My 95 year old mother spent the last two years of her life in Cooperscroft. She was only ever met with kindness and compassion. As a family we too felt held at all times. The surroundings, the food, the gardens and the general atmosphere made it feel like a friendly hotel rather than a nursing home.
All mum's visitors ageing from of6months to nearly 70 felt welcomed at all times. Although mum was completely bedbound, due to the scrupulous attention of the staff, there were no bed sores. It was a comfort to know the home could access GP advice whenever necessary and that the experienced nurses knew so much about ageing and dying. To stay in a room filled with flowers, her own books and familiar furniture, overlooking the garden was a blessing for mum. Mum was an introvert refusing offers of wheelchairs and attempts to involve her in wider aspects of home life. The activities team tried hard, even planting sunflower seeds with her in the room. Thank you Cooperscroft we won't forget you.
Reply from Pradeep Dcruz, Home Manager at CooperscroftThank you so much for your beautiful message and for taking the time to share your experience of your mother's time with us at Cooperscroft. It was truly an honour to care for your mum over the past two years. Your kind words mean the world to our team, who work with genuine compassion and dedication every day. Knowing that both your mother and your family felt supported and comforted means so much to us.

Your staff are a joy, nothing is too much trouble for them and all is done with a smile. Laundry service is very good and obliging. Parking can be extremely difficult.
My value for money comment is not detrimental to your provision, just that it is a huge amount of money to find every month.

Your appreciation means a great deal to the team, and we will be sure to share your lovely comments with them. We're also pleased to know that you are happy with our laundry service and the level of care we provide. Just want to say a big thank you for everyone at Cooperscroft, they have welcomed my father into their care with so much love and respect. Dad was very difficult to deal with and respect. Dad was very difficult to deal with but at Cooperscroft nothing is an issue. He is mixing with other residents which
hasn't done before. He seems very relaxed and loves it here, wish we moved him years ago. Best care we have ever had. As a family, we feel his safe and we are so relaxed, always clean and a beautiful place to be in.

We had a very satisfactory visit to Kenwood Houses and cafe and the resident really enjoyed looking at the paintings and the journey there and back. The taxi driver was very helpful and also the carer who came with us.

Our experience has been amazing. All the staff have been welcoming, attentive to my mother in law and just kind and warm. The care home is clean, of a high standard and we feel relieved that mum will be safe and well cared for. One staff member in particular has gone above and beyond to make our transition
from hospital to Cooperscroft as seamless as possible which we thank her for - from the bottom of our hearts. We can now spend quality time with her and make new/happy memories in the time we have left.

Brilliant. I never thought such a place existed. From the minute I arrived looking apprehensive I was welcomed by smiling faces. Care, courtesy and kindness are second nature here. My room was spacious light and bright. My compact bathroom contained everything necessary. The large window looked out
over a beautifully landscaped garden with ducks swimming on the pond. A weekly menu arrived on Saturdays followed by a menu for subsequent weeks. A weekly menu covering a range of activities is offered. All of my laundry was done after my clothes had been named which was out of sight. Totally recommended with a gold star 10 out of 10.

From the initial enquiry phone call to Dad's final day, the staff at Cooperscroft have exceeded all expectations.
Our Dad's final three weeks have been made more bearable by the outstanding level of care and genuine kindness every single member of the Cooperscroft team gave him. Moreover, they have
provided a level of support to us, the family, that I would normally only expect from friends and family. Thank you.

My mum was moved to Cooperscroft on 28th December 2023. The community development manager and all the management team have been fantastic from the moment Mum came through the door. no question was silly! Moving my mum here was the best decision we made.

During my dad's stay, he has felt safe and secure and very well looked after like a family unit. I cannot fault Copperscroft for the care and attention that they have shown my dad. When visiting, my family are made to feel very welcome in joining in any activities that may be on each day and also make
it a warm and friendly place to stay and visit. The staff go up and beyond their duties, which shows their care and kindness. Many thanks.

Where do I start? My dad has only been at Cooperscroft for just over a week and to say my brother and I were upset at the prospect of Dad being in a home is an understatement. My mother moved into Cooperscroft Care Home when I was unable to care for her at home anymore. She was fiercely independent, drily witty with an abundance of character, which could be challenging on occasions. The staff at Cooperscroft cared for her with respect and dignity. If they hadn't, she would
have said! I had peace of mind knowing that she was being looked after by kind professionals. Unfortunately, Mum was not well enough to participate in the activities provided and so I cannot comment on those but I was always impressed by the cleanliness and atmosphere whenever I visited. I have no hesitation in recommending Cooperscroft and I would like to thank them for caring for my mother in the final months of her 101 years of life.

Cooperscroft care home has proved to be an excellent choice. From the friendly advice and help received arranging a placement, making what could have been a stressful process easy and relaxing. To the exceptional daily care and friendship given all of the staff couldn't be kinder. The rooms and the

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.967)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.967) out of 10 for Cooperscroft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.967 for Cooperscroft is calculated as follows: ( (358 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 369 Ratings = 4.967
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cooperscroft is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
