From the initial assessment, the manager and her deputy were so kind and understanding. The support they gave to me and my family was wonderful. The other staff were very caring, dealing with my husband who took a while to settle. I would certainly recommend White Lodge.

The care provided to my dad at White Lodge is always tailored to his individual needs and mood on that day.
The care staff go above and beyond to meet his needs and keep him settled.
The support from staff to all of residents has been a pleasure to watch, their individualised approach to each resident
evidences how much they really care.
White Lodge feels like a home, a family.
Carers are always going the extra mile to ensure my dad is happy. They have grown to know his likes/dislikes/wants and needs beyond belief, as this changes so often.
As a regular visitor, I am always welcomed by staff and fully updated on anything I need to know in a timely way.
All residents appear to have great relationships with the carers and this is evident through all interactions.
My dad is the most settled he has been in many years and I cannot thank White Lodge enough for the way he is treated, cared for and supported.

My son moved into the home in June 2023 and is enjoying living there. The staff are very supportive and understanding and are willing to help in any situation. The rooms are all of a good size and easily accessible and the Chef provides excellent food both in choice and quality.
Visitors are made to
feel very welcome and the staff are very attentive to the complex needs of all residents.

This care home has very good staff who care for each resident's needs. Plenty of space in 2 lounges plus outside garden and garden room. All residents' shared rooms are clean and tidy. There is organised fun and games which residents can participate in if they wish. The staff have looked after residents'
special needs.

My Aunt is currently in hospital waiting for a suitable nursing home to be found. Her needs are now complex and she requires 24/7 medical care.
Prior to this she was at White Lodge Rest Home for 18 months where she was safe, comfortable and very well cared for. From the top down all staff were attentive
and caring. In my view they went above and beyond what would normally be expected in terms of her welfare and fighting her corner when it became obvious that other input was needed due to the deterioration of her mental health.
I will always be grateful for the care they gave to my aunt and to me during that period.
I highly recommend this care home. Thank you

My father attends a few days a week and really looks forward to his visits. The staff could not be more supportive and friendly. He always compliments the chef on the standard of food and the cleanliness that is presented. Lots of activities are provided to stimulate mental capabilities and physical.
The whole environment is welcoming and fully inclusive ensuring that each person is valued as an individual and respected.

My husband attends one to three times a week, he really enjoys going there. The staff could not be kinder. The chef will adapt to personal taste and the food is cooked very well. They have people coming in to do different activities, mental, music and exercise etc. The staff are very caring and make
sure everybody is happy and enjoying themselves.

Our mother has been a resident of White Lodge for two years now. I had viewed four different care homes prior to viewing White Lodge and it didn't take very long during my initial visit to know that White Lodge would be the perfect care home for Mum. The warmth and welcome that I received from the manager
and the care staff on that day was outstanding and continues to be the same at every visit. Mum has dementia and I feel so confident and extremely happy with the care and support she receives. The care staff and management always treat her with kindness, respect and dignity and it clearly shows how deeply they care about Mum and all their residents, which is such a comfort. Mum is so happy and settled at White Lodge and absolutely loves the fun and enjoyment that the care staff bring and really enjoys all the delicious homecooked meals and puddings! I'm so grateful to all the staff and can't praise them enough for how wonderfully they look after our mum...thank you all!

My mum has been a resident of White Lodge for the past year. She really wasn’t looking forward to going into care but accepted that it was inevitable. She hasn’t looked back and is much happier now than when she was trying to live independently. The staff are what makes this place, they take time to
talk and show an interest, they play scrabble with Mum and take her out shopping. From what I have seen, the place is well managed, clean and safe. She tells me the food is good and has put on weight which she needed to do.

My cousin moved into White Lodge in April 2017 as she was not coping in her flat, with her ageing years, learning disability and OCD.

Since being in White Lodge she has become much calmer and her OCD has become less. The staff have been so kind, caring and patient with her and seem to be able to

manage her problems. The home has a warm, happy atmosphere with all the staff working well together, which makes for a loving happy home for the residence.

I cannot praise the staff at White Lodge highly enough. They are always warm and friendly, treating each individual resident with care and respect.
The ratio of staff per resident is always high. Every single day is different as they offer a wide range of activities and entertainment varying from armchair
aerobics, bingo, live music, quizzes, animal therapy and arts and crafts.
A hairdresser and chiropodist visit regularly at a reasonable cost.
Nutritious meals are freshly prepared on the premises with a choice of menu with a choice of menu. Each afternoon a fresh fruit platter is served. Tea/coffee and soft drinks are always available. Hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the home is A1. My mum has likened it to a 5 star hotel and I would agree.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.700)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.700) out of 10 for White Lodge Rest Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.800 for White Lodge Rest Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.8
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for White Lodge Rest Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
