My mum has been in your care for 6 years now and in that time she has gone through a lot of changes and her needs have always been met with confidence and care. She has always been happy and stimulated. I have found the care staff to be considerate of her feelings and needs. Nobody is unsure of their role and it appears that all the staff are well trained.

Thank you for caring for and about my mum.

Reply from Tilly Leitao, Customer & Sales Co-ordinator at Mountbatten Lodge

Thank you for this kind review about the staff and the quality of care your mother has received for the past 6 years. Our in-house training department provides effective training to staff on a regular basis, which our Home Managers then oversee once they return to the home to put it into practice....

When I first had to make appointments to look for a care home for my mother Mountbatten Lodge was the only one of six where I was told to just turn up! The residents were enjoying an exercise lesson and a resident's relative was full of praise for this care home. My mother has been there 9 months now. The home has 4 units and therefore 4 lounges and 4 dining rooms, which makes for a comfortable, homely atmosphere. There is a lovely cafe/meeting room where the residents get together for varied entertainment. Another lovely quiet room leads out to the popular garden. The home is always clean and tidy, meals on time, laundry is done efficiently and nothing is too much trouble for the carers working there. They are extremely kind and patient and I can leave my mother in the knowledge she is in safe hands and well cared for.

My nan moved into the care home as she couldn't return home. My nan calls it home. Her room is lovely, clean and practical. The staff are so lovely and the atmosphere is like family house.

There are lots of activities which family can also take part in. The staff are wonderful and are very caring for my nan. Just wanted to say a big thank you.

Mum is very happy at Mountbatten. We feel she is given the right level of care, whilst leaving her some independence.

Any problems are sorted out quickly and we are informed.

My only concern is that a lot of good long-term staff are leaving which can be upsetting for people with dementia.

They are leaving because of restructuring, not because they are unhappy here.

Reply from Tilly Leitao, Customer & Sales Co-ordinator at Mountbatten Lodge

The wellbeing, safety and happiness of our residents is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we are continuously striving to improve the quality of service in our homes. My mother moved into Mountbatten Lodge in February and we were not sure how she would settle.
She has not been diagnosed with dementia so we are delighted that she considers she is in a lovely hotel and insists she is not going into a care home.

Thank you to all the staff for helping her feel so content, safe and happy.

The home is lovely, it is the first contact that I have ever had with a care home and I am extremely pleased with my choice.
The home is a very welcoming place with a lovely atmosphere and the residents are very well cared for. The staff are alert to patients needs and are very good with my dad who is extremely hard of hearing.

I would thoroughly recommend Mountbatten Lodge to anyone interested in accommodation for a relative.

I can only say that my husband has received the best of care and attention in the 5 and a half years he has been on Mountbatten Lodge. I think the caring is marvellous and the office staff are always there to hear any problems we may have.

When my father arrived at Mountbatten Lodge he was so weak, he was having trouble walking and hardly eating and speaking. we had been caring for him at home and thought we were providing the best care. Until he came here. They have given him back his independence and care for him like a member of the family. He is very happy and loves the staff who treat him wonderfully. They also support us and understood how we felt. I highly commend and recommend Mountbatten Lodge

Staffed by lovely people with good facilities.
The only problem is items constantly go missing - I do not mean stolen.

Teeth, hearing aids, glasses (spectacles), wheelchair or its foot plates.
