Dad has been a resident at Oakdene for 2years,when he 1st entered into the home we were really worried about leaving him, he had been diagnosed with dementia and mum couldn't cope with his care anymore. Sharon and Julie came to our home to talk to us and put our minds at ease, from day 1 the staff welcomed dad as though he was an old family member. His personal care was wonderful they made sure he was always clean and comfortable, offering dignity and respect. His medical treatment from the carer's was always patient and cheerful. The kitchen staff offered a variety of foods which always looked very tasty. The home was always clean and tidy, the house keeping staff were thoughtful when entering his room, the handyman always there to assist. The biggest fault of the home was they all cared too much and we're so invested in the care of the residents. During dad's last days I can't thank the staff enough for their support and care to dad myself and my family.

My mother arrived at Oakdene Rest Home on the 17th December 2025 suffering from dementia and she was treated with excellent care and empathy until her passing on the 17th April. We have nothing but praise for the staff and management at Oakdene care home.

A lovely relaxed care home. Friendly, helpful team of people that make you feel really welcome.
Mum is a new resident at Oakdene, she has been a little overwhelmed since her dementia diagnosis but the team have really helped her relax and settle in.

It's so nice to have peace of mind that she is safe and being cared for in such a lovely home.

I cannot fault Oakdene, their care comes from the heart and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are all professional, kind and warm and the way they interact with my Mum is totally endearing and this brings me comfort and joy. Meals are varied and always look so delicious. I wouldn't want my Mum to be anywhere else!!!!

My stepfather has had a few health problems lately and some middle of the night trips to hospital. I have been advised of the problems immediately and kept informed of the outcomes. I can't fault the wonderful people that look after and care for my step father. It is such a reassurance for me as I am not able to visit him. Their facebook page is a wonderful means of seeing what he is up to most days, whether it's having his hair cut or eating his lunch. I am very pleased I chose Oakdene

I was a little bit concerned when dad went into the home that he wouldn't settle. Nothing would be further from the truth.
He has settled very well and seems to be enjoying what he has left of his life. I'm sure the staff will fully know who I'm on about when I say that he can be heard singing most days.
The staff do a grand job if he's nice to see him in good spirit every time I visit.

Well done to all involved and thank you for caring.

I am very pleased to say that my mother is genuinely very happy and content living in Oakdene Rest Home. As am I, with the knowledge that she is always safe and secure. The care and support that we have both received goes above and beyond expectations. Always treated with the utmost dignity by all the staff and management. I can't thank them enough.

I was very struck from our first visit to Oakdene by the warmth, friendliness and hospitality of all the staff without exception. All the residents we met were treated as if everyone of them were the most important - including my mother, who was treated with the utmost kindness, dignity and a very high level of nursing care. The 'open house' policy of Oakdene gave me a great deal of reassurance, knowing that each visit would be welcomed, even at the busiest of times. The hard work and dedication of all the staff made Oakdene a real home and an absolute pleasure to visit. Thanks to all of them!

My mother-in-law's care at Oakdene was, in short, exceptional.

I cannot fault or give high enough praise for the staff at all levels. You might say that the home itself is not modern & shiny, but it is homely and any appearance falls into insignificance when put against the kindness and standards of care shown to her & to her relatives. At the end of her life the determination of the home to care for her at the home was brilliant and we can truly say that thanks to them, her end was calm & peaceful & what we all want - to die at home, for that is what it is. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My elderly mother has been a resident at The Oakdene for roughly 6 months now. General staff and senior staff have been extremely helpful for both Mum and the family. Mum appears to be settled in now and although dementia is an issue we are coping with, the staff fully understand and adapt to her needs. It wasn't a situation we wanted her to be in, but we are at least safe in the knowledge she is in good hands.

My husband recently went to live at Oakdene and I can't rate the care he receives high enough. Family can visit any time of the day and have always been greeted warmly and often with an update on how he is. The carers are so kind and have endless patience and do everything they can to make sure the residents are happy and settled. The manager is very supportive of family and always available to answer any questions we have. She clearly loves her job.

My brother has now been cared for at Oakdene Rest Home for over a year now and in that time he has been cared for exceptionally well. The staff have maintained a consistently high level of care in every aspect. The overall establishment is always clean and tidy and my brother's room is kept as he would wish it. It has not been an easy acceptance for my brother to accept being cared for 24/7 as he lived on his own, but with dementia his life changed considerably. Oakdene has provided a special home for him. I am glad that I chose it for him.

Mum came here at the end of March following a care assessment by Social Services as she was no longer safe at home.
The manager and her team have provided a welcoming and caring environment for Mum. Staff are attentive to Mum's needs and have done everything they can to ensure she is comfortable while she settles into her new home.
Mum's room is clean and suitably furnished and we were able to bring some of her personal belongings from home, including her favourite family photos.

Knowing that Mum is now in a place where she is safe, getting appropriate 24-hour care and close enough to family so we can visit regularly is a huge relief.

Our friend has been a resident at Oakdene for a year and 4 months now and we couldn’t be happier with the consistent level of excellent care that she receives. All the staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make the residents feel safe, loved and comfortable creating a happy and loving home atmosphere. We are so grateful to all the staff for everything that they all do for our friend and they give us great comfort knowing she is being well cared for. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone who is considering it.
