From our first contact to the present day where my father is now a resident we were all looked after and supported through the difficult time of accepting that a transition was needed. My father was in control of making decisions throughout, making the whole experience as pleasurable as it could be. Gracewell never made us feel as though Covid blocked anything, in fact, it was a benefit as the family visitors got time to chat whilst waiting for test results. On the occasions, I needed to call out of hours I spoke straightaway to someone aware of my fathers case and circumstances who could reassure my worries. The carers are all very involved and cannot do enough to personalise the care wherever possible.
Gracewell of Sway appreciate moving into a care home can be an unsettling time. This is why we take the time to engage with family members and friends of the resident to make the process as smooth as possible, to get to know the resident on a personal level. We are pleased your father has settled in well.
Many thanks to the team here at Gracewell, we would always recommend you.
Thank you for your kind words. We believe we have a fantastic team here at Gracewell of Sway and your recognition of this is appreciated by every member of our team. By having a whole-home approach here at Sunrise we believe this creates a relaxed and friendly environment for our residents to call home.
Thank you so much for taking such great care for my grandad, what a lovely place it is. My grandad's care started at such a difficult time of the Coronavirus lockdown. The assessment was quick to arrange, and care began immediately, following full PPE procedures. All the family are impressed with the professional service given. All the girls are lovely. Highly recommended.
We believe our carers at Gracewell of Sway go the extra mile and for you to recognise this is invaluable to our team. We endeavour to provide the very best care for our residents, thank you for your kind words.
Although you only require a review for the last 12 months I comment on the resident’s time at Gracewell since 2016. She was made to feel very welcome after a horrible stay in hospital. I cannot fault the care and attention she received. The staff are very caring. She enjoyed the activities provided and certainly kept her engaged both physically and mentally. The staff were able to look after her needs as her dementia worsened. I would have no hesitation in recommending Gracewell to others.
The team here at Gracewell of Sway would firstly like to thank you for your kind words. We strive, as a team, to work closely with our residents so we can provide the very best care for each individual in our home, and we are glad to have made a difference.
During my mother’s 5+ year residential stay at Gracewell of Sway, I have nothing but praise for all aspects her stay; from the entertainment and activities on offer and the quality and variety of the meals, to the maintenance and housekeeping staff who ensure that the home is always looking its best and (most particularly) the carers who look after all the residents with good humour, thoughtfulness, tenderness and top quality attention to their individual needs.
Here at Gracewell of Sway we endeavor to provide the very best experience for our residents and their families. Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us, these will be shared with the team.
Gracewells handled the whole situation very sensitively with the whole family, and particularly my in-laws, at what was a very emotional time.
The staff have always treated them with dignity, kindness and eager to form a relationship with them.
A great team of hardworking staff at a particularly trying time.
Our care teams are central to everything we do in our home, your recognition of their passionate and skilled work is fantastic to hear. Thank you for your kind words, these will be shared with the rest of the team here at Gracewell of Sway.
Throughout her stay, she was treated with kindness and received excellent care. Not once did I experience any negative behaviour from the hard-working and caring staff.
When I visited, I was always made to feel welcome and invariably offered a cup of tea.
Your feedback is important to us, as is the care and well-being of all of our residents. We take great pride...
I am so grateful to all of the wonderful staff and management at Gracewells of Sway for keeping my dear friend supported and well under challenging circumstances. They have been incredibly thoughtful to keep family members up to date of all new procedures put in place. I knew that their genuine care for all residents is second to none and they should be extremely proud of all that they have achieved to keep everyone happy, supported and healthy. I cannot thank them enough.
Here at Gracewell of Sway we have worked hard to ensure all of the residents receive the highest quality of care and security within our home. Thank you for your kind words, these will be shared with the team and we look forward to welcoming you back to our home soon.
My late mother and late stepfather stayed at Sway for almost five years. They stayed after their initial trial month and were very happy with the home and its staff as was I. The food was good and I ate there quite often. My folks enjoyed their stay as much as they could, bearing in mind my mother's increasingly poor mental state. The other residents seemed very happy, albeit that there was always someone moaning about this and that - they never seemed to leave though, nor did their daily enjoyment of life seem to be affected.
Firstly, please accept our sincere condolences for your recent loss and thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Gracewell of Sway – particularly at such a difficult time. The team here are so grateful that your mother and step-father had such a positive experience of the home and this extended to family members and friends.
My good friend has been at Gracewell of Sway for two years. Me and my family have always been overwhelmed by the excellent care and service that my friend receives. It’s great to know how well she is looked after. I would highly recommend Gracewell of Sway and it would always be my first choice of care provider. The Management are very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s always a pleasure to visit my friend in her beautiful surroundings where she has never been so happy and well cared for.

