Our family are very happy with the care my mother receives at the Bethel House, New Milton. The Manager and her team give over 100% commitment and they go above and beyond. We can’t thank the whole team enough for the care and attention they give to all the residents.
What lovely words about Bethel House. We are so heartened by your very kind comments about our wonderful manager and team. We shall ensure they all see your review so they all know now much you appreciate everything they are doing to care for the residents.
Mums wellbeing has been excellent, far better than when she was on her own, regular hair cuts, nails, general hygiene. Well done to all the team at Bethal House especially in such challenging times as we are in with Covid. Recommended.
Thank you so much for your lovely words about Bethel House. We are so pleased you are happy with the way we are looking after your Mum. Our priority is always to ensure that all our residents live their best lives with us. Our Facebook page is the best way we have to show you what we are doing here...
Bethel House staff and Manager have gone above and beyond the call of duty in caring for my mother who contracted pneumonia. She has recovered from this serious illness with the loving kindness, continued nourishment and daily care. They have had someone sitting in her room attending to her and arranged for us to visit her outside her window. They gave her complan as she had no appetite, and helped her to recover from a state in which she was non responsive, barely moving, not talking, and just taking sips of water, to full spirits again. She is now holding telephone conversations, they ring us when she asks for us. They have got her up and mobile again, and in the last week, she has been taken off the 15-minute checks that were in place before her illness to stop her wandering up the stairs and falling. She resides on the ground floor and has everything she needs. Despite having severe dementia, they maintain a happy disposition with her and have treated her exceptionally well.
Thank you for the wonderful review and we know that your mum has made a huge improvement. We pride ourselves in providing the best care and making a difference in the lives of our residents and families.
My brother was at Bethel House for a year, from April 2019 to April 2020. From the start, I loved the place, with its colourful walls and music. On his first visit, he was keen to stay in the lounge and listen to the singer. He made friends with some of the other residents and no longer seemed lonely or desperate to hang on to me when I had to go home. I had regular updates of any issues. I found the staff very supportive of me as well. I was encouraged to go in and sing to all the people in the lounge with my ukulele which my brother loved but a lot of the others did too. When lockdown hit I was helped to skype him on a regular basis and eventually daily to encourage him. My brother had Alzheimer's. Having seen him at home with carers dropping in, and at other residential homes on a temporary basis, which were good too, I have no hesitation in saying Bethel is exceptionally good. I know my brother was happy and well looked after, and I have lovely memories.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Bethel House. It was our pleasure to look after your brother, and we are so glad you have many happy memories of his time here. You must come back and entertain us all again when it is safe to do so.
Excellent in every respect.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are delighted you are happy with everything we are doing to care for your loved one.
Food was enjoyable.
All rooms were clean and comfy.
The staff gave up some of their time to entertain.
The manager and staff are friendly.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Bethel House. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us especially the activities which our friendly team provides for our residents. We shall ensure everyone at Bethel House see your wonderful words.
It’s been lovely to stay in touch in this difficult time via FaceTime, Skype and now visiting in the garden with all procedures being followed.
Thank you for all your care.
What lovely comments about Bethel House. Thank you so much for your wonderful review which we shall share with all the team who are looking after your loved one. It has been a challenging time for us all but we are delighted you have been able to stay in touch both through online calls and now garden visits.
I have been here for four years and enjoy the very good food. The staff are all excellent. It is a lovely comfortable care home.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Bethel House. We are so glad you enjoy the food and also the comfortable surroundings in which we are caring for you. We shall let our brilliant Bethel team know how much you appreciate everything they are doing for you.
We are always kept informed of any issues that should arise. It is lovely to see the many postings on social media and being able to video call or speak on the phone. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bethel House.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Bethel House. It is our pleasure to look after your Mother, especially during this difficult time. We are so glad you are enjoying all our social media posts. This is so important to keep you all reassured that your loved ones are staying well and happy in our care.
We found the staff and management at Bethel House very welcoming and good with communication. The only issue we felt was perhaps not addressed as quickly as we thought was putting down a 'wipe clean' floor in the bedroom. Also, we found our dad's nails were not cleaned very often, which was quite noticeable on occasion. Sometimes dad was not given socks to wear but when we mentioned this to one of the carers this was addressed. The staff were very caring and we always felt they had a bit of a soft spot for our dear dad, which was nice. When dad was well, he really enjoyed the food.
Thank you so much for your kind words about Bethel House. We completely acknowledge the points that you raise in your review and have passed them on to the Bethel team. Your dad was very welcome here as part of the Bethel family and it was a delight for us to see him enjoying his meals.
