The Royal Marines bandstand is on the green a few minutes away and musical concerts in the summer are a great feature of Deal life. The Deal Lifeboat centre and the yachting club nearby adds to the local marine interest of the Walmer area. Good local shops, the town centre and Deal Castle are a short distance as are GP surgeries and all other services.
All rooms are thoughtfully decorated and equipped and residents are encouraged to bring in their own favourite furniture and possessions. Care workers provide a safe, homely atmosphere and a totally flexible life-style. Emphasis is placed on individuality and independence. Residents enjoy a choice of meals, prepared daily, using freshly purchased, local produce.
Staff are always pleased to meet with visitors to discuss their needs.

Our father was admitted for respite care to Walmer Care Centre. He was extremely well cared for. The staff were wonderful, demonstrated excellent person centred and communication skills.
The Manager and her team ensured we were always updated on our fathers care and immediately alerted us when issues arose. When we visited they ensured we had a quite place to see our father.
They took into account his personal needs and balanced these with his emotional and physical needs. They were also willing to listen to the families views and always took these into account when making decisions.
Although our father didn't wish to be involved in the daily group activities, they ensured his interests were always taken into account, providing one to one support, magazines etc that interested him.
Sadly our father was unable (due to his condition) to remain at the home. However they ensured the transfer was done with as much dignity as possible.
We would highly recommend this care home and cannot express our thanks enough to the Manager and her team.
Lovely home, and lovely staff.

I have been working at Walmer Care for 10 years, I started as a health care assistant and have progressed until becoming the registered manager 2 years ago after completing my level 5. During my time at Walmer I have completed Dementia Care matters course, implementing person centred care and breaking down barriers within the home through staff training and environmental changes. I am motivated to improve our residents quality of life from the moment they get here and ensure they receive an outstanding level of care.

I have been working at Walmer Care Centre for 18 years, I started as a health care assistant, completed both NVQ 2 & 3 and progressed to Deputy manager. During this time I have also been given the opportunity to become a Dementia Care mapper to help enhance person centred care.

I have been a team member at Walmer Care centre for over 20 years, during that time I have been supported and encouraged to develop professionally, currently doing my level 5. I am now the deputy manager which makes me feel valued, respected and appreciated. During my time here I have been instrumental in implementing the Gold standard framework, this leading to improving end of life care at the home.

I have been at Walmer Care Centre for 17 years, and have been providing activates at the home for 10 years, I have an NVQ2 in Health and social care and have completed both Napa Training and daily sparkle training to enable we to provide those activities in the best way possible. In 2016, I was the first person to win the Kent in Care award for putting people first. My hope is to provide person centred and life history driven activities for all our residents however far along their dementia journey they are.

I have been with Walmer Care Centre for over 20 years, providing a balanced and nutritious diet for the residents. I have a City & Guilds qualification in food preparation and food safety from Canterbury Technical College and have also achieved a supervisory kitchen management qualification. I really enjoy a themed challenge but the most rewarding part is seeing our residents enjoy lovely home cooked food.
