My mum has just had her one-year anniversary of being in Dawson Lodge Care Home and she is extremely happy and settled. This is a huge relief to the family after her diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.

The staff at Dawson Lodge are outstanding and my mum is very well cared for. Thank you to the whole team.

The staff are very supportive and went above and beyond in order for us to have a successful visit as Mum was not in a cooperative mood. The staff are friendly and helpful and provide a lot of stimulation and activities for all the residents.

The care that my mother is given is outstanding. All the staff (including office and reception) are kind, extremely helpful and most importantly always smiling. The fact that many of the staff have been there for many years says it all. The quality of the food (it's homecooked) is outstanding too. I cannot speak highly enough of the home and it's been the best decision for my mother and us, her family.

Extremely professional, efficient and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They offer support to families as well as residents. Fully informed at all times.

My dad has gone from laying in bed in a previous care home, to engaging, alive and very happy.

My mum was having one of her difficult days on her Birthday, all the staff gave her a lot of time and patients. Unfortunately, my mum's condition can be very challenging and I know my mum is in very good hands here at Dawson Lodge.

The accommodation is very clean. Friendly staff and always willing to assist in any way they can. Excellent meals are offered at a high standard from main meals to snacks. The only downside is having to provide bed linen.

Although we sadly live too far away to visit regularly, we are constantly bowled over by the incredible range of imaginative, creative activities which relate to what's going on outside eg. Jubilee, Commonwealth Games, keeping everyone in touch with the outside world and keeping fit and healthy. Each person's birthday is also made so special. This really is a truly special place where my children even say they would love to live. Thank you so much for the life-enhancing experiences that take place on a daily basis.

The staff at Dawson Lodge are very kind, helpful, polite and hardworking. In my opinion, one member of staff, in particular, has gone above and beyond to assist me in all aspects of help regarding my father. The main thing my father is happy and content.

My mum has recently moved into Dawson Lodge permanently after having a few weeks' respite. Mum was very apprehensive about moving in but all the staff have been so great, they have all made Mum feel so welcome. There isn't anything we asked for that they haven't sorted for her. Mum is getting quite settled now.

I would like to thank all the staff at Dawson Lodge for the excellent care my mother receives. When she developed Alzheimer’s, she became anxious and suspicious of all but her immediate family. It became difficult to keep her in her own home when she started to wander off. She always preferred being on her own, but since moving into Dawson Lodge she has gradually become relaxed, happy and outgoing. I have never seen her more content! I am very grateful to all the staff who are always professional and happy to help.

Whenever I have had to phone Dawson Lodge they always answered with cheerfulness and never made to feel annoying. My sister always looks clean, tidy and well looked after. That is one thing she is always so clear about, she always says that she is well looked after - so great to hear.

It is clear that the staff care a great deal about the residents and very lovingly gave Mum a hug when she was uncertain. My parents are at a vulnerable stage in their life and I have complete confidence that they are safe and well-cared for.

Due to Covid restrictions, my family and friends have been unable to visit in the 'pre-Covid' way but I have appreciated all that's been done to enable contact with them. During the short time I have been here, I have found every member of your team to be courteous, friendly, helpful and caring in all aspects. I feel safe and well cared for. I enjoy my meals and the variety on the menu. I look forward to my family and friends being able to visit me in my room when circumstances allow.

After researching care homes for my mother and visiting a few of them, I decided to visit Dawson Lodge. I was immediately impressed by the light, open and happy atmosphere. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and caring that I knew it was the right place for her. She has been there two months and says that she cannot think of a nicer place to be and the food is wonderful!

My parents came to Dawson Lodge Care Home after a bad two months at another home. My father was anxious and not happy. After only two weeks he is happier and had all the treatment required. Mum is also settling. They have both loved the morning exercise (chair) class and Mum never did exercise. The staff from the moment of my parents coming to the home were wonderful. I can honestly say the atmosphere and care of the whole team is second to none. Thank you.
