My mum has been living at St Marks for over a year now, and she's truly settled in. She's always been a real character-strong-willed and independent-so the transition into residential care wasn't easy for her. Understandably, she was very reluctant at first.

My mum has been living at St Marks for over a year now, and she's truly settled in. She's always been a real character-strong-willed and independent-so the transition into residential care wasn't easy for her. Understandably, she was very reluctant at first.
From the beginning, the entire team at St Marks-from management to frontline staff-have shown incredible patience, empathy, and unwavering support. They helped her come to terms with this major life change, always encouraging her independence, even during the more challenging moments.
Living with dementia brings many complexities, but the staff have walked alongside us every step of the way. Mum is always included, gently encouraged when hesitant, and treated with such dignity and respect. It's clear that she is genuinely at the heart of the care they provide.
Their communication has been excellent, keeping us informed through regular calls and meetings.

My Dad has been living at St Marks for 6 months. I have visited him regularly and have always found all the staff to be friendly and approachable. We are always offered refreshments and made to feel welcome. My young son even sat and ate a roast dinner recently with his grandad when we visited near lunchtime which was so nice to see.
Dad's physical and mental health has improved dramatically since being at St Marks, he especially loves beating everyone at a quiz!

They are always engaged with the residents providing them with good care and attention, good food and personal care.
Yesterday the staff had organised a wonderful summer afternoon barbecue. The weather was lovely, there were games and an excellent guitarist who played some jolly popular music.
Everyone appeared to be having a very good time, residents and staff alike.

I visited the friend of my nan in the care home the staff were so friendly and the residents were in good spirits. We were offered tea and biscuits and staff were approachable nothing was too much trouble for them they took their time to be with the resident.
