Woodlands is a thirty-nine-bedroom residential care home with an excellent reputation in the Fleet community for the consistently high standards of elderly care it achieves. The home was rated as 'Outstanding' by the CQC in April 2021. All the team are permanent, agency staff are never used ensuring strong personal relationships are formed between residents and team.

Trained carers provide 24-hour care and support for the residents, helping to support them in their chosen lifestyle choices and care needs. Residents' dignity and independence are respected at all times. There is a full activities and social programme for residents to participate and enjoy.

Outside, the home has large scenic gardens with a sheltered courtyard in the centre and an active gardening club. Elsewhere, there are level lawns, fish ponds and woodland with its own bluebell glade, all accessible by flat wheelchair friendly paths.

The residents are at the heart of the home, helping the chefs chose the menus and creating the activities programmes with the activities coordinator. Woodlands is a happy home, where the residents' happiness and welfare come first.

Staff are attentive and treat all residents with dignity and care.


There is an excellent range of activities which is stimulating and regularly reviewed. The staff put a lot of effort into encouraging residents to join in and especially join the trips out. The senior management at Woodlands foster

a 'family' atmosphere and include and support the resident's family.

Dad chose Woodlands because of its reputation for a very good care home and due to him needing more care and assistance than he was getting via home care. Since moving to Woodlands Dad has made new friends and the care has been excellent. He has come alive again. Dad really enjoys the quizzes and pub

For the more able residents (that have active minds) there needs to be more adult activities like the ones that are played at present are not good for active minds. They are fine for the residents that are not so fortunate i.e residents that have Dementia


More respect and patience is required for

all residents (there is some answering back from the staff, for the residents that are more able to have their say)


More trips out are required to break the residents' week up (at the moment the trips out are only on a Friday)


Rooms need to be cleaned more regularly as when we visit there are often dirty cups and crockery left in rooms. More cleaning i.e vacuuming and dusting required.


The staff do work very hard as they have to cater at all different levels.

I have found this care home very kind, friendly and caring. The staff are excellent and I feel welcomed every time I visit. All the staff have gone out of their way to try and help my Dad settle in and everybody is very patient.

There is an excellent feel to Woodlands as soon as you walk through the door. Every single member of staff clearly cares about the residents. There is an abundance of activities provided and all residents are continually encouraged to join in.
I have recommended Woodlands to many people with total

Woodlands is warm and welcoming. No "bling", just a homely environment with well trained staff who care for and support not only the resident but also the wider family who they come into contact with. The twice daily activities are well thought out and constructed to enhance the day for residents. My
father really enjoys them especially the concerts, poetry group and the cookery club. The whole team are well managed and are like one big family. No agency staff are used so residents are being cared for daily by familiar faces. Residents are treated with dignity and respect and kindness. There are some residents with dementia and the staff are always so patient. Although we wisely looked at other care homes we always came back to this one. It has a lovely atmosphere. My father has been here for 6 months and is very happy & settled. I visit him a few times a week & can honestly say that I have no concerns whatsoever. He is in very safe hands.

Woodlands have been excellent and very supportive towards my father in law. They have encouraged him to get involved in different activities and trips.

When I visited my granny whilst she was having respite care with Woodlands, the staff were always very helpful, cheerful and always willing to spend a few extra minutes when needed. Granny was always looked after with care and they couldn't have done any more to make her stay any better.
A lovely room
looking out on the beautiful gardens with the nature to watch.
Lots of activities to take part in and also had the joy of the hairdresser. Granny was content and happy and our family wouldn't hesitate to ask for more respite with a view of permanent residence in the future.

My mum moved into Woodlands. The atmosphere was lovely and calm and everyone was very welcoming. There is so much choice with the food. My mum's room is wonderful with a dual aspect of the gardens and the ensuite is lovely. Staff are really helpful.

My mum moved into Woodlands. I found the staff very accommodating, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Her room is outstanding and she looks out to a beautiful garden. The home is lovely and clean and well presented. The food is well-presented. The food is all freshly made and lots of variety.
The activities that are available are brilliant and the trips out weekly.

My mother has been a resident at Woodlands for 4 years and is very happy there. She was a diabetic, living alone and no longer able to manage her illness. Woodlands have been marvellous in managing her diabetes and other age related medical conditions. We too, feel part of the Woodlands family and are
always given a warm welcome when we visit. Mum particularly enjoys various trips out in the minibus to garden centres, shops or the seaside.

Mum has been at Woodlands for 3 months and has settled in very well.
The staff are very kind and made the transition from our care to theirs with compassion and understanding.
The home and Mum's room is always very clean and tidy. Mum has always enjoyed her food and is fed very well.

Mum entered Woodlands after her dementia required her to be looked after. She had a beautiful room, always kept very clean and well organised.
Her behaviour, as the dementia, progressed became more challenging - but the staff were patient and always treated her with respect and she always told me she
was happy there and didn't want to move.
The management staff kept me updated on mum's health and condition and were so approachable and caring. Mum passed away in July and they were very supportive.

I looked at several care homes locally and chose Woodlands because it seemed a very homely, friendly care home.
My mum has not looked as well as she does in a long time.
The home is lovely and clean generally and her room is clean and tidy.
My mum always looks clean and tidy and she is obviously
well fed and enjoys the food.
The staff are attentive and kind and obviously work as a team.
We can visit at any time and any questions or queries are always addressed promptly.
Nothing is too much trouble and the staff always look happy.
I would recommend Woodlands to anyone needing a home for their relative.

Happy residents, excellent full-time staff (no agency workers). Always feel welcome when visiting.


Rooms and furnishings very much suit the current elder generation, and the gardens must be seen to be believed.

My mother-in-law has lived at Woodlands for over 5 years. During that time she has been treated with dignity and compassion The care is wonderful and all the staff are lovely. Everyone at Woodlands knows my mother-in-law as the home only employs permanent staff and never uses agency staff. My mother-in-law

Woodlands have cared for my uncle in an outstanding way. All the staff really make an effort to care for the residents who live at Woodlands. He really enjoys the garden and trips out to the pub and garden centre with the other residents!

I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.


I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.
