The care provided here for mum is exceptional. She is treated with respect, dignity and kindness and as she is so vulnerable this is truly a gift. All the staff do everything they can to make her experience a good one and the integrity, comradery and humour is palpable here. It is not just a home for

We really notice how each resident not just my mum is treated individually specifically with so much care and patience, kindness and lovingly. Despite all the difficult circumstances the staff find themselves dealing with it is always done well, brilliantly actually. Food is always great mum always
clean, always something going on for her. We couldn't be any more reassured in her being in the best place she could be. Thank you with all my heart.

Although I've put 'May 2023', my review relates to my friend's stay for the last year or so of his life. He was cared for really well and would never have had such a dignified end of life without the care and support of the home and all the staff.

My 96-year-old uncle finally agreed to move to a care home after several years of doggedly trying to retain his independence. We, his family and his friends were concerned about his ability to continue living independently. We were glad when all other options were rejected in favour of moving to a care
home. We arranged a visit to Elstree View and were very happy to find that members of staff remembered him from a previous stay to convalesce following surgery and made him very welcome. Further discussion achieved agreement and he now resides happily at Elstree View in a very nice flat where he has integrated into the community. It is evident that he is receiving excellent care and is fed regularly and well. He is gently and respectfully treated and his health is monitored and I receive regular reports. It is a pleasure to deal with the staff and our concerns about his living standards and safeguarding have been addressed.

I have found the staff caring and attentive to my mother.
I found that when she first moved into Elstree View, the staff were well acquainted with her needs. Carried out a pre-assessment view when she was in the hospital and complied with her dietary requirements.

I live in Israel, in a senior citizen community, and was really keen to visit my family and friends in London. But I know that I cannot cope alone in a hotel. My sons heard about Elstree View and one of them visited a while ago, then reported to me that he was confident about my staying with you for
a short time. I do not need help with the basics of life, I self-medicate and can shower and dress myself, though I do need a stick for balance etc. I found every member of staff understood my strengths and my weaknesses so that I was confident at all times. I entertained friends for sandwich lunches, and exactly what I had asked for appeared on the table in the Family Room at the right time. We were offered drinks and served beautifully. In every respect I can say that Elstree View and all the staff can be proud of the way that I experienced my ten days with you. Thank you for everything.

Both my parents relocated to 'Elstree View Care Home' several years ago. When my father died, my mother continued to be cared for by the home and has since moved to the reminiscence facility. I have come to know the leadership staff very well, especially during both transitions; and have become better
acquainted with the new key staff members and carers over the last few years.
As I live in the USA and cannot visit very often, the connection to the team is critical: they have become my new UK 'family'. They keep me incredibly well and regularly informed as to my mother's well-being; changes in circumstances; and specific needs. I feel completely confident that she is receiving excellent care; and this is consistently backed up by what I see during my visits: patient, attentive and gentle treatment of my mother. While she cannot talk much, the smile on her face when she interacts with the carers assures me that she is comfortable with and respected by them. Exemplary!

Being a volunteer at Elstree is very rewarding, to see the residents' faces light up when I walk through the door says it all. I am made most welcome by the concierge team who I often see interacting with family members, residents and staff. As busy as they are they go that extra mile. A big shout out
to the dining room staff who are so attentive, serving all the residents with a smile. The atmosphere is warm, cosy and very homely. You need to have a big heart working in a care home, everyone at Elstree View certainly has one. This home is top-notch, I am giving it a 5-star rating.

The care home team became Mum's second family during her two years of being a resident. The care given came from the heart, not something that can be taught. From the office staff, domestic service team, reception team, laundry team and carers we thank you all. Elstree runs like a well-oiled machine,
never failing to provide in all areas. When Mum became unwell the support shown to her and us was exemplary. Whenever we left after visiting we knew she was in good hands and that if a problem did arise the nursing team/carers would keep us updated with any information while also liaising with outside medical teams. The dignity shown in her final days will never be forgotten. The support to me while spending time with mum, people popping in to ensure I was ok, cups of tea and reassurance that if I needed anything “just ask”. As a family we highly recommend Elstree.

Having visited Elstree View on several occasions, I have found the staff very friendly and the residents happy and engaged with the great activity programme. Very clean home, with nice menu choices. Would recommend this home as it has the wow factor.

During my time here over the past few weeks, I have found that my own, wellbeing has indeed been a key factor on my way back to recovery. The care administered to me as well as other residents in the home has been for me a 'caring experience' and one that I shall have fond memories to take home with
me. Being active in participating in helping out in the quiz evening, singing group and reading to the residents on the second floor (I shall miss). I hope to be back for Christmas and take the Harvest Festival Service.

I'm delighted with the care my sister-in-law receives at Elstree View Care Home. Having moved her here from another care home, I really noticed the improvement in so many things. The rooms are much more luxurious and spacious. There are more activities, and the staff are more attentive. I receive regular
updates by email on her well-being and am kept in touch with anything that may occur. All in all, I would recommend Elstree View to anyone who needs care. My mind is at rest that she is very well looked after.

My mother has been a resident at Avery for almost a year. She tells me often how lovely the staff are, always looking after her and making her comfortable. She likes to be independent and she is supported to do her own thing but also encouraged to join in the numerous events and entertainments that
go on daily. I am a regular visitor and can see for myself how dedicated all the staff are to my mum and all the residents and visitors. Reception always greet you so warmly and all the carers are helpful and do whatever they can for your comfort and wellbeing. Too many names to list but special mention to one member of staff in particular who goes above and beyond to make things run smoothly for my mum sorting out everyday issues as they occur. The director of community relations is also always on hand to make us laugh and swiftly make arrangements for us as required and advise on any questions or queries. The beautiful building and gardens need to be seen to be believed. It is a comfort to know that my mum is being so well looked after.