My friend, on admission, was very poorly indeed, we thought she would not survive for long. She was admitted to hospital twice with chest infections, but was returned to Bethel House when well enough, although still poorly she recovered well with the devoted care of all the staff at Bethel House. Until the coronavirus we visited her every Monday, sometimes taking other friends with us. I am convinced she could not be in a better place. The staff are doing a very demanding job, they never seem to stop, and in spite of everything they are so lovely to the patients, they make their birthdays special, the cook makes lovely birthday cakes. Everyone there deserves a pure Gold Medal!
Thank you so much for your wonderful words about Bethel House. These are very challenging times for all of us but the Hartford Care family's three principles of care, comfort and companionship still apply throughout. Our amazing team at Bethel and all our homes are doing everything they can to ensure residents stay safe and well. We will ensure your lovely words are seen by everyone there.
Bethel House is the best care home we have encountered. Over the recent years, we have had experience of quite a number of care homes with various relatives and friends and Bethel House is outstanding in the standards it achieves. Knowing the staff and the standards you expect the care to be good but it is even better. My mother-in-law used to be a professional ice skater, they even took time to take her to a local ice rink and to take her out on the ice rink. The care is brilliant.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about Bethel House. It is a pleasure for us to look after your mother-in-law and it was a delight for us to take her ice-skating where she had a fantastic time. Our brilliant Bethel House team will be thrilled with your review and your appreciation for everything they do for her.
Not only are the staff both very caring and very professional with my mum, she has been so well cared for. She is very content in the home. She has been treated with great care and respect. The staff here also made mum going into the home a little easier for me, knowing she is so well looked after.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Bethel House. We are delighted that you are so happy with the way we are looking after your Mum. We shall pass on your kind words to our terrific team who are caring for her.
My mother moved to Bethel House when her Alzheimer's made it impossible to live alone anymore. We were looking for a home where she would be happy, safe and well looked after. We found that and more at Bethel House. All the staff showed care, compassion and a due regard to dignity. The home is spotless and the residents are able to enjoy a lovely garden and being close to the beach. My mother enjoyed her little outings to the beach and an ice cream, or tea and cake in the garden. They have regular entertainment and all are encouraged to join in. Visitors are always made welcome. Although my mothers' stay was only for six months, I really felt she was at ease and felt Bethel House to be her home. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you all.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review of Bethel House. How lovely it is to hear how totally satisfied you were with the care and facilities your mother enjoyed while she was with us for six months. Please come and visit us any time as we would love to see you both again. You will always be part of the Hartford Care family. We will pass on your terrific comments to the Bethel team.
1st class. All the staff are extremely kind and considerate and make you feel a very welcome visitor. 100% caring.
Thank you, Harold, for your lovely review of Bethel House. We are so delighted that you feel very welcome every time you visit, and that you rate our caring so highly. We shall pass on your kind remarks to our Bethel team.
I always find my husband happy and the staff are always jolly and kind.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are delighted that your husband is so happy with us. We shall pass on your kind comments to our jolly staff there!
Very kind, caring and understanding from all the staff. Lovely atmosphere in the home.
Bethel House management have been excellent in their selection of staff. They are all, individually, most kind, caring and thoughtful. My wife, being a resident, has been very well looked after and made to feel comfortable and at ease. The pleasing decor and general bright appearance within Bethel House I regard as most appealing - this gives an inviting and most agreeable atmosphere. A highly recommended care home.
My husband has been a resident at Bethel House for the last 18 months, and is extremely happy even though he told me one day that the residents are all old! He seems to have forgotten that he is 85 years old! All the staff are extremely kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them to make the residents comfortable are happy. Visitors are always made extremely welcome.
My Mum was extremely anxious about leaving the family home. But I have been amazed at how well she has settled into Bethel House. All of the Carers could not be more kind, compassionate and thoughtful to my Mum’s needs. She enjoys the activities. The food is lovely. My Mum has been able to have a bath for the first time in 4 years as there is a specially adapted bath; which she really enjoyed. My Mum is in a lovely room on the ground floor with dual aspect windows and an en-suite toilet / sink. It is really close to Barton on Sea cliff tops for lovely walks. We really could not be more pleased. Thank you to everyone at the home.

Meet the Team (2)

I am proud to have joined Bethel House. It is important to me that the residents, their families and the staff team feel welcome, cared for and supported to enable them to build good relationships and happy memories for the future.
We will be working together to support the residents' sensory needs to enable them to have a holistic well-being while living in our home, by encouraging them to be involved in the social community of the home at the same time encouraging them to remain as independent as they are able to. Smiles, warmth and kindness will greet everyone who visits Bethel House.

I joined Hartford Care in January 2017 as a Senior Care Assistant at Bethel House in Barton-on-Sea in Hampshire, subsequently qualified as a Care Practitioner and have since been promoted to Deputy Manager.
The only goal I wanted to achieve when I joined Hartford Care was to make a difference in enriching and improving our residents’ lives and to create opportunities for them to live fulfilling lives.
