My mum walked in with natural trepidation on 28/4 after 68 years in her own home. The team met her on arrival, showed her to her suite where a wonderful gift basket was waiting for her.
They then showed her to her reserved dining table and she was HOME.

No longer nervous of climbing stair, waiting for food deliveries, washing, house care and responsibilities.

SHE WAS HOME AND SAFE!!!

Cate, Stevie and the team welcomed her with open arms, warmth and kindness. A weight of her mind and ours.

From day one she was a person, greeted with dignity and made to feel so so welcome.

We as her family are so grateful that the first few hours were not intimidating, frightening and alone. She as a resident is so so HAPPY and that is job done.

The manner in which she was welcomed has continued and escalated every day since she walked in two weeks ago.

It is everything we as her family and she as the recipient of care could have dreamed of

Thank you Cate, Stevie and all of the team

My mother is 96 years old. She has lived alone since my father died at 58. .. My mother has had two falls and her confidence went. on Monday I realised either I moved in with her or get her respite in the care home. . I walked into the home. I was greeted by Stevie and the most loveliest receptionist nurses and carers. I watched just for five minutes how much care and attention they were giving all the residents there.

After a wonderful meeting and a view of the care home I went to my mother and said you would get great respite Care here. Two days later she arrived. I watched the care, love and respect every person who worked there gave my mother the following morning when I went to visit her again she said I'm never leaving here. She has been there for three days and I have never seen her so happy and full of life. she can't wait to tell my brother and sister and I what a great day she's had. I met so many wonderful residence and already made many friends Thank you so much

The lady I've been helping look after has only just moved into Elstree View but right from the start all of the staff and colleagues have been extremely attentive helping her to settle in quickly and not be anxious or disorientated. She seems very well cared for and happy to be so well looked after. The care seems far better than anything she had previously received in her home. Long may it continue.

Elstree View - my mum. The building and comfortable furniture make it feel homely and inviting and the decor and fitments are so well thought out it is a pleasure to visit my mum. She settled quickly as everyone is so friendly and has a lovely room with a kitchenette and a lovely bathroom with a walk in shower. The carers are all wonderful and so friendly, caring and obliging. She is enjoying going to some form of chair keep fit every morning and we can see it has already helped her mobility and walking. She will love being outside in the summer in the lovely gardens with a fantastic view of London. There's a great coffee lounge with drinks and snacks available all day, called The Bistro and with the friends she has made she can sit and chat whereas before at home alone she was lonely and bored. She loves the musical entertainment they regularly have and other interesting activities. I can relax knowing she is so well looked after day and night. She is so much happier.

My mother has been a resident at Elstree Avery Care Home for almost three and half years. In that time she has received the best care and attention that has made her stay comfortable and so friendly. Mum has enjoyed the various outings including stately homes, restaurants and cinema visits. Since Mum's entry into the home she has managed to put on weight. She is always encouraged to eat well and looks forward to all her meals. The staff at Avery really look after Mum so well. When we visit Mum we come away feeling good and know she is happy. Thank you to all the staff for creating such a friendly and helpful atmosphere.

My mother, who has been in this facility for almost 6 years and has dementia, has been looked after by the staff as well (probably better) than I or my family could have done. Also, the staff (cleaners, food staff, carers and particularly the manager at Elstree). Treat my family and I with friendliness, understanding, time and attention. Personally, I think the best choice we could have imagined for mothers' care has been shown at Elstree Views.

We were thrilled to find Elstree View and the moment we both walked im, we both felt that my mother-in-law, who had been in rehab following a nasty fall would finally realise that she could no longer cope with living on her own. Elstree View has given her a new stage in her life, and she seems to be so very happy with the home, which truly feels like a home. She is loving the meals, the room and hopefully will get to make some new friends.

My mother had a most fantastic two week respite stay at Elstree View.
The experience was incredible at every step of the journey. Prior to going to the home, the client relationship and wellness managers assessed my mother's needs and made sure they were met during her stay.
All the staff were fabulous. They each took pride in their work and the care home. They are wonderful with the residents, treating them with the greatest of respect and kindness. Always with a smile on their faces, they are all terrific.
The facilities are beautiful - the communal lounge and dining areas as well as the garden and private rooms.
There were activities on offer each day, catering for different needs and interests.
The residents seemed happy and were all lovely to each other.
All in all, my mum had a great experience, as did I when I visited! I am sure my mum will be back for another respite stay to recharge her batteries!

My mother initially arrived at Elstree for respite care in July 2024, after she had had a fall and broken her hip. As she has been so happy there and well looked after, she decided to stay permanently. My mother is very sociable and could sometimes get very lonely at home, so it's been wonderful to see how much happier she is now. She has made lots of lovely friends and the staff are outstanding. They all genuinely care and nothing is too much trouble. All her medical needs are looked after by the excellent in-house nurses and the accommodation is newly furnished to a high-spec. My mother really enjoys the food and the entertainment laid on is regular and to a high standard. The surrounding gardens are very pretty and a nice place to have tea in the afternoons when the weather is nice. I have been working in a care setting for 20 years, and it's been the best choice I made. I had the privilege to grow up with my grandparents around me and care for my mother; therefore, to me, the elderly will always be my family, and as such, it felt special walking into this home eighteen months ago. My role as BOC is central to all other departments, ensuring the administration function continues to flow smoothly. I am committed to helping the dedicated team, residents and families, giving my best at all times. It is always a pleasure when a resident knocks on my door with a query or stops for a chat in the corridor. I enjoy listening to them, I respect them and am always happy to help and bring a smile.

I have been part of the Elstree team since 2007. I started working within the housekeeping team which I very much enjoyed, and I then developed my skills and became part of the care team. This taught me a range of knowledge that has helped me to understand our residents and their needs and preferences. I then became the dining room supervisor which I loved and stayed in this role for 10 Years. I am now the Reception Manager and part of the front-of-house team.

I love meeting and helping people throughout the day.

I’m honoured to work in a great organisation such as this. I have worked for 9 years and 8 months, and I’m passionate about delivering high-quality service and am very strict on infection control. I have a great and dedicated team under me, which I’m very proud of. My goal is to ensure that everywhere in the community is clean and tidy and that our residents are safe from contracting infections.

I wanted to give back to the community in a meaningful way, and I love being part of a team that makes a real, positive difference in people’s daily lives. I genuinely believe everyone deserves a safe, dignified, and comfortable place to live.

I particularly enjoy being the Maintenance Coordinator as it lets me directly improve residents’ quality of life, whether I’m quickly fixing something to prevent discomfort or proactively maintaining the home, so it always feels warm and welcoming. I take great pride in knowing that a well-cared-for environment helps our residents feel secure, happy, and truly at home.
