Dawson Lodge is an amazing place to live. The staff are so genuinely caring and respectful towards residents. The standard of accommodation is fantastic and there is plenty of activities to participate in. Food is excellent. By far the best care home in Southampton.

My Nan has now been a resident at Dawson Lodge for just over a year and what a good year it has been for her. The staff are always making sure that she is happy, making positive changes to ensure she is living at her best, they are welcoming to our family on visits and keep us informed of anything they feel would be important to us. They encourage her to engage in activities which she would not have done a year ago and they make her feel valued when they 'chat' with her. Being a very private person most of her life, it is nice to know she has people around her to listen and share her experiences with. She is now much more sociable and we have the Dawson Lodge team to thank for that. In fact, we cannot thank them enough for all that they have done and continue to do for her.

Excellent care given over 3 years.
My aunt considered Dawson Lodge her home.
Her final days were difficult but she wanted to die at home.
All staff made this a positive for my aunt and the wider family.

Thank you.

I have only good things to say regarding Dawson Lodge each time I visit I am greeted very warmly by all the staff.
The reception area is a very bright, clean and friendly entrance with all the residents wandering around looking happy and feeling safe. All the other areas, lounge, dining and the flats are homely and very clean. I can ask after my mother at any time of the day and can telephone the home if I feel the need to.

The office and management are also very happy to help me at any time.

My dad has been in Dawson Lodge for almost a year. He needs full-time care and is provided with an exemplary team, always with a smile, compassion, understanding and patience. In addition, the apartments are comfortable, warm and kept spotlessly clean. The meals are excellent and laundry service without fault. Overall, Dawson Lodge provides a friendly and homely environment enjoyed by its residents and that their relatives can rely on the staff without concern. It's a real "home from home".

The care my father has received has been of the highest standard. All of the staff at all levels have been approachable and supportive, they are happy and friendly, a joy to deal with. My father is treated with respect and care at all times. The rooms are clean and large. The communal rooms are lovely, bright and cheerful and welcoming. I have eaten with my father on a number of occasions, the food is of an excellent standard. The setting of the home, set overlooking fields, is lovely and yet it is still accessible easily as it is on the edge of town with good road access. First rate!

The home is very welcoming and friendly. All the staff seem to really care and are very respectful of the residents and are very willing. The cleanliness is excellent.

The home seems modern and well maintained although it is 25 years old!

The food is excellent with a number of choices every day. Residents are supported individually to make meal choices. Tea and coffee is available at any time with cake/biscuits in the afternoon. The rooms are a large, well planned design.

My mother moved into Dawson Lodge in Feb 2017 following a fall and 3 months in the hospital. She is unable to walk and living alone is no longer an option. She was very low in spirit and refusing food. A few days after moving in, the home closed due to sickness outbreak. When the home reopened, I found my mother better in spirit, chatting more and eating a little. I am extremely grateful to the management and staff for this. It shows the care and attention they must have given her, at a very busy time for them. With their help, she has come to terms with the fact that she needs assistance day and night. The atmosphere in the home is warm and friendly. All the common areas and residents rooms are kept fresh and very clean.

Mum suffers from dementia and has been here for a couple of weeks. The level of care provided by the carers is exceptional and the facilities clean and well maintained. Meals are very good and snacks and drinks are available as and when required. Mum came here from the hospital and took a little while to settle in but was given all the help and support that she required through a difficult period. The management staff were extremely helpful in getting all the necessary paperwork and records set up and mum is now starting to feel at home here. I cannot fault the care and service provided.

My mother has been at Dawson Lodge for over five years and in that time I have been very happy with the level of care she has received. There is a lovely atmosphere there and all the staff from the kitchen to reception, managers and carers are extremely friendly and helpful. My mum always looks happy and well cared for in her clothes and appearance. The food is tasty and well presented. Dawson Lodge has a very pleasant and homely feel.

I cannot describe how pleased I am that my mum has moved to Dawson Lodge. The home itself is beautifully presented and laid out. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and caring, they made my mum feel at home from when she first arrived and it continues. My mum is thoroughly spoilt with food choices, she is a picky eater but always finds something on the menu that she will eat. I love that we can book to come and eat a meal with her in the dining room and it is an experience to savour; as good as a restaurant.

My mother went to Dawson Lodge mid October she and us as a family were made very welcome, the staff took good care of mum. Talking time with her to get to know her needs and making sure she joined in the activities. The care they took when she had a fall was excellent, making sure the doctor or paramedics were called Straight away. Unfortunately mum died over the Christmas period, we can't thank Dawson Lodge and their fantastic well trained staff enough for making mums last few weeks so good.