Me and my sister have been at Gracewell of Sway for 18 months. I would always recommend Gracewell of Sway, we receive high-quality care and the staff are so friendly and helpful, they are like a second family to us both. We have lovely surroundings and I love my daily walks in the beautiful grounds. During Covid-19, I have felt protected and reassured.

Gracewell of Sway provided impeccable care for my father and my mother for a period in excess of 4 years until my father's death in May 2019 and my mother's later death in May 2020. I cannot recommend this home enough.

My relative has been a resident of Gracewell for just over two years and all members of staff and carers are very welcoming and accomodating. The overall cleanliness of Gracewell is good and there's a very relaxed atmosphere amongst the residents. The activities are fun and enjoyable and all-inclusive. I would highly recommend Gracewell of Sway.

I have lived in one of the cottages at Gracewell for the last four and a half months, and it has been a very happy time. Gracewell is coronavirus free, due I'm sure to the cleanliness and hygiene practised here. The staff are friendly and endlessly helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. The standard of catering is consistently good and sometimes exceptional. The cottages, in particular, are an exceptionally good idea and allow the complete independence of your own home. Some people have been here for 9 years. Proof!
Our dining team will be thrilled with your lovely comments. Here at Gracewell of Sway, we cater for each resident based on preferences and dietary requirements. Hearing this positive feedback is greatly appreciated by everyone in the home.
She was in a lovely airy but cosy room with her own personal effects. The staff adapted the care level for her changing needs. I have enormous gratitude to the home and their staff.

The high level of compassion, professionalism and integrity showed by all the staff was beyond expectation, confirming a truly holistic level of care which extended well above just meet 'basic needs'- thank you.
This culture of inclusiveness and kindness continues for my mother who remains within the Gracewell community. Given the current national crisis, this has given us the necessary reassurance and peace of mind. Thank you again.

My Mum stayed here for over 7 years and I can honestly say that the care that was shown to her throughout that time was of the very highest standard. I never had second thoughts about my choice of care home. I was always kept well informed of any issues, changes or concerns. The last few days showed the staff at their very best, and it was very humbling to see staff who had already done a long shift, want to sit with my Mum when they should be going home. I could not expect a higher level of care or a more dedicated team.

I have been visiting my sisters, who are residents in this care home for the last six months most days as I live close by and found the attention they get is excellent. Everyone of the staff members is very caring and the care home is very inviting, very tidy and clean.

Meet the Team (1)

I love to see residents flourish, and I’m so proud to see our fantastic team play an essential part in making that happen.
As home manager at Sway Place, it is hugely important to me that every person we care for is happy and feels safe. We work hard to ensure residents feel understood. For us, it is about supporting residents and enabling them to continue enjoying relationships with their loved ones.
One of my favourite parts of the day is the time I spend with residents and their relatives. It is a privilege to get to know them and hear their life stories.
I joined Care UK because it supports its teams. It is an organisation with clear values, and there are systems in place that allow each of us to do our best, so residents receive consistent quality care.
I have a BSc in Dementia Studies and an MSc in Gerontology and Ageing. I also have a level five qualification in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care. It is an area of study that I am keenly interested in, and I also spend time researching dementia studies at the Doctoral College at the University of Surrey.
