Overall Experience

I had to make the choice of finding respite care for my gorgeous Mum. My Father and I had been caring for her at their home for some time and when my Father fell ill and ended up in hospital, it became clear we were not coping. Mum and I chatted with her palliative nurse who gave us a couple of options, one being Victoria Court. The lovely old Victorian House to be fair decor-wise was a little tired but the staff were really welcoming and realised how hard this choice was. I spent quite a while looking around, talking to staff who were all really happy to work there and had been there for a lot of years. It was clean and homely. The residents always came first and they were really kind, I was there every day and the staff worked well with Mum and I always carrying out our wishes for Mum and never rushing her and respecting her wishes. She passed away in their care and they looked after Dad and I when we came to be with her in her last moments with care and respect. Thank you all.
