Henry Cornish Care Centre is registered for thirty-six residents and offers a team of skilled and friendly carers, able to provide residential, early-stage dementia and respite care for older people.

Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

Dad was first in Henry Cornish as an intermediate care unit patient after breaking his hip, but when Mum sadly died earlier this year he chose to move in as a permanent resident. The move was handled very well and he has settled in as well as possible in the circumstances. Care is good and carers are
always friendly and helpful. My only gripe is the door entry system out of hours (when I usually visit) as you can be waiting a while to be let in/out. This isn't a criticism of the staff who get to you as quickly as they can when they are busy - but I wish there was a better system!

I am very grateful to everyone at Henry Cornish. I had all that I needed and the staff were attentive. And kind. Much of the care was outstanding and every problem was attended to without any fuss. The meals were excellent and hot and on time. My room was very comfortable. I was lucky to have a shower.

My father has been with you for a week, and we have been very impressed with the Centre. Outstanding, friendly staff and very helpful. He is being very well looked after, and we are very grateful. The only problem has been trying to access the Centre - it's not clear when you arrive how to get in -
the doors open automatically but the bell is outside the outer door! Thank you.

I was transferred to the repatriation hub at Henry Cornish in order to be closer to home. The staff were second to none. They were efficient, friendly and attentive without being in your face. I was very impressed. The physio staff were particularly good and very impressive.
My only complaint was that
the food was either tepid or cold. There was plenty of variety but when served cold it was not very appetising.

Henry Cornish Care Centre has been very good. Everybody has been caring and helpful. There have been one or two times that I haven't been happy, it was dealt with straight away. So I recommend anybody to come here.

Recently went to visit an old school friend at Henry Cornish Care Centre.
My friend said he felt very comfortable and enjoying his stay there, also saying the food and staff were excellent which I noticed when entering the centre and being greeted by a very pleasant number of staff. My overall experience
of visiting my friend was that it was an excellent, efficient well run, management centre with good professional members of staff, very clean and warm with delightful home facilities.

My mum has had two stays at the Henry Cornish unit in the last few months. She has received excellent care on both occasions and the staff have all been helpful and friendly both to Mum and all of her many visitors. The unit provides a fantastic service particularly in Mum's care, where she was discharged
from hospital but not ready to return to her own home.

Only saw Mum a couple of times in the home due to the distance, however on both occasions her food was terrible, two slices of cheap white bread with chunky pate and a frozen eclair and the second meal also had extremely small portion plus no veg. Mum arrived in the evening and although she asked, completely
missed two meals that day too. Her room was very sparse, the bed was very old with a torn mattress and one old sheet. Mum said most of the carers were lovely except one who put his fingers in her mouth with the pills!

My husband was a resident for almost 2 years. He was cared for sensitively and with dignity. Carers built positive relationships with him and treated him with respect. There was always chatter and laughter which created a lively atmosphere. As he became frailer and more withdrawn he was still encouraged
to participate. The staff were always happy to discuss his care. It is a welcoming environment and the professionalism of staff is impressive.

My mother has been very happy at Henry Cornish Care Centre. There is nothing that she doesn't like about the facilitates, food or carers and I am happy that she is happy. The home is secure with very friendly staff.

Caring, friendly and responsive staff.
They are quick to deal with situations and communicate with family. They are also responsive to questions and requests.
They communicate with Dad (and other residents) in a caring, supportive and positive manner.
If time/resources allowed would want carers to
proactively encourage Dad to exercise/move more.

Everyone seems kind and helpful but Mum says things can be chaotic and when she asks for things they don't sometimes appear. She tells me the food is very good. The only time I was concerned was when Mum messaged me about a caring concern. The Henry Cornish team sorted the concern immediately.

I am not used except by other residents to conduct quizzes and questionnaires. Otherwise very empty and boring. Used to be involved in gardening etc. (Could be again).

After arriving at Henry Cornish Care Centre after being very ill, I was met from the ambulance by a very kind carer. From then on I couldn't be more grateful. If I need anyone, there is always someone there to help.

Laura Beadle

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

Laura Beadle - Laura has over 12 years of experience in Residential and Nursing care settings. Laura currently holds an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards her Level 5 in Leadership and Management within Health and Social Care. Laura was previously the Head of Care here at Henry Cornish, since 2019, before being promoted to Home Manager.


Laura really enjoys working for OSJCT and has done so for the last 4 and a half years. Laura says, ''I love making a difference to people’s lives and being able to do this day to day within my job brings me joy. Being a Manager for OSJCT means that I can lead a team and promote a fun, welcoming and safe environment. I am looking forward to the challenges that this role brings and I want to bring my team, residents and their loved ones along this journey with me.''

Michelle

Michelle Eden

Job Title: Head of Care Joined: 2019

Michelle has been a part of the Henry Cornish Team for over 10 years now and has been promoted to Head of Care, working her way from a carer to Care Leader and now Head of Care. Michelle Helps staff with their training and has an open door for them if they need anything. Michelle will always try and help swap shifts etc. to help the staff out.


When not at work Michelle likes walking, she climbed Snowdon a few years ago and is looking forward to walking more mountains in the near future. Family is everything to Michelle and has grown up children and grandchildren plus her beloved cat KITKAT !!"
