throughout the day and he loves the food. Goldenley has a dedicated team led by the activities coordinator to entertain and stimulate the residents. The home has singers , dancers, bands on a regular basis and a service on a Sunday. Since my father has been here they have celebrated St Patrick's day, St George's day, Easter, and VE Day

My mum enjoyed every minute of her respite at Goldenley care home. They looked after her very well, and she enjoyed all of the different activities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Mum has been a family member within Goldenley now for 19 months, right from the start the team members have met Mum's needs in all aspects. Mum has a whole other family within the home who care for her and we, as her immediate family, are kept involved and informed in Mum's care, activities and medical needs.

My mum has been living at Goldenley for a number of years and in that time she has been loved and cared for by all the staff. The staff always do the very best for residents, often under difficult circumstances. It has a very homely feel with entertainment and good food. Also, which is of importance, the manager and assistant manager will always listen and help with any concerns or questions.

Mum is happy at Goldenley. She is looked after by staff who show they care. She is safe and warm and enjoys the food that is cooked there. Mum has been a resident at Goldenley for a few years now, and she still enjoys joining in with the activities.

My dad stayed for four weeks respite. He had attended the day centre and enjoyed going. While at the day centre the carers would send me videos of my dad having fun and he would hug them as he left. It was the obvious choice for him to stay there. I needn't have worried about how he would feel being away from home - he thought it was a hotel and didn't want to leave! He enjoyed the food and the activities and liked the residents and the carers. It was reassuring every time I visited to see him so relaxed and happy. He always looked well cared for and his room and communal areas were all clean. Very happy with the service and would happily recommend.

The main thing is, my mother is happy there so, I am happy.

Goldenley has been very caring to my husband whose medical condition has completely changed him from the man he was. Unfortunately, I am unable to visit him as often as I would like as I am now in a wheelchair and have to wait until my son has a day off to take me to see him but Goldenley keeps me informed of any problems that arise. The staff are all wonderful and caring and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the care and compassion.

I have found Goldenley Care Home to be very proactive and caring. They are always in contact, following protocol and ensuring they are keeping residents safe. Being able to take your own furniture in, a home away from home I feel has made a big difference for my own well-being. When I see my family member I feel comforted and settled with their own belongings. This is additionally reflected in my family member's behaviour.

Although my wife was in the home for a short time before she passed away, the care and compassion she received was first class. Myself and the family were made to feel more than welcome and this caring attitude was reflected in all parts of the home. They do a very difficult job extremely well.

People are well looked after and very caring.

A lovely warming care home, the staff are welcoming and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend it if you are thinking of homing a loved one. In a lovely quiet road down Richmond avenue nearby to a lovely park too which is a bonus.

They go above and beyond what is expected of them. They also treat relatives with kindness at all times.

Staff have been working very hard in very difficult times to keep the residents both safe and motivated. It has made the last two years less stressful for both of my parents, who have enjoyed the activities and interaction with the staff. We would not have been able to provide the same level of care if they had still been at home and would have put them at further greater risk. You only need to look at the pictures of them to see that they are enjoying themselves.

My mother is a resident at Goldenley Care Home. It broke our family’s heart to put our mum into a home, but unfortunately, Mum was no longer safe to live on her own. After much searching, we decided Mum to live at Goldenley. My mum has excellent care, from all the staff at the home. They also include the family with open arms and involved us with any decision that needs to be made for Mum. We couldn’t see Mum at Xmas because of COVID, but all the photos and videos were put on their Facebook, and Mum had a wonderful time. Goldenley has given us, as a family, peace of mind that our wonderful Mum has the best care any family could wish for. Thank you to all the staff and management.

Goldenley have provided amazing care for my Nan. Before my Nan went into Goldenley she lived on her own and it was a constant struggle to get the right care. Since living at Goldenley my Nan has started to eat better, her mobility has improved and we don't have the worry of her having fallen or being lonely. The communication from the staff at Goldenley couldn't be better. We receive regular phone calls and updates are posted on their Facebook page where we can see photos as well as videos on the exceptionally activities they provide. My Nan has come on leaps and bounds at Goldenley and we are forever grateful. The last year hasn't been easy on anyone and not seeing my Nan has been devastating, but Goldenley has given us the luxury of facetime and even opened a pod where you can see your loved ones through the window and speak through intercom whilst being sheltered and keeping everyone safe. I couldn't recommend Goldenley enough, my family and I are truly very very grateful.
