Alexandra (Alex) joined the Trust in April 2018 as a Trainee Home Manager and quickly advanced to become the Home Manager of Lake House in December 2018.
Her career in care began in 2008 as a domiciliary carer. Over the years, Alex has progressed through various roles, eventually becoming a registered Domiciliary Care Manager. At that point, she decided to take her career in a new direction by applying her skills and experience to the care home sector. This led her to apply for and secure the Trainee Home Manager position. Alex holds a Level 5 qualification in Care Management and is currently pursuing a degree in social care through the Open University.
Outside of her role at Lake House, Alex enjoys spending time with her young family, walking her dog, and exploring the countryside.
Sarah is Lake House’s Admin Assistant and will be the first to offer a very warm welcome to all visitors. She joined Lake House in 2015 and brought with her many years’ experience of working in care and nursing. Along with nursing qualifications, Sarah holds an NVQ Level 4 (Management) and Certificate in Health and Social Services Management.
Sarah enjoys the varied and busy nature of her role; whether she is organising staff rotas, reviewing residents’ financial accounts or meeting a new resident and their family, Sarah is often the go-to person for information in the home and she is always willing to assist where she can.
Sarah feels privileged to work in the residents’ home and is dedicated to fulfilling residents’ wishes, whether that involves popping to the shop for them or something as simple as making them a cup of tea. She even donned an Easter bunny onesie and hopped around the home for their Easter party. For someone who, by her own admission, “doesn’t do fancy dress”, this speaks volumes about the lengths that Sarah will go to for the home!
Jo has dedicated 31 years to the care profession, with 20 of those years spent at The Order of St John Care Trust, where she was recently honoured with a 20-Year Long Service Award.

She develops a varied activity programme tailored to residents’ preferences and abilities, working closely with entertainers and involving the wider community to ensure fresh and engaging activities each week.
Jo’s energy and enthusiasm shine through in her work, and she loves bringing smiles and laughter to the residents every day.
