Meet the Team (13)

I began my career in care in 2008 as a care assistant. From then on I knew this was the career for me - I just love working with the elderly. My Health and Social Care in Leadership and Management qualification has supported me with my career progression and I am so pleased to be using my experience at Old Shenfield Place.
I love to listen to people, and I feel this is the way you make a real difference. I strive to provide high-quality care and ensure all of our residents receive personalised care in a warm and welcoming environment.
There is such a lovely care team at Old Shenfield, with many of the team having worked here for many many years. I look forward to my future here and to meeting residents and their families. Pop in for a cup of tea to meet me soon!

Beatrice began her career working as a personal assistant in Malawi before moving to England. She started at Old Shenfield Place as a care assistant, progressing to a senior position, and eventually becoming deputy manager.
She has dedicated 26 years of her entire care career to Old Shenfield Place. Beatrice has one daughter, who recently gave birth to her first grandchild, a beautiful baby girl named Azalea Rose.
Old Shenfield Place is like a second home to Beatrice, but when she’s not working, she enjoys shopping.

Originally from Lancashire, Alison moved to London to work as an advertising photographic model with a London agency before starting a family. While raising her two daughters, she also cared for her mother and worked as a teaching assistant—roles that nurtured her compassion and dedication to helping others.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Alison transitioned into the care sector, taking on the role of Lifestyle Lead Coordinator for two years. She later moved into administration, where her warm personality and organisational skills truly shine.
Alison loves that no two days in care are the same. She finds real joy in meeting residents, getting to know them personally, and hearing the incredible stories they have to share.

Michael has been working at Old Shenfield Place for 38 years, first as a freelancer and then as Building Manager.
What Michael does not know about the building isn’t worth knowing! Michael has been married for 42 years, has two children and 6 grandchildren. He has a great sense of humour and is good at talking to the residents, who often like to watch him while he works.
In December 2025, Michael was commended in the Unsung Hero category at the Essex Care Sector Awards 2025. We are incredibly proud of this achievement.

A proud local, Mark has spent the past five years at Old Shenfield Place, where his commitment to excellence has earned a flawless 5-star food hygiene rating every single year, a testament to his professionalism and attention to detail.
Outside the kitchen, Mark has enjoyed a happy marriage of 33 years and is a devoted father to twin daughters who are now grown. When he’s not crafting delicious meals, you’ll find Mark cycling enthusiastically around town or cheering passionately for his favourite football team.

Julie has been working in care homes as a Lifestyle Coordinator for the past five years. Five months ago, she stepped into the role of Lead Lifestyle Coordinator at Old Shenfield Place.
Julie is passionate about building connections with the residents and their families. As a local resident herself, she often runs into family members around town, and they’re always happy to stop and say hello.
She takes great pride in learning about each resident’s interests and tailoring activity sessions to include the things they enjoy most. Julie also has a delightful little dog, Coco, who frequently visits the home and brings joy to everyone.

Diane consistently arrives early to help prepare breakfast for our residents, setting a positive tone for the day. She was honoured with the Essex Care Sector Prosper Award in 2023 as an “Unsung Hero,” recognising her outstanding commitment and contribution to care.
In addition to her daily duties, Diane serves as our Infection Control Champion, ensuring the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Outside of work, she adores spending time with her beloved grandchild.

In July 2026, she was promoted to Head of Marketing, where she continues to champion connection, compassion, and innovation across the organisation. Kate is excited to build on this new chapter, driving the company's marketing strategy while continuing to make a positive impact for residents, families, colleagues, and the wider community.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her horses and her beloved dog, Selly. A devoted family person, she cherishes quality time outdoors with her two children, Josh and Daisy, and enjoys making lasting memories with her family and loved ones.

As Customer Liaison Manager, I support families in one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, finding the right home for their loved ones. I guide and support each care enquiry with compassion and professionalism, ensuring every family feels heard, informed, and confident in their choices.
In addition to my work with families, I also oversee our marketing and advertising, helping to showcase the heart of our homes and the care we provide. I’m a people person at heart, and I’m proud to be part of a business that shares my core belief: life does not end with a dementia diagnosis. Our homes are places to continue living with dignity, joy, and purpose.
Dedicated and deeply passionate, I’m here to help, no question is ever too much.

Daisy is an 11-year-old community champion who has been visiting The Anchorage care home since she was a toddler. A few years ago, she created Through the Eyes of a Child, a heartfelt initiative designed to capture children’s honest reflections on their experiences of visiting the care home, helping staff and residents see the environment through a child’s perspective.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful programme that fosters intergenerational connections. Daisy encourages children from local schools to visit the home, building friendships with residents and taking part in activities, events, and outings. She has also developed feedback forms to ensure children’s voices are heard and valued.
Over the past year, Daisy’s compassion and dedication have been widely recognised. She has received a Champions of Care Special Recognition Award from Person Centred Software, the Community Cup from her school for her empathy and service, and the Saxon Weald Local Community Youth Winner Award for her outstanding contribution to the care home and wider community. She is also due to join the PDCCA Volunteer Friends Scheme in the New Year.
Now beginning to share Through the Eyes of a Child with other care homes across the group, Daisy continues to lead with kindness, empathy, and maturity beyond her years, proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.