My mother entered the care home last December after a week's stay in hospital.
As a family, we have found every member of staff extremely friendly and helpful at all times.
Since being at Avery my mother has put on weight and maintains a healthy appetite. Avery offers weekly outings to the cinema,
and museums and drives into the country and Mum enjoys these trips. The entertainment provided is excellent. Mum has settled in very well and being at Avery gives our family peace of mind, knowing how well cared for Mum is.

My Mother has been at Elstree View since 1st June for respite following an insurance loss requiring her to find somewhere to stay. The staff have made every effort to make her feel at home, welcomed her, and go out of their way to find activities that she personally enjoys. All the staff are helpful
and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. They treat the residents with such compassion and respect. It is highly likely that she will remain at Elstree View instead of returning to her home.

My mother has been with you for just over a year and, in that time, I have noticed how well she has settled, in no small part due to the excellent care and attention she has received, with dignity at all times, in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Staff are friendly, approachable and efficient, appearing
to be happy in their work, with a genuine interest in the welfare of the residents. The building is light, airy and spotlessly clean, with beautiful, well maintained grounds and the food is of a very high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to those considering a similar facility in their later years.

I started working in the elderly care sector in 2010 and have been at Elstree View since 2019.


I was promoted from Dementia Care Manager to Deputy Manager in 2022 and to General Manager in 2023.


My background is predominantly in dementia care, and I was extremely proud to complete my postgraduate Master’s in Dementia Studies in 2019.


I am passionate about providing person-centred care for our residents as well as supporting family and friends to be involved in the care of their loved ones.


I find my job hugely rewarding and it is great to work with such a long-serving, committed and caring team here at Elstree View Care Home.

My name is Simona Ciuperca and I am the Deputy Manager at Elstree View.


I started with the company in January 2021 as a Residential Care Manager and I am very happy to call Elstree View home.


I first started working in Care Industry in 2010 initially as a Registered General Nurse. Since then, I have grown and developed in the management area, completing my QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care and Leadership.


I feel very passionate about residents’ care and ensuring that high standards are reached and maintained.


Every resident living in our community has a voice and we are here to support their choices while respecting their dignity and providing them with the support they need to start a new life at Elstree View.


As someone who likes to be challenged and has a proven aptitude for providing a high level of professional care with a truly resident-focused approach, I am excited to utilize my management expertise and significant nursing skills to ensure our residents enjoy the best possible lifestyle.

I started working in the care sector 2014 as a care assistant and have worked in various roles within social care, developing my skills and knowledge along the way. I completed my Level 5 diploma in leadership and management in health and social care in 2019. I have been working at Elstree view since July 2022 as the dementia care manager on The Orchids and can honestly say I have enjoyed every minute.

The reason I am so drawn to working in care is knowing that each day I can make a difference in someone’s day no matter how big or small that difference is. Working as a dementia care manager can be challenging at times but I find it truly rewarding.

Everyone deserves to receive the highest standard of care possible so taking a personal-centred approach is a key part of my work ethic. I am very passionate about working with those who are living with dementia and supporting their families. I will also do everything I can to support my residents and their families.

I first started working in the care sector in 2009 when I started as a care manager for Elstree View. I have worked my way through different positions within Elstree View over the last 15 years where I have now found myself dealing with all the new enquiries that come into the community which I do enjoy very much.


It is great meeting potential new residents and giving them a tour of our home as well as hearing their stories on how they have come to stay at Elstree, some being sad as well as happy. I have been working in a care setting for 20 years and it's been the best choice I made. I had the privilege to grow up with my grandparents around me and cared for my mother, therefore, to me the elderly will always be my family and as such, it felt special walking into this home eighteen months ago. My role as BOC is central to all other departments ensuring the administration function continues to flow smoothly. I am committed to helping the dedicated team, residents and families giving my best at all times. It is always a pleasure when a resident knocks on my door with a query or stops for a chat in the corridor, I enjoy listening to them, I respect them and am always happy to help and bring a smile.

I am a passionate, caring, approachable and respectful person in everything I do. I love my job and feel loved by everyone, always being asked many times how I keep my infectious smile in everything I do.


I started my job 10 years ago as a housekeeper, going room by room where I felt like I was visiting many homes while still carrying out my duties, having a chat with our residents, offering support and respect. After 8 years as a housekeeper, I was given the opportunity to become a Dining assistant, and then more recently I was offered the position of Dining room supervisor where I feel much appreciation from my colleagues and residents, I feel proud that I can demonstrate my abilities, improve my performance, while spending more time with our residents, and obviously not losing my smile.


I am always considering the residents as my parents, I try to comfort them, reassuring them that I’m here to help because I’m a sensitive person. I’m professional and I care very much.

I have been part of the Elstree team since 2007. I started working within the housekeeping team which I very much enjoyed, and I then developed my skills and became part of the care team. This taught me a range of knowledge that has helped me to understand our residents and their needs and preferences. I then became the dining room supervisor which I loved and stayed in this role for 10 Years. I am now the Reception Manager and part of the front-of-house team.

I am really pleased and honoured to have joined the elite team here as a Maintenance Manager in 2018, a team which really listens and gets involved in the day-by-day life of the residents. Since starting my career in care in 2005, I gained vast experience, skills, and knowledge, I am happy to apply my DIY skills in a place which I consider not just my home, but my second safe and comfortable one for me and everybody that live and visit our community.


Interacting with residents, having a laugh, a discussion, offering support and attention, it really does make a difference in our and their lives. Every day is different, every day makes my day. Home is where the heart and my toolbox is. Together, we are a family.
