Pine Lodge Care Home

My 85-year-old father-in-law was becoming too frail to manage on his own. After a fall, we needed to find him a nursing home and move him from South London to be closer to us. It was just at the start of lockdown; the staff at Pine Lodge made the process so easy for us and him. He settled well and spent that last three months of his life happily living there. The staff were lovely to him, and this made our lives so much easier, particularly with all the restrictions in place. Sadly, we lost him on Sunday, but we take comfort in the fact that he was happy in his home.

We lost mum to this awful disease on Christmas Day. The staff at Pine Lodge could not have shown more compassion and support for our loss and theirs too.

The family are extremely pleased with the level of care given to my wife’s mother. Having experienced residential care in another home over 30 years ago, for my own late father, and the current negative press you hear in the media about these type of homes, I was very apprehensive before she came to Pine Lodge. Within days of her arriving we all felt and saw the care and love the staff and management team give to their residents. There seems to be staff around her all the time to meet all her needs, day or night. All the staff seem to go that extra mile to make them all feel wanted and part of a bigger family unit. We couldn’t thank you enough for what you’ve done for her plus taking a huge worry off her family. We can all sleep at night knowing she is safe and receiving the best possible care. Thank you so much. To anyone looking for a good level of care should view Pine Lodge first before they make a decision.

I have found the staff in the care home to be very friendly and efficient. The management is very nice and helpful and looks after my mother very carefully they are always cheerful and happy to help. My family were very pleased that we had chosen this care home.

I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The managers also as when my father died they treated us as though they were also a part of the family with nothing but respect and care. We were so glad we chose this home and have no regrets at all.

I honestly don't know what would have happened if I didn't have Pine Lodge. Living in a different country and having a Mum with dementia is traumatic enough. Knowing she is loved, cared for, part of the Pine Lodge family, allowed me the peace of mind to visit and leave her knowing she is well cared for is priceless. The garden is beautiful. When I visit or telephone a carer is always able to give me an up-to-date account of how my mother is. She is treated with love and respect. But she would value more one-to-one time with staff but they always seem so busy.

My father spent the last four years of his life at this care home, growing gradually more frail until he passed away there. He was as happy there as it is possible to be in a care home. The single most important factor in his contentment was the staff. They are so caring, gentle, friendly yet professional and they appreciated and responded to his sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble, however dependant he became. They couldn't have done more for him.

My mum has only been here for a few months but from the very first day, we were made to feel welcome by ALL the staff. I feel happy and content that my mum is being well looked after here. All of the staff are so kind and friendly, they also have a lovely lady that organises activities. The food is very nice, I have stayed for lunch with mum a few times.

Rooms are perfect and well maintained. The manager is totally involved and cares about "staff" and customers. Food choices are excellent and wide-ranging. You pay for what you get!!

Six months later even though my mum has vascular dementia she is telling me how wonderful it is how all the girls are nice and she has a wonderful room. She is nearly 97 and it is a great relief to my sister and myself that she is happy. All the residents tell me how happy they are when I talk to them and I am sure this rubs off on everyone.

Always clean and tidy and smelling fresh. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

No matter what was going on elsewhere it was as though our mum and ourselves were the only ones there. The care given to mum was first class, we were told everything that was happening. Mum was treated with such dignity and love. The staff all worked so well together, a good team. Mum was in 'The Pines' for one year, absolutely first class care.

My mother has been a resident of Pine Lodge since 10th December 2015. After visiting many care homes in the area, we decided this was the right home for her. Since she has been there her health has improved 100%. She has put on 2 stone in weight and is very happy, the care she receives is excellent. The food is very good, the managers are always very helpful and the door of the office is always open. This is my mums forever home.

I have no hesitation in recommending Pine Lodge.

Although Mum and Dad chose not to get involved in the activities, there were always activities going on. They always made sure that they were together, as for them this was most important that they could be together. Pine Lodge was able to offer a double room for them to share and be together in their later life and for them this was most important.

The staff at Pine Lodge have treated my aunt very well, we experienced some problems when my aunt went from full self-funding to council aid funding but once these problems were sorted out we have nothing but praise for Pine Lodge.
