Valentine House

My mum has been in Valentine House since November and I cannot recommend it enough. I visit her every day and leave her knowing my mum is cared for by all the brilliant caring staff. I also see how kind and caring the staff are to all residents, not just the ones who's relatives visit regularly. They treat each one with the care and dignity they deserve. It's important to know you have chosen the right place for your elderly relatives especially when they are not able to speak up for themselves in some cases and I can certainly say we did. Thank you to you all!

My mother was in Valentine House for about five years until her recent death at 94. For four of those years, she was bed bound. My mother always spoke highly of the level of care she received and the compassion and helpfulness of the management and staff. As well as being aware of those things myself, I was also struck by the fact that, whenever I visited, every member of staff I saw, was unfailingly cheerful and friendly. I found it a weight off my mind to know that my mother was being cared for by the nicest and most professional staff you could hope to meet. I would recommend Valentine House to anyone.

Compared to the previous home she was just left in her room, when we went to pick her up to take her to Valentine House she could hardly walk or talk. She is now doing both.

The carers are friendly and the interaction between them and the residents and myself has always been positive and helpful. Daily activities include everyone at the home where possible. Mum has been well looked after since day one and this has given me the peace of mind I needed to continue to work myself. I have now applied to be a volunteer at the home.

The manager has explained the process to me and kept me informed of all aspects of my mum's care. Valentine House is a lovely environment, clean, bright and airy, full of happy residents and staff.

My mum is well cared for in Valentine House by all staff, everyone is so kind and helpful towards my mother. Nothing is too much trouble and I like to thank everyone for their hard work as it is much appreciated by my mum and her family.

My mum has been a resident for approximately 18 months and has settled in well. Her own words to me were it's very nice here, like home, everyone treated the same, very kind but not over the top so still have own space if you want. All the regular staff are great and mum enjoys a laugh and joke with them.

Valentine House provides a safe secure friendly environment for elderly residents. The care home is clean and presentable and the staff maintain a professional caring manner. The Management are always available to answer queries and concerns. We are very pleased Valentine House was chosen for a residence and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

I am extremely happy with all aspects of the care my mother receives. I would like to suggest that residents dirty washing/laundry is kept in a bag which is collected daily and a clean bag is left for future dirty laundry. This would be much better than the current system of putting the dirty washing in the bottom of the wardrobe as the clean clothes in the wardrobe often fall off the hangers onto the dirty washing. This is the only improvement that would enhance otherwise impeccable care.

The staff have made the whole experience of putting my parents into a care home as easy and as caring as possible, all my concerns have been eliminated. Thanks.

She has been treated with dignity and consideration at all times. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful at all times, not only to the residents but visitors as well.

The care home, in my opinion, is one of the best there is.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Valentine House; my mother has been a resident for some time now and she has always been treated with dignity and respect. The staff seem to go the extra mile for her and always make visitors very welcome. "Do you want a cuppa too?" is their catchphrase and it makes the visits better. They really helped when we celebrated her 90th birthday and laid on food, drinks and facilities. They are great, thank you.

My family and I are very pleased to have found such a caring residential home for my mother. I am constantly impressed by the care and general dedication of all staff. The rooms are warm and comfortable, the menu is excellent and the facilities leave nothing to be desired. Excellent all round.

My family are overall pleased with the care shown and the staff have always been so caring and show so much concern and interest. They always keep in contact with the condition of my sister and any problems that crop up. The staff are friendly and helpful with information and time.

Lovely friendly caring staff. No need for me to worry about my father's care whilst there. He has settled really well and seems happy and contented as he can be given his recent loss of his wife of 61 years.

My mother has Alzheimer's and is diabetic. Before going into care she refused her medication, wasn't eating properly, frequently had falls, was constantly abusive towards me. Now, however, after one year at Valentine House, she is healthwise more stable, much nicer to be with. The care she receives from the staff is first rate. My thanks to each and every member of the staff at Valentine House.
