Overall, a good care home, although staffing shortages have meant a lack of continuity of care. Some areas could be improved, but others are good.

Mum has been in Sycamore since January 2022. We have never had cause to complain. Every member of staff we have met has been polite and helpful, also very good with Mum. Mum always says the food is excellent, also the staff. Sycamore is always clean and tidy. We have a very warm welcome every time.
I would highly recommend it to anybody.

My mum has been in Sycamore for almost three years, and the level of care is amazing. All the carers give 100% & really do love my mum. It's very homely and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has got Alzheimer's, so she can be a bit of a handful at times, but she is calmed and soothed by
the carers. I have no problem at all with her being there. She is loved, safe and cared for, just as I would treat her.

My mum has been a resident at Sycamore Cottage for almost a year now. The staff are fantastic, and they truly care for the residents. I'm really pleased with the care my mum receives, and when I visit, I'm always greeted with smiles. My mum is really happy. Thank you, Sycamore Cottage!

The care my mum received at Sycamore Cottage was excellent. My mum lived in Sycamore for five years, and I couldn't have wanted better care for her, especially her end of life care. I would definitely recommend the home.

Very caring manager, which mirrors her staff. It ain't got a swimming pool or landscaped garden but has got a family atmosphere and solid, dependable people taking care of residents. Mum loves it there.

This home is honestly been incredible. We had looked around a lot of homes because my Grandmother has dementia and she was no longer able to look after herself safely. The places we saw were all very clinical and felt like a hospital - something very different to the small cottage she was used to living
in. Sycamore is a smaller home with about 20 bedrooms and feels a lot more like a home. The staff are all like family and develop strong relationships with the residents. I always feel welcome and my Grandmother is happy. I cannot thank the home enough for everything they've done.

My friend has been living at Sycamore Cottage for about a year. She suffers with dementia. Before going into the home she was in a real mess. Now she is happy and looked after. The new Manager has a wonderful way with her which is a delight to see. The new Manager has made vast improvements to the home
and they are lucky to have her.

Very happy, warm and welcoming. Clean and staff very attentive, lovely and caring.
Now my friend has a new friend he's one hundred percent better, brighter with a sparkle in his eye, much more engaging.
Willing to do meals at all times when the people wake up or come in after sleeping. It's no problem
to help them.
Very good.

My father has been in Sycamore Cottage since the end of February 2017. We have seen a lot of changes for the good since CQC undertook a review shortly after my father moved in. I have been mostly happy with his care, especially as there are only 10 residents at present, which makes for a cosy atmosphere.

The

furnishings and décor do need some refurbishment but to be fair, the residents don't seem to notice or care, just us visitors. The manager who seems very good is aware of this and hopes to work with the owner to this effect. The quiet lounge needs TLC to make it more welcoming.

My mother has been in Sycamore Cottage Rest Home since December 2016 and from that first day, has been very happy. The carers are really kind to her and she always looks smart and clean. My husband and grown-up sons are also very happy with the way she is looked after and cared for.
