My father was admitted to Oakdene Rest Home on release from the hospital feeling very poorly. The staff at Oakdene Rest Home have been so kind, caring and very welcoming to us when we visit. He has enjoyed the friendly interaction with the staff and fellow residents. The staff are very cheerful and go the extra mile to support Dad with his physical and mental health. I would most definitely recommend Oakdene Rest Home.

My husband has been in Oakdene for over a year now, and they have really looked after him so well. It has been very challenging for them as his dementia has progressed, and sometimes, he can be quite nasty towards the staff, but they cope very well.

I have been here four years and it been pretty good. I've been a stubborn man sometimes, always got it fixed. We all have great times. I've never had Covid, I would like to go for a walk but I've learn to come to terms with that.

My dad was only in the care home for 6 weeks but he settled in very well and he was looked after very well too. The carers and managers kept in touch with me all the time and I will always be very grateful to all of them.

My mum has been a resident of Oakdene since July 2018 and I can honestly say it is the most caring residential home that we could have ever wished for. It's a tough decision to place a family member into the care system and there's always a small part of you feeling sceptical. Well, the staff at Oakdene are absolutely amazing and totally there for the right reasons. They truly care about their residents and have been exceptional with looking after my mum treating her as part of their own family. It's heartwarming to know that, our family are not able to be with her, she is never alone. It's been a really difficult year not being able to visit during Covid-19 restrictions, but the closed family Facebook page has been a lifeline for us with staff taking time out to share photos and videos. Thank you so much for everything you do, you are all amazing and the support/empathy we are currently being shown at such a difficult family time with Mum receiving end of life care is phenomenal.

I am guardian to my friend who is a resident/service user at Oakdene. He is looked after and cared for very well. The staff know him and deal with his dementia excellently. I am very happy with his care, and the staff communicate with me regularly and when any changes occur. Through the pandemic and lockdown, they have been wonderful. I have no concerns and know my friend is so cared for, loved and looked after.

My Dad has been in this care home for nearly three years. It was hard to let him go as we did not know how he would react or what the conditions were like. We have been so impressed with the staff and the way the home is managed. They keep us informed via video calls, photos etc and Dad has always looked happy and well cared for. During COVID, they have been extraordinary, with regular testing, safety protocols in place and strict guidelines for visits. The videos they send us when they are chatting to Dad show him being touched and held just like we would love to do. Birthdays are a special event at Oakdene - with cakes and balloons, I would recommend this home for your relative.

Upon arrival at Oakdene Rest Home, the first thing I noticed was that it doesn't smell, it's just like walking into a clean, family home where there's usually something delicious wafting from the kitchen. Staff and management are very caring and quickly made my dad feel safe, loved and wanted. During the covid restrictions, we've been able to window visit as often as we want and senior staff take lots of photos and videos, so you can still feel like you've shared a part of their day. It's a small home that's easy to navigate and has several social areas including a quiet area. Staff are understanding of dementia and there's tea, biscuits and hugs on tap. It's a relief to our family that he feels safe and happy now.

Extremely pleased with the care and love given to my mother-in-law since entering this care home. She has settled in very well, and we know that she is being well cared for. She appears to be happy and comfortable with her surroundings, and the staff are all brilliant with her, which has taken a huge weight off our minds.

All the staff are pleasant and helpful. Always looks clean. Patients all seem happy. My niece has been well looked after as they all have good and bad days. I used to know 3 other residents and all seemed to be content. Another relative was in there years ago and it has changed for the best.

The staff have delivered a high level of care with a consistent level of companion for my cousin while recognising the needs of her family during the Covid pandemic. They have done all that they can to ensure that the dignity of my cousin has been preserved, despite the restrictions associated with waking in a covid secure way.

I am so pleased to be able to submit a review about Oakdene Rest Home. It is a fabulous place and all of the staff are fantastic. I have several other relations who have gone into rest homes and believe me, they were not a patch on Oakdene. The residents are involved in various hobby types of activities not least singing and dancing. They all seem happy and contented. The food is very good and the residents are very well cared for, clean, tidy and smiling. I could not wish for better. Such a shame about Covid and the restrictions but they all still seem fine. Thank you for this opportunity.

My mother has been in Oakdene Rest Home in Minster, Sheppey for over three weeks now. Mum is not going to get better but the care given to my mum by all the staff has shocked me. The staff care as if my mum is their mum. They are professional, caring but don’t dwell on the sadness of the situation. This is the best move possible for my Mum as previously we were unsure of how she would cope. Thank you to everyone.

Oakdene Rest Home has provided my mother with a safe, stimulating and respectful home during this coronavirus, after months of her living alone since dad died, they always provide a very high standard of support to all residents alike and their experience shines through. My mother appears to be very comfortable at Oakdene and I appreciate the care they take. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Oakdene.

As a family, we got to crisis point but we are so lucky that mum is now in a safe and caring environment where she can be stimulated or relaxed. We have seen a marked improvement in her well being. So worried about Covid-19 but the care team have been sending amazing photos and videos - we didn’t expect this service. The Care Manager has listened fully to our needs/concerns and equally, she has encouraged us to drop in some items we thought mum would never use or wear again, it’s been a transformation. One team approach, so happy.
