My mother felt very lonely, with a great lack of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and staff support to talk and exercise. Mum's food was always cold which I witnessed on several times. Also several times the water was cold so she got a quick wash in cold water.
I’m sorry your experience of our home has fallen short of the high standards we are used to. Specific decisions relating to physio and occupational therapy are taken by residents’ medical teams and not by our carers at the home. The home manager has seen your feedback and will review the elements that are within our control.
It's just like being at home.
I'm so glad living at Henry Cornish feels like home! It's a pleasure to have you with us. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
The building is beautiful, the food is wonderful most of the carers are kind and friendly, some like a good talk now and again, duties permitting.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience at Henry Cornish - we really do appreciate it. I will make sure the manager sees it so she can share with the team.
I have spent seven weeks in the intermediate care unit of the Henry Cornish Care Centre having rehabilitation after suffering a hairline fracture in my femur, essentially learning to walk again. I count myself as very lucky indeed to have been referred here, especially as my home is nearby. I have been treated with great care and consideration by both nurses and carers and I appreciated the opportunity to see a GP each week. The physiotherapists and occupational therapists have been excellent, preparing me for life at home. The food is often very good but sometimes could be healthier.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, and I'm glad to hear you're on the mend. I will pass on your comments to the home manager to share with the team - we do appreciate your feedback.
I was in a lot of pain, but they provided me with excellent care.
It is early days for my mother who has just moved into residential accommodation from living independently and is finding the transition difficult at times. The staff have been helpful, caring and professional, both with my mother, and also answering our questions and concerns with patience and kindness.
What a lovely few hours we all had yesterday at Henry Cornish at their annual BBQ. As usual the manager and her team make everyone feel welcome. As a family we were a total of 10 it was lovely, the great grandchildren were as welcome (and catered for with games) as everyone. The pony was a great success. Can't wait for the next event. I've said it before but its true we are blessed my mum is safe and loved in Henry Cornish.
I cannot recommend Henry Cornish Care Centre enough. Having looked after my mother for as long as I could, I had fought hard against putting her in a residential home, but as it turns out it was the best decision myself and my siblings could have made. My mother has the most fantastic carers and they are of course around 24/7 if required. They are all such a wonderful group of people from the carers to management and they communicate fantastically and provide encouragement not only to my mother but to us too. I initially felt very guilty about putting my mother in care, but actually, it has so many bonus points for my mother that this has soon faded. I like to see this more as my mother has a new home, but with fantastic care inbuilt. The feeling is not one of a rigid, inflexible place, but it is all about the residents and making the families feel welcome. It is about inclusion for all, not exclusion. Top marks.
Very pleased with Henry Cornish Care Centre. Manager and staff very approachable and helpful. My father entered the care home during lockdown but Henry Cornish made this intolerable time bearable. Thank you for that. Always kept up to date with any developments concerning my father. Family events are always very enjoyable. My father is well looked after.
When I go to pick up my mother she is always clean and dressed nicely. Staff are very good to her. When there are tea parties, myself and my family are always invited which my mother enjoys and we, as a family, can see my mother is very well looked after.
Very pleased with the service and care my mother has. Like a family for her and myself. Always updating me with anything relating to medical care. Keep in touch with anything they are concerned or myself concerned about with everyday care. Friendly staff and always giving 100% of the professional manner that is always needed.
My Mum went to Henry Cornish Care Centre for three weeks of respite care. The care home she was originally booked in for was closed, due to Covid-19 at the last minute. The care manager at Henry Cornish Care Centre gave my Mum a spot at short notice without any fuss. She liaised with the original care home for all my Mum’s details and requirements. The staff were all warm and welcoming and seemed knowledgeable and experienced. Communication with the home was easy and efficient. My Mum was well cared for and looked after during her stay.
My father has lived at Henry Cornish Care Centre for over 7 months. The management and care staff have listened to our concerns and made great efforts to address them. The house is clean, comfortable and quiet and my father has now settled in and is content. The staff are universally kind and hardworking but it is clear they are also stretched to provide individual attention to the residents at all times. There is a genuine desire to improve and to communicate with relatives. They welcome feedback so to be helpful I would suggest greater attention to those individual needs and more regular personal information to relatives. I am very happy my father lives at Henry Cornish Care Centre and grateful for his care.
The whole team at Henry Cornish deserve huge praise for the incredible care and support given to my mother over the last two/three weeks whilst she was in isolation and rehabilitating from her leg injury. I have spoken with Mum every day and she has felt so comfortable and cared for in every aspect and has felt so blessed that your team were in a position to assist her care. The respect and service you have shown to Mum are quite staggering and the family are so very grateful to all of the team. Mum has never been fed so well and with such good quality food (she is somewhat reluctant to leave!) Thank you so much for all of your love and care for Mum it is greatly appreciated at such a time when your industry is under so much demand and pressure. Wishing you and all of the team all the very best into the future and hope that you all get the deserved praise and rest you so richly deserve.
At this time of Covid restrictions, I have been unable to go into building other than approved Covid restriction room. I have found that trying to get information about my father's care and future plans difficult as staff are busy. My father seems settled and well cared for on visiting.
Mum has lived very happily at Henry Cornish for five years. The care has been brilliant, with lovely friendly staff. Special mention to the laundry service - items washed and returned in record time, nothing has ever been lost or damaged. During the pandemic, a nightmare for us all, regular contact via Skype and garden visits when permitted have been invaluable. Fantastic art classes offered by a volunteer artist (who doubles as the handyman!) produce some brilliant work. A big thank you to all the staff for going the extra mile.
My experience of staying in the intermediate care unit was of care and kindness. I was well looked after and felt safe and secure. I would highly recommend it.
A great experience cared for by very professional caring people.
Very pleasant. Made to feel safe and comfortable.
Knowing this was a great help to us especially over the last three months when we were unable to visit.
