Cossins House is an excellent care home. My 90-year-old mum stayed for respite after a hospital visit and was treated with great love and kindness. The staff treated her with dignity at all times, the facilities were superb and the food was wholesome and nutritious. Mum was hesitant about staying in a care home, but they built up her strength and confidence, so that she was able to return home easier, certainly made a difficult time for our family much easier to cope with.

I absolutely love this home. The care they have given to my friend is above and beyond expectations. The residents love the sing songs, the entertainment and the general homely feel. It is obvious that all of the residents are enjoying their stay at Cossins House.

There are also activities on many days of the week, which include visiting entertainers and occasional visits outside the home. The food is nutritious, and there is a good variety. I was looking for somewhere for my mum, who had been living independently until a stroke in July. She made the decision herself that she was no longer able to look after herself safely. Cossins House was recommended to us and has been perfect in every way. Mum is so well looked after physically and mentally, and the relief of knowing how happy she is making new friends and living life again makes me so happy.

My mother-in-law initially came for post-operative respite care, but within a matter of a few weeks, she had settled so well that she chose to make Cossins her permanent home. She is incredibly happy. The best we have seen her in years. Relaxed. At ease. Happy, happy, happy. She thrives in the company of other residents and carers but is also happy to spend time in her room, which is homely and with all her familiar things around her. We are so appreciative of the care she gets and delighted she is once again happy. We could not recommend it more highly.

I am the Activity Leader here at Cossins House and provide a large number of activities. We work on a person-centred approach for each of our residents. We work as a team to engage with everyone and work to the needs of each resident. We have lots of fun and games indoors and outdoors, trips out, LIVE music and entertainment and one-to-one sessions.
We have a Holy Communion service every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month and a hairdresser who visits every other Monday. We are always open to new ideas and have volunteers coming in each week. We work closely with Pet Therapy and have several dogs visiting. We work with local schools, who sing for us every Christmas.
