The care team at Dawson Lodge gets to know customers and work with them to organise stimulating activities that match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community. Dementia care is tailored to each individual and colleagues receive regular training.
Each customer’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements. Meals are cooked fresh and from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible by a highly trained Chef Manager and catering staff.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. My mother hasn't been in Dawson Lodge very long but so far the staff have looked after her well. They are very kind and treat her with dignity. Her room is a good size and well laid out. The staff keep an eye on mother in case she wanders. When you first enter the home it smells okay (not like some homes which smell awful. I like the way the rooms are referred to as flats and have a letterbox and door bell - which makes mother think she's in her own home.
I visit unannounced at different times of the day and this home is always an example of best practice. If I had to chose a home for myself I would put my name down for Dawson Lodge.
