Overall Experience
Excellent staff, seeming to always meet my husband's needs, the food looks delicious and as my husband was a hotel manager, and trained and worked at Savoy in London it certainly meets his needs.
Everything seems to be done to make him contented and happy.

He loves the staff, this is an exceptional establishment and has to be down to the manager, whom I can take this opportunity to sincerely thank, on behalf of myself and two adult children.

My mum's been living at Poppy Lodge for two years now, and I couldn't ask for better care. She had such a fear of going into a home, but is so happy there; she said she wishes she'd gone in sooner. The staff are wonderful, so caring and attentive. The home itself is so well run too. They do activities every day with the residents and try and make sure they all join in. The food is all freshly cooked and always looks delicious. If I had to go into a home, I'd want to go here.

Poppy Lodge is a warm, caring, family home. My mum is well cared for, and the managers and staff go above and beyond to look after her and her needs. Mums' dignity is respected at all times. Communication is excellent, and any issues are dealt with. Visitors become part of the family and are made very welcome. Thank you.

Overall Experience

Poppy Lodge took in our mother following a distressing experience with poor care at another home. From the outset, the manager and her staff have shown nothing but kindness and compassion towards Mum and her family. Our mother was in a poor state of health when she arrived at Poppy Lodge, eighteen months ago, but she has thrived under the excellent care she receives and is very happy there. We cannot thank the staff enough for continuing to look after our mum so well. It’s a lovely, warm, family home and we would have no hesitation in recommending Poppy Lodge to others.

I would recommend Poppy Lodge every time. It's very much a family home and everyone at the home is so helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. The care they give is from the heart and I cannot thank them enough.

Overall Experience

Poppy Lodge provided the best care for my mum in the final weeks of her life. Initially, she went there for respite care but sadly after a 2nd stay in hospital I was told End of Life Care was required and Poppy Lodge took her back with this in mind.

I felt comforted in the knowledge that my mum simply could not have been in better hands. She was bedridden for the final 2 weeks of her life and the staff there checked her constantly. I was able to make her room personal and familiar to her – even though she had vascular dementia.
The communication was excellent, the manager always made sure I was kept up to date with what was happening with my mum. Both the manager and the assistant manager are wonderful caring ladies and I cannot recommend Poppy Lodge enough.

Thank you to all the staff for making my mum truly comfortable, loved and happy. The compassion shown when my mum passed was so lovely and my wishes and those of my mum were respected and carried out to the very end.

I have nothing but praise for Poppy Lodge, my Mum has been a resident for the last 13 months, settled in very quickly and decided it was the place for her.
The Manager and her team are always friendly, helpful and very supportive which has helped my Mum to regain her confidence.

I would happily recommend Poppy Lodge.

Overall Experience

Poppy Lodge provided the absolute best care for my Nan in the past few years of her life. Although her dementia was quite advanced and had taken a lot of her mind, she was never more comfortable than she was when at Poppy Lodge.

I felt comforted in the knowledge that my Nan simply could not have been in better hands. The enthusiasm every member of the staff showed in making the residents' lives the best they could be always shone through.

The communication was excellent, the manager always made sure my Mum and myself understood what was happening with my Nan and how her dementia may affect her and her actions. The manager is an absolute diamond and I cannot recommend Poppy Lodge enough.

Thank you to all the staff for making my Nan truly comfortable, loved and happy. I know she would be screaming your praise herself if she could.
