I was very pleasantly surprised to arrive here at Cossins in August 2023 to a very warm welcome from the staff. Since then, I have been treated very well in all manner of ways, from being washed and dressed in the morning, to throughout the day when I have been given cups of tea often. The Activity Coordinator provides us with a number of activities to help our well-being, mental and physical.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, it means so much to the team. Our privilege to care for you.
Best move I ever made. Barchester Cossins House Care Home is wonderful, lots of activities and great staff team. I have never been so happy and can be myself. The grounds are beautiful and I love to walk each day. Very friendly and made many new friends.
Thank you for your kind review. Our privilege to care for you. We will share your lovely feedback with the team.
Cossins House is an excellent care home. My 90-year-old mum stayed for respite after a hospital visit and was treated with great love and kindness. The staff treated her with dignity at all times, the facilities were superb and the food was wholesome and nutritious. Mum was hesitant about staying in a care home, but they built up her strength and confidence, so that she was able to return home easier, certainly made a difficult time for our family much easier to cope with.
Thank you for giving us this lovely feedback. I will ensure it is shared with the team.
With only the eyes of a visitor to the home I can only imagine that the residents are the luckiest people to be able to spend their days at Cossins. The atmosphere is so friendly and the attitude of all the staff is one of cheerful, dedicated care. The house is immaculately clean and the grounds are a joy to walk in. I would recommend Cossins to anyone.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, it means a great deal to the team.
I was very comfortable and well looked after at Cossins House. All of the staff were very polite, helpful and accommodating at all times. My room was spacious and clean, the garden space was welcoming and enjoyable to be in. The food was tasty and meals were always on time and well cooked. Outings were well planned and appreciated. Thank you for looking after me after my hospital stay so well.
Thank you for your kind review. Our privilege to care for you.
Very pleased to have visited my sister at Cossins House Care Home where she is well cared for and happy with a lovely room overlooking the garden.

I absolutely love this home. The care they have given to my friend is above and beyond expectations. The residents love the sing songs, the entertainment and the general homely feel. It is obvious that all of the residents are enjoying their stay at Cossins House.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. I will share this with the team.
Beautiful home-from-home setting. A wonderful experience and the staff are always doing their best to make everyone comfortable and welcome, taking in all aspects of care to the highest level. Wonderful themed experiences - Christmas/Easter and always smiles all around, including from the staff.
Thank you so much for your feedback. It is always appreciated by the team.
Cossins House provides a wonderful home for my mum. The care is professional, kind and my mum feels very safe and happy. All staff are excellent and really care about the residents. The facilities are lovely - a nice lounge and a large well cared for garden. There are also activities on many days of the week, which include visiting entertainers and occasional visits outside the home. The food is nutritious, and there is a good variety. Overall, I am very happy with the service provided.
Your feedback is most appreciated by us all at Cossins House. Thank you so much.
I was looking for somewhere for my mum, who had been living independently until a stroke in July. She made the decision herself that she was no longer able to look after herself safely. Cossins House was recommended to us and has been perfect in every way. Mum is so well looked after physically and mentally, and the relief of knowing how happy she is making new friends and living life again makes me so happy.
Your appreciation of the service and the care your mother receives is most appreciated, your mother is a joy to care for and your support as a family is always welcome. I will share your comments with the team.
My mother-in-law initially came for post-operative respite care, but within a matter of a few weeks, she had settled so well that she chose to make Cossins her permanent home. She is incredibly happy. The best we have seen her in years. Relaxed. At ease. Happy, happy, happy. She thrives in the company of other residents and carers but is also happy to spend time in her room, which is homely and with all her familiar things around her. We are so appreciative of the care she gets and delighted she is once again happy. We could not recommend it more highly.
Your kind words are much appreciated and it is a pleasure to look after Mum. I will pass on your comments to the staff.

Meet the Team (18)

Healthcare has always been the driving force of my career, ever since I trained as a Registered Pharmacist in the Philippines for 10 years.
I moved to the UK in 2003, joining Cossins House as a Care Assistant, working my way up eventually to Deputy Manager and now General Manager.
As a General Manager, I am responsible for managing all aspects of the home’s daily operation, ensuring that the highest possible standard of care is provided in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Barchester policies.
As a leader, I will demonstrate an open and transparent culture, whereby my staff feel valued and developed.
As a team, we have achieved the prestigious Gold Standard Framework (GSF) Award-Platinum Status and a CQC 'Outstanding' in the Care Domain.
As a person, I am kind, calm and patient. I love to spend time video calling and chatting with my family back home. I am a mother of one child and happily married.

I started my career in the care industry as a Senior Care Assistant way back in 2006 in Nottingham, before moving to Surrey in 2010. I find my role really fulfilling!

I am the Activity Leader here at Cossins House and provide a large number of activities. We work on a person-centred approach for each of our residents. We work as a team to engage with everyone and work to the needs of each resident. We have lots of fun and games indoors and outdoors, trips out, LIVE music and entertainment and one-to-one sessions.
We have a Holy Communion service every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month and a hairdresser who visits every other Monday. We are always open to new ideas and have volunteers coming in each week. We work closely with Pet Therapy and have several dogs visiting. We work with local schools, who sing for us every Christmas.

Catherine has been at Cossins House for 7 years and is responsible for ensuring that the administration of the home runs smoothly and effectively. This includes both our management accounts and payroll.

Manny is responsible for ensuring our residents live in a place that’s proactively inspected and brilliantly maintained at all times.

I started my career as a chef in 2008 and joined Cossins House in 2019. I am passionate about working with fresh produce, creating well-balanced, seasonal menus focused on residents' choices and the nutritional value of the dishes. I enjoy having a chat with the residents and their visitors to get to know more about their likes and dislikes. I cook with a dedication to ensure the residents enjoy their meals.

Alex demonstrates a true passion for gardening by cultivating a welcoming atmosphere in our gardens with colourful flowers and vibrant, wide-open spaces that benefit our residents and wildlife alike.

I'm responsible for the home's cleanliness, and I make sure everything is tidy and in order. I also make sure the home smells inviting. See you all soon!

I am a Senior Care Assistant at Cossins House and work nightshifts. I have worked in the care setting for many years and have a true passion in taking great care of all our residents.

Working with the elderly is a true passion of mine. I have worked in care for many years and have achieved so much experience. I always give 100% to my career.

Anne supports our chef in the kitchen with all food preparations and takes care of keeping the kitchen clean and well-maintained.
