Lake House

My mum has been a resident for 19-months. During that time, we have mostly been happy with her care. Initially, there were a few issues with her picking up and eating foreign objects, but this was recognised by the home, and extra provision of care was put in place. A carer who was good. We were not entirely delighted with another carer as we know Mum would not have been entirely comfortable, and now another carer who is amazing.

My partner has been at Lake House since June 2020. Her dementia has deteriorated since but I believe covid restrictions have not helped. She is loved by all the staff and has a one-to-one carer who is absolutely brilliant. I cannot fault the care and dignity that she is given. As she is very mobile she gives her carer the runaround.

I like being at Lake House because residents can, within reason, do what they like and are not made to do that they don't want to do. Activiites are provided for those who want it. I am sure I made the right decision to come here instead of staying at home with carers visiting.

Have met a good friend. Food was very good.

During his stay, my husband was happy, safe and well looked after. The staff were all friendly and treated him as a friend. The admin staff were always available and efficient.

Mum has been in Lake House for 2.5 years, the staff are very caring and look after Mum. On 9th July, Mum reached '100', the home gave her a day to remember. A member of staff stayed with her all day opening cards and presents; she was so happy. It was a day of celebration; she won't forget and all in these difficult times of covid19. My father staying for respite during January. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with smiles from the staff. Each time I have visited, the atmosphere has been relaxed, quiet and staff very caring and kind attitudes. From the Manager, all carers, cleaners etc. Plenty of places to sit and chat with relatives, with lovely separate areas. Some areas looking tired but is ongoing maintenance. I would not hesitate to recommend Lake House

I was happy to leave him while I had hospital treatment myself. The staff were engaged and response was reported as very good to me by my husband.

Lake House is a wonderful place to visit. My wife's meals are good, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Outings are curtailed if the transport breaks down, which happens a fair amount and takes a long time to fix.

My friend has been a resident at Lake House since November 2017. Although due to distance, I can only visit occasionally (roughly every 2/3 months), on each occasion I have been impressed with the quality of care she receives. The home is kept clean, neat and tidy and the staff are very caring and attentive. Lake House arranged a tea party to help us celebrate our friend's 80th birthday - this was very well done and much appreciated.

I came for a weeks respite while my daughter (my carer) was on holiday. I was a bit scared at first, not having ever been in a home before. The staff and management soon put me at ease and I spent a restful and peaceful week, anything I needed I just asked or rang my bell.

It is a break with my normal routine but necessary for my friend/carer to have a holiday well earned knowing I am safe and cared for while he is away.

After a difficult start for mum settling in, she is now quite contented and happy in her new surroundings. This has been due to the excellent level of care of all the staff and management at the home. They make her feel loved and valued and it is so comforting for us as a family to see how she is now. It is like a 'home from home' and we all feel welcomed ourselves when visiting mum on a daily basis. Thank you.

All the staff are very kind and treat me as a human being and show me respect at all times. Staff always listen and always willing to help. They really are a nice crowd, I cannot criticise anyone. Always kind and good listeners.

The care that mum receives at Lake House gives me peace of mind. Knowing that she is well looked after and that we are kept up to date with everything mum is going through makes a difficult situation much easier.

On viewing Lake House we were made very welcome. Mother stayed for 18 nights. All staff and management first class and friendly home. Again first class.

I was here and I am enjoying it. The facilities are good, the staff are good and very helpful. I am quite happy at the thought of staying here for much longer.

Husband and I live here now for more than a year and we love living here. We don't want to go anywhere but stay here as we are so well cared for. Very helpful caring.

The support Lake House has given my mum and family has been outstanding. They have given my mum time to settle in and adjust to her new home. She has had the opportunity to be in a quiet area if that is what she wants but also encouraged to join in and take advantage of the activities going on in the home. She has made friends and enjoys helping other residents. The standard of the food is amazing, plenty of it and the staff are always happy for us to join in with meal times. The accommodation and gardens provide a variety of opportunity for residents to experience. I feel very lucky that my mum has managed to find such a supportive team.
